Brandon, County Kerry

The R550 road is a regional road in Ireland, located on the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry.

An Clochán (anglicized as Cloghane; from clochán, a local type of dry-stone hut) is a Gaeltacht village and townland on the Dingle Peninsula of County Kerry, Ireland, at the foot of Mount Brandon. It is also part of a civil parish of the same name. In 1974 the village was added to the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking region). It has a population of 297 (2011 Census). Cloghane and Brandon (An Clochán agus Cé Bhréanainn) are jointly twinned with the village of Plozévet in Brittany (France). The village is set at the foot of Mount Brandon, on the north of the Dingle Peninsula and overlooking Brandon Bay. The village is on the Wild Atlantic Way tourism trail. An Clochán was the subject of a controversial and influential anthropological study by Nancy Scheper-Hughes in the early 1970s, published as "Saints, Scholars and Schizophrenics: Mental Illness in Rural Ireland".

The Arraglen Ogham Stone is an ogham stone (CIIC 145) and a National Monument located in County Kerry, Ireland.

The Conor Pass or Connor Pass (Irish: An Chonair, 'the way or path') is one of the highest mountain passes in Ireland served by an asphalted road. It is on the R560 road on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry.

Mount Brandon or Brandon (Irish: Cnoc Bréanainn, meaning 'Brendan's hill'), at 952 metres (3,123 ft), is one of the ten highest peaks in Ireland, being the 8th–highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin list, and the 9th–highest on the Vandeleur-Lynam list. Brandon is the highest Irish mountain outside the MacGillycuddy's Reeks range and has the greatest prominence of any Irish peak except Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain. Mount Brandon is at the centre of a long high ridge called the Brandon Group range of mountains in the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. The ridge contains seven other major peaks (i.e. above 2,000 ft in height); one is the similarly named Brandon Peak (840 metres). The positioning and dimensions of the Brandon Group ridge have made it the scene of several air accidents over the years. The mountain, and range, is named after Saint Brendan, and is the end of a Christian pilgrimage trail known as Cosán na Naomh. It is also well regarded for hill walking with routes such as the 4–5-hour Faha Route (also called The Pilgrim's Path), and the 6–7-hour traverse of the entire range known as "one of the finest ridgewalks in Ireland".

The Mountains of the Central Dingle Peninsula are the generic name given to the mountains that lie on the Dingle Peninsula between the Brandon Group of mountains in the west, and the Slieve Mish Mountains at the eastern end of the peninsula.

Beenoskee or Benoskee (Irish: Binn os Gaoith) is a mountain on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. It rises to 826 m (2,710 ft) and is the highest of the 'Central Dingle' Mountains.

Stradbally (Irish: An Sráidbhaile, meaning 'the village') is a small village and civil parish on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. The larger village of Castlegregory is nearby. The townlands of Ardbeg, Barrack and Farrantooleen, within the civil parish, contain a number of holy well, standing stone, churchyard and ring fort sites. The churchyard at Ardbeg contains the ruins of a late 15th or early 16th century church.

The Dingle Peninsula (Irish: Corca Dhuibhne; anglicised as Corkaguiny or Corcaguiny, the name of the corresponding barony) is the northernmost of the major peninsulas in County Kerry. It ends beyond the town of Dingle at Dunmore Head, the westernmost point of mainland Ireland. It is separated from the Iveragh Peninsula to the south by the Dingle Bay.

Lough Gill (; Irish: Loch Gile, meaning 'bright lake') is a freshwater lake in the southwest of Ireland. It is located on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry.

Fahamore (Irish: An Fhaiche Mhór, meaning 'the big green') is a townland and small village on the Maharees peninsula in County Kerry. It consists of about 50 houses and a pub. Fahamore is located on the shore of Brandon Bay and is a centre for diving, surfing, windsurfing and sea bass fishing. It is also a centre for currach building, and currachs are still used locally, including at the local fishing harbour at Scraggane.
