Fort Saskatchewan

The Fort Saskatchewan Canadian Northern Railway Station is a former railway station in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. It is a designated provincial historic resource. It was built by the Canadian Northern Railway along the east-west Canadian Northern Railway line. The 1+1⁄2-storey, wood-frame building is of a modified third-class station design (100-19 plan) employed at some of the major stops along the line; it is longer than that of most third-class designs. This included a vestibule, kitchen, living room, large general waiting room, separate ladies' waiting room, office and a small freight shed and was augmented with an expansion in 1911, In 1986 an agreement was reached by Canadian National and the town to remove the tracks into town and on September 8, 1987, the last train passed by the station. In 1991, the Fort Saskatchewan Kinsmen Club and Fort Saskatchewan Historical Society restored the station building. It is now part of the Fort Heritage Precinct, the City of Fort Saskatchewan's museum and historic site, and includes a railway museum in the station agent's office, ladies waiting room, and upstairs living quarters. Rooms can be rented to community groups and as of 2020, Miller's Ice Cream shop occupies the north end of the station.The Canadian Northern Railway reached Fort Saskatchewan in 1905, placing the town on a transcontinental rail line. The first bridge across the river was also built at this time, with the railway paying for it in exchange for free land for its station in Fort Saskatchewan. Prior to the bridge, the only method to cross the river at Fort Saskatchewan was via ferry.

Fort Saskatchewan Senior High School (a.k.a. Fort High) is a public high school located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. It serves approximately 450 students in Grades 10 through 12.

CKFT-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 107.9 FM in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta with a hot adult contemporary format branded as Mix 107-9. Golden West Broadcasting received CRTC approval for a new license to serve FortSaskatchewan on January 10, 2012. Signal tests on 107.9 FM began on October 23, 2012. The station launched at 10:00am on November 27 of that year branded at "Mix 107." On May 23, 2023, Kenner Media received CRTC approval to acquire CKFT-FM from Golden West Broadcasting. On June 28, 2023 the station name changed to "Mix 107-9" with the format remaining Hot Adult Contemporary. On October 31, 2023, at 3 p.m., the station relaunched as "Edmonton's Official Christmas Station with Rob Christie in the Morning"On January 3, 2024, at 10 a.m., the station went back to normal format. This makes it unusual to play Christmas up to January 3 as traditional am/fm stations who flip to Christmas music flips back or change formats on or after December 26.

The Jubilee Recreation Centre is a 1,586-seat multi-purpose arena in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. It was home to the Fort Saskatchewan Traders ice hockey team. The arena is also referred to as "the JRC". Now only little league hockey, the CJHL Pyramid Corporation Hawks and Fort Chiefs senior men's AAA hockey is played at the location. The city's lacrosse team called The Fort Saskatchewan Rebels play here as well. The town has two other arenas, one in the Dow Centennial Centre and the other in the Sportsplex arena.

Lamoureux () is a hamlet in central Alberta, Canada within Sturgeon County. It is located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) northeast of Edmonton's city limits on the northern shore of the North Saskatchewan River, on the opposite side of the City of Fort Saskatchewan. The location has a view of the ruins of the old Fort, which can still be seen standing by the riverfront. The area was settled in 1872 by the brothers Joseph and Francois Lamoureux. They built a gristmill, a lumber mill, and other industries. A post office was established shortly after February 1896. For the fiscal year ending October 1895, the lumber mill was the most productive in the Edmonton area, producing $15,588.65 of lumber (about $377,505 in 2022 Canadian dollars).

The Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital is an acute care hospital located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The facility opened in 2012, replacing the former Fort Saskatchewan Health Centre.

The Dow Centennial Centre (DCC) is a multipurpose recreational facility in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. Constructed in 2003–2004 for the city's centennial, the 13,400-square-metre (144,000 sq ft) complex cost $22 million. The DCC is notable for its arts facilities, which include a 552-seat performing arts theatre, and for its energy efficiency. However, it lacks any swimming facilities. The DCC has frequently hosted the province's judo and ringette championships.

Hu Haven is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Sturgeon County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the south side of Township Road 554, 0.8 km (0.50 mi) east of Highway 825.

The Sturgeon River is a 260-kilometre-long (160 mi) river in central Alberta. It is a major tributary of the North Saskatchewan River. The river crosses Sturgeon County, which was named for this river. For much of its length, the Sturgeon is the northwestern-most major river in the Hudson Bay drainage basin, as the river runs close to and parallel to the Arctic Divide. At the Villeneuve station, Sturgeon River has a discharge of 0.4 to 3 m3/s.Fish species which may be found in the river include: walleye, pike, perch, burbot, goldeye, sturgeon, whitefish, and sauger.

Edmonton/Josephburg Aerodrome (TC LID: CFB6), also known as Warren Thomas (Josephburg) Aerodrome, is located 0.7 nautical miles (1.3 km; 0.81 mi) north of Josephburg in Strathcona County, Alberta, Canada.

Bremner is a future urban community in central Alberta, Canada within Strathcona County. It is located on the north side of Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway) and the east side of Highway 21, adjacent to the northeast corner of Sherwood Park. Its geographic centre is approximately 25 km (16 mi) east of downtown Edmonton, 14 km (8.7 mi) south of Fort Saskatchewan and 7 km (4.3 mi) northwest of Ardrossan. The planned boundaries of Bremner are Highway 21 to the west, Highway 16 to the south, Range Road 222 to the east (which becomes Highway 824 south of Highway 16) and Pointe-Aux-Pins Creek to the north.Endorsed by Strathcona County Council over Colchester as its next future urban community on March 22, 2016, Bremner is anticipated to house 54,000 residents and provide 9,800 jobs at full build-out, which is anticipated to occur in 2054. Additional lands north of Pointe-Aux-Pins Creek and south of Township Road 540 present an opportunity for further expansion of Bremner in the long-term.The endorsement of Bremner as Strathcona County's next urban growth node enables more detailed planning to be undertaken in advance of subdivision and development as adjacent Sherwood Park to the west and southwest continues to build-out. Full build-out of Sherwood Park is anticipated by 2026.
