High Bluff Island (Lake Ontario)

Presqu'ile Provincial Park is a park in southeastern Northumberland County on the north shore of Lake Ontario near the town of Brighton in Ontario, Canada. The park occupies an area of 9.37 km2 (3.62 sq mi). The name of the park is the French word for peninsula, or literally "almost island", and was believed to be named by Samuel De Champlain on his second expedition. The peninsula was formed when a limestone island was connected to the mainland by a sand spit; this kind of formation is referred to as a tombolo.

Brighton is a town in Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada, approximately 150 kilometres (93 mi) east of Toronto and 100 km (62 mi) west of Kingston. It is traversed by both Highway 401 and the former Highway 2. The west end of the Murray Canal that leads east to the Bay of Quinte is at the east end of the town. Brighton later developed into primarily an agricultural community, specializing in the farming of apples and production of new apple types. However, in recent years, many of the original orchards in the area have been partially removed, to make way for the steadily growing population, and more profitable agricultural produce, such as wheat, corn and soybeans. In late September, Brighton is host to Applefest, its largest yearly festival. The Municipality of Brighton (formed on January 1, 2001, through an amalgamation of the former Town of Brighton and Brighton Township) is home to over 12,108 inhabitants, with a higher than average percentage of those retired. This is common, as the quiet, clean and friendly atmosphere of many smaller towns near Lake Ontario tend to draw the elderly as popular places for retirement living. Presqu'ile Provincial Park, just south of the town centre, is one of Brighton's most popular attractions. The park is noted for bird-watching and other nature-oriented activities. Memory Junction Railway Museum, located in a former Grand Trunk station, has a collection of rail equipment and memorabilia.

CIYM-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts a classic hits format at 100.9 FM in Brighton, Ontario. Owned by My Broadcasting Corporation, the station was authorized on May 15, 2009 and began broadcasting later in the same year originally with an adult contemporary format branded as 100.9 myFM. On May 20, 2016, The station switched to oldies branded as Oldies 100.9.

The Brighton Applefest was created in 1975 by the merchants of Brighton, Ontario, Canada to promote the Brighton area, and the apple-based culture around it. It is now Brighton's largest yearly event, taking place annually during the last week of September, and can draw up to 30,000 visitors. The attendance at the 2011 festival, which did not feature the typical car show, was estimated at 20,000. The festival offers a variety of attractions. Its primary draw is its parade, and a street festival featuring fresh foods and local crafts. Other attractions include hayrides, a classic car show, live music, and a children's amusement park, in addition to vendors selling local arts and crafts. The festival went on hiatus in 2020 and returned in 2021.

East Northumberland Secondary School (ENSS) is a secondary school in Brighton, Ontario, Canada. The school was the topic of a song performed by Miley Cyrus called "East Northumberland High", written by ENSS's own Samantha Moore.

The Murray Canal is a canal in the municipalities of Quinte West and Brighton, Ontario, Canada, and runs from the western end of the Bay of Quinte to Presqu'ile Bay on Lake Ontario. It is approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) in length and has a maximum depth of 9 feet (2.7 m). The canal shortens the trip for boats wishing to access Lake Ontario from the central and western Bay of Quinte by avoiding having to go around the whole peninsula of Prince Edward County. The canal was proposed as early as 1796 and land was set aside by the government of Upper Canada. However, the Welland Canal and the Rideau Canal were seen as more important and construction was delayed. Construction was begun in 1882 and because of problems with unstable banks it took until 1889 to complete the canal. The canal is crossed by two swing bridges (Ontario Highway 33 and County Rd 64). An unused railway bridge is kept permanently open but the former CN Rail tracks have since been removed with the creation of the Millennium Trail. A swing bridge at Hutchison Road has been removed with only the bridge footings remaining. The canal saw many years of use with coal and other commercial boats, but after the St. Lawrence Seaway opened in 1959, the traffic declined. Since then there has been a steady rise in recreational use and today the Murray Canal is used by boaters who visit the Trent–Severn Waterway.

Wellers Bay is a small bay on Lake Ontario, on the west side of Prince Edward County. In 1861 the Government of the Province of Canada considered making it a "harbour of refuge", and installing a lighthouse. During World War II the beach was part of the Consecon Air Weapons Range and was used as a firing range, for pilot-trainees.In 1978 the Weller's Bay National Wildlife Area was created. Subsequently, locals used to using the area for fishing, snowmobiling, and other recreational uses started clashing with officials charged with a responsibility to protect wildlife. In the 1990s officials started issuing fines. Municipal politicians tried negotiating a relaxation of the rules, without success. On May 27, 2011, the Canadian Wildlife Service announced the bay's beaches would be off limits.A key 83 hectares (210 acres) of the 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) bay are set aside as a National Wildlife Area, including Bald Island, Bald Head Island, Fox Island, and the sandspit that protects the bay, because the sandspit that protected the bay was one of the last undeveloped spits on the great lakes, and it was an important bird habitat. Public access is prohibited at Wellers Bay National Wildlife Area.

CJTN-FM is a radio station in Trenton, Ontario, broadcasting on the assigned frequency of 107.1 MHz, serving Belleville and the Quinte region. Owned by Quinte Broadcasting, the station airs a classic rock music format branded as Rock 107.

Carrying Place is a community straddling the Quinte West and Prince Edward County border that serves as a gateway to Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Situated northwest of Picton and just south of Trenton, it was named for its location on the portage between the Bay of Quinte and Weller's Bay on Lake Ontario. The Loyalist Parkway passes through the community. Carrying Place is home to the Department of National Defence's LPH-89 antenna farm attached to CFB Trenton and located along Loyalist Parkway south of Twelve O'clock Point.

Trenton Junction railway station (French: Gare de Trenton Junction) is an unstaffed inter-city train station at 18277B Telephone Road in Trenton, Ontario, Canada operated by Via Rail. The station is located 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) south of Ontario Highway 401 on Ontario Highway 33 and serves trains running from Toronto to Ottawa on the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor.The unstaffed station shelter is heated and has telephones and washrooms. It is opened 60 minutes prior to train arrivals at the station and remains open for 30 minutes following train departures.

Trenton (2001 population 16,770) is a large unincorporated community in Central Ontario in the municipality of Quinte West, Ontario, Canada. Located on the Bay of Quinte, it is the starting point for the Trent-Severn Waterway, which continues northwest to Peterborough and eventually Port Severn on Georgian Bay.

The Trenton Cenotaph is a memorial dedicated to the "fallen of all conflicts" located in Trenton, Ontario, Canada.
