Permatang Damar Laut is a coastal village within the city of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. It is located at the southern tip of Penang Island, about 17 km (11 mi) south of the city centre, making it the southernmost human settlement on the island. The village is hemmed in between the Penang International Airport to the north and the Malacca Strait to the south.

Teluk Tempoyak is a coastal village within the city of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. It is located near the southeastern tip of Penang Island, about 16 km (9.9 mi) south of the city centre. The village lies just south of Batu Maung and faces the Penang Strait to the east.

Bayan Lepas is a suburb of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located near the southeastern tip of Penang Island, 15 km (9.3 mi) south of the city centre, it is home to the Penang International Airport, the third busiest airport in Malaysia, as well as one of the oldest free industrial zones in the country. Established sometime in the 19th century, Bayan Lepas had been an agricultural village, with rice production as its mainstay. The British built what is now the Penang International Airport in 1935, but it was only in the 1970s when Bayan Lepas witnessed widescale transformation with the creation of the eponymous free industrial zone. Today, electronics manufacturing and logistics have replaced agriculture as the major economic sectors at Bayan Lepas, while residential and commercial developments have also picked up apace, including Queensbay Mall, the largest shopping mall in George Town.

Batu Maung is a residential neighbourhood in the Malaysian state of Penang. It is located 15.7 km (9.8 mi) south of the city centre, adjacent to Bayan Lepas and the Penang International Airport. Batu Maung is home to the island terminus of the Second Penang Bridge and the southern end of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway. It is also surrounded by fishing villages such as Permatang Damar Laut and Teluk Tempoyak. Formerly an agricultural village, the development of Batu Maung into a residential neighbourhood began in the late 20th century. Part of the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone actually lies within the township, which also houses the headquarters of WorldFish Center and a deepwater fishing port.

Kampung Seronok is a small village in Southwest Penang Island District, Penang, Malaysia. This village is located between Bayan Lepas and Batu Maung.

Penang International Airport (PIA) (IATA: PEN, ICAO: WMKP) is an international airport in George Town, the capital city of the Malaysian state of Penang. The airport is located at the southeastern tip of Penang Island, 16 km (9.9 mi) south of the city centre, and serves the country's second largest conurbation.As the main gateway into northwestern Malaysia, PIA is the third busiest airport in Malaysia in terms of passenger traffic, recording 8.3 million tourist arrivals in 2019 alone. It is also the second busiest in the country by cargo handled and the highest in terms of export value, with RM385 billion in exports in 2020. Additionally, the airport is the main hub for local budget airline Firefly and one of AirAsia's operating bases.

The Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone (Bayan Lepas FIZ) is a free trade zone within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located adjacent to the Penang International Airport and 12 km (7.5 mi) south of the city centre, it is a high-tech industrial park widely regarded as the Silicon Valley of the East.Created in 1972 as Malaysia's first free trade zone, the Bayan Lepas FIZ played a critical role in Penang's economic diversification and is now home to various multinational corporations, including Bosch, Motorola, Dell, Intel and Hewlett-Packard.

Teluk Kumbar is a suburb of George Town within the Malaysian state of Penang. It is located about 17.8 km (11.1 mi) south of the city centre, at the southern coast of Penang Island between Bayan Lepas to the east and Gertak Sanggul to the west.

The Snake Temple (Chinese: 蛇庙; pinyin: Shé Miào; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tsuâ-biō), also known as the Temple of the Azure Clouds, is a Chinese temple within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at Bayan Lepas, the temple is well-known for being a refuge of resident snakes, said to be reincarnated disciples of the deified Buddhist monk Master Qingshui, to whom the temple is dedicated.Devotees from as far away as Singapore, Taiwan and China come to pray in the temple on the monk's birthday (the sixth day of the first lunar month). It was also featured during the 8th leg of The Amazing Race 16 and become a backdrop of Tan Twan Eng's novel "The Gift of Rain" (book 1, chapter 4).

The Church of Divine Mercy is a Roman Catholic church within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at Sungai Ara, the church was established in 2005.

Established in 1997, Pantai Hospital Penang (formerly known as Hospital Pantai Mutiara) is a 190 bedded specialist hospital in the satellite town of Bayan Baru, Penang, Malaysia. Pantai Hospital Penang offers services in Radiotherapy & Oncology, Cardiology, Dentistry, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. It also houses the only Stroke Center in the Northern Region. The hospital has 49 full-time specialist doctors, 15 sessional and 6 visiting specialist doctors. New facilities and services such as the recent additions - Urology, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy, Stroke Centre, Interventional Radiology, Radiotherapy and Brachytherapy (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) – are part of the hospital.

Sungai Ara is a residential neighbourhood within the city of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. It is located within the Southwest Penang Island District, adjacent to the town of Bayan Lepas. Sungai Ara also borders Relau to the north and Bayan Baru to the east.
