Canada Without Poverty (CWP) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to eradicating poverty in Canada and educating Canadians about the link between poverty and human rights. It is based in Ottawa, with a second office in Vancouver and is run by a board of directors who have, or have had, personal experiences of poverty. Canada has yet to develop consistent poverty indicators, which makes it difficult to effectively help the estimated 1 in 7 or 4.8 million people living in conditions of poverty. This is what CWP is working to change.

The National Council of Women of Canada (NCWC, French: Conseil national des femmes du Canada, (CNFC)) is a Canadian advocacy organization based in Ottawa, Ontario, aimed at improving conditions for women, families, and communities. A federation of nationally-organized societies of men and women and local and provincial councils of women, it is the Canadian member of the International Council of Women (ICW). The Council has concerned itself in areas including women's suffrage, immigration, health care, education, mass media, the environment, and many others. Formed on October 27, 1893 in Toronto, Ontario, it is one of the oldest advocacy organizations in the country. Lady Aberdeen was elected the first president of the National Council of Women of Canada in 1893. Prominent Council leaders included Lady Gzowski, Dr. Augusta Stowe-Gullen, and Adelaide Hoodless.

Barrymore's is a nightclub and concert venue located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The club was first opened in 1978, in the city's former Imperial Theatre on Bank Street. It was considered one of Canada's most important music venues in the 1980s, hosting concerts by noted artists.The club's owner filed for bankruptcy in 1991 and canceled the building's operations. It reopened in 1996 after its acquisition by Eugene Haslam, the owner of Zaphod Beeblebrox. Haslam instituted the custom of "theme nights"; Sunday being 80's retro night and Thursdays being retro 90's night. These nights have become two of the most popular nights in Ottawa's nightlife. In August 2008, scheduled concerts were cancelled and operations suspended due to the apparent sale of the venue to a new owner. Barrymore's reopened on 11 September, and resumed a regular schedule of events after Montreal-based club operator Vince Simeone and George Syriannis became the building's new tenants. Barrymore's is now owned and operated by George Syriannis.By March 2021, the condition of the building had deteriorated sufficiently that the landlord, Louis Antonakos, was ordered by the City of Ottawa to make urgent repairs or face closure. Later that same month, Antonakos appealed the order.

The Embassy of Ukraine, Ottawa is Ukraine's diplomatic mission in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Canada was the first western nation to recognize Ukraine's independence on December 2, 1991. The existence of a large Ukrainian-Canadian community has led to continued close relations between the two nations. The Ukrainian embassy was established on May 3, 1992. Originally in rented apartments, then it moved to a heritage building at 331 Metcalfe Street, that was purchased with the aid of donations from Ukrainian-Canadians. The current home of the embassy chancery is 310 Somerset Street West. This building was originally a mortgage and investment office. In 1991, it was purchased by the New Democratic Party for two million dollars and became their party headquarters. After the NDP lost official party status in Parliament in the 1993 election and found itself deeply in debt, it decided to sell the property. The Ukrainians, whose delegation had grown considerably, bought it in September 1994. The original chancery in Metcalfe is still used by the embassy to house its consular section. Since March 21, 1993, Ukraine has also maintained a Consulate General in Toronto and since September 7, 2018 a Consulate General in Edmonton.

The Treasury Board of Canada (French: Conseil du Trésor du Canada) is the Cabinet committee of the Privy Council of Canada which oversees the spending and operation of the Government of Canada and is the principal employer of the core public service. The committee is supported by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, its administrative branch and a department within the government itself. The committee is chaired by the president of the Treasury Board, currently Mona Fortier, who is also the minister responsible for the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.

Booth House is a prominent heritage building in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada located at 252 Metcalfe Street, just south of Somerset in Downtown Ottawa. The house was built by lumber baron John R. Booth in 1906, and it was designed by John W.H. Watts, who did a number of other Ottawa buildings. It remained in the Booth family until 1947, when it then became home of the Laurentian Club, one of Ottawa's leading clubs. The club closed in 2000, however, and the property was bought by Trinity Western University to house its academic-internship program, the Laurentian Leadership Centre. It now houses Trinity Western students who are interning in various governmental, cultural, business, journalistic, or non-governmental offices. In 1990, the building was designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

L'esplanade Laurier is an office complex in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It consists of two 23-storey towers, a three storey underground parking garage and a podium containing a two-storey shopping mall. The entire structure is clad in white carrara marble, making it clearly stand out from the other towers in the city. At 88 metres tall, the two towers are the ninth and tenth tallest in the city. It is located at the intersection of major Ottawa streets, Laurier Avenue between Bank Street and O'Connor Street. The lower two levels of the buildings stretch across the entire block and house a small shopping arcade.

The Embassy of Norway in Ottawa was established in 1949. The main task of the embassy is to promote Norwegian interests in Canada and further develop Norwegian-Canadian relations. In addition to the embassy there are eleven Norwegian Honorary Consuls in different locations in Canada.

The Ottawa Public Library (OPL; French: Bibliothèque publique d'Ottawa) is the library system of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The library was founded in 1906 with a donation from the Carnegie Foundation.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ottawa is the Czech Republic's embassy in Canada. It is located at 251 Cooper Street in Ottawa, the Canadian capital. Pavel Hrnčíř serves as Ambassador (as of July 2015).[1] The Czech Republic operates secondary Canadian consulate offices in Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver.
