Harewood Castle

Harewood ( HAIR-wuud) is a village, civil parish, former manor and ecclesiastical parish, in West Yorkshire, England, today in the metropolitan borough of the City of Leeds. The civil parish population at the 2011 census was 3,734.

Knight Air Flight 816, being flown by G-OEAA, an Embraer 110 Bandeirante belonging to Knight Air, was an internal scheduled flight operating between Leeds Bradford and Aberdeen airports on 24 May 1995, which crashed with the loss of all on board shortly after take-off.

All Saints' Church is a 15th-century redundant church in the park of Harewood House, the seat of the Lascelles Earls of Harewood, near the village of Harewood, West Yorkshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands in isolation within Harewood Park, as the surrounding village was relocated by the owner of Harewood House, in about 1760, to a location further from the house. Inside the church is the family vault of the Earls of Harewood and a set of six alabaster monuments, which are "the largest collection of alabaster monuments in a parish church within the dates 1419–1510".

Harewood House ( HAR-wuud, HAIR-) is a country house in Harewood, West Yorkshire, England. Designed by architects John Carr and Robert Adam, it was built, between 1759 and 1771, for Edwin Lascelles, 1st Baron Harewood, a wealthy West Indian plantation and slave owner. The landscape was designed by Lancelot "Capability" Brown and spans 1,000 acres (400 ha) at Harewood. Still home to the Lascelles family, Harewood House is a member of the Treasure Houses of England, a marketing consortium for ten of the foremost historic homes in the country. The house is a Grade I listed building and a number of features in the grounds and courtyard have been listed as Grade I, II* and II.

Harewood speed Hillclimb (the form with italics and a lower-case s is used officially) is a hillclimb near the village of Harewood, West Yorkshire, England. The track can be found on the A659 between Harewood village and Collingham, north of Leeds. In addition to national events, it hosts rounds of the British Hill Climb Championship, a Classic & Historic Hillclimb and an event that includes bikes. Around 11 meetings are organised between April and September each year by the British Automobile Racing Club Yorkshire Centre. The first event on the track took place on 16 September 1962, and Best Time of the Day was set at 51.61s by Tony Lanfranchi driving an Elva Mk VI. This was on the original 'Short Course'. The first R.A.C. Hill Climb Championship event was held in September, 1964. In the mid 1990s the track was extended to 1,584 yards (1,448 m). As of 2023, the outright hill record holder was Matt Ryder, whose time of 49.39 seconds was set on 3 July 2022 in that day's 2nd Top 12 Runoff.

Dunkeswick is a hamlet in the civil parish of Kirkby Overblow, in North Yorkshire, England, just north of the River Wharfe, off the A61, around a kilometre north of Harewood and two kilometres south of Kirkby Overblow.

Kearby with Netherby is a civil parish in Harrogate district, North Yorkshire, England. The parish includes the hamlets of Barrowby, Netherby and Kearby Town End. The parish had a population of 204 in the 2011 census.Kearby with Netherby was historically a township in the parish of Kirkby Overblow in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It became a separate civil parish in 1866. It was transferred to the new county of North Yorkshire in 1974. Kearby was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, as Cherebi. The name probably derives from Kærer, an Old Danish personal name.

Kirkby Overblow is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated between Wetherby and Harrogate and lies to the west of Sicklinghall and the east of Leeds Bradford International Airport. It has a church called All Saints and a Church of England primary school affiliated with the church. Kirkby Overblow has a bus stop, but no railway station or post office.

All Saints' Church is the parish church of Kirkby Overblow, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. The oldest part of the church is the north doorway, which is probably 11th century, while the north transept is 14th century. It became a collegiate church in 1362, enabling the rector to become known as a provost. The church was almost entirely rebuilt between 1780 and 1781, and in 1848, it was described as a "a spacious and venerable structure". It was restored in 1872 by G. E. Street, and was grade II listed in 1966. The church is built of gritstone with a stone slate roof, and consists of a nave, a south aisle, a south porch, a north transept, a chancel and a west tower. The tower has three stages, diagonal buttresses, Perpendicular windows, a sundial, a west clock face, two-light bell openings with hood moulds, and an embattled parapet with crocketed corner pinnacles. There are also embattled parapets on the body of the church.

Rougemont Castle in the manor of Harewood, in the parish of Weeton, North Yorkshire, England, is a ruined ringwork castle, now largely hidden within over-grown woodland, located to the south east of the village of Weeton, above the north bank of the River Wharfe, where the river turns in a right-angle at its confluence with Weeton Beck. No above-ground structure survives but the earthwork features remain visible of building platforms, ditch system, outer enclosure and fish ponds.
