The Canadian Music Centre was founded in 1959 by a group of Canadian composers who saw a need to create a repository for Canadian music. It now holds Canada's largest collection of Canadian concert music, and works to promote the music of its Associate Composers in Canada and around the world. Initially the Centre focused on collecting and cataloguing serious musical works, developing a catalogue of scores, copying and duplicating the music, and making it available for loan, nationally and internationally. The Centre currently has over 18,000 scores and/or works by almost 700 Canadian contemporary composers available through its lending library. It sells more than 900 CD titles featuring the music of its Associate Composers and other Canadian independent recording producers. The Centre is digitizing all of its scores and works. It offers an on-demand printing and binding service, music repertoire consultations, and is easily accessible through its five regional centres across Canada, and its website. It has a number of national outreach projects, conducts research, and administers several awards. The Ann Southam Audio Archive, administered by the CMC, is the largest collection of recorded Canadian concert works in the world. It can be accessed through Centrestreams, CMC's free streaming service, via its website. In 1981, the Centre established the Centrediscs recording label, the only label devoted to Canadian concert music. The Sutton Place Hotel was initially a 33-storey hotel and apartment building located at 955 Bay Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Mowat Block

The Mowat Block is an office building in Toronto, Ontario, home to Ontario's provincial Ministry of Education, Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD), and Infrastructure. It is part of a massive 24 storey government complex east of Queen's Park at College Street and University Avenue. It is one of the buildings of the large complex called Ontario Government Buildings next to the Ontario Legislative Building. The International Style office building was designed by Shore Tilbe Henschel Irwin Architects and Engineers (now Shore Tilbe Irwin + Partners), and built in the 1960s and named for former Premier and Father of Confederation Sir Oliver Mowat. The Brass Rail (Toronto)

The Brass Rail is one of Toronto's downtown strip clubs. It is located on Yonge Street just south of Bloor. It is well known as a popular venue for celebrities, especially during the Toronto International Film Festival, which is based at the nearby luxury hotels of Yorkville. Stars that have been observed there include Samuel L. Jackson, Charlize Theron, Alex Rodriguez, and Colin Farrell. The Brass Rail was one of the first venues Paul Shaffer worked in, serving as host and musician.The club has also been the site of a number of legal battles. It was the only club in Toronto to deliberately defy the city's bylaw against lap dancing. When federal laws also arrived banning lap dancing, it was one of a group of clubs that brought the issue all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada, which in the 1997 R v Mara case threw out the bans on lap dancing.
