Jamesburg Public Schools

Manalapan Brook is a tributary of the South River in Monmouth and Middlesex counties, New Jersey in the United States.

Jamesburg is a borough in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 5,783, a decrease of 132 (−2.2%) from the 2010 census count of 5,915, which in turn reflected a decline of 110 (−1.8%) from the 6,025 counted in the 2000 census.

Monroe Township High School is a comprehensive four-year public high school located in Monroe Township, in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades part of the Monroe Township School District. The school serves students from Monroe Township and approximately 300 from Jamesburg who attend Monroe Township High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Jamesburg Public Schools that has been in place since 1980. The school's mascot is a falcon and the school colors are purple and Vegas gold. The motto is "Excellence is Our Expectation". As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,508 students and 187.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.4:1. There were 151 students (6.0% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 40 (1.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch. Based on 2021-22 data from the New Jersey Department of Education, it was the tenth-largest high school in the state and one of 29 schools with more than 2,000 students.

Jamesburg High School was a public high school that operated in Jamesburg, Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, as the lone secondary school of the Jamesburg Public Schools until its closure at the end of the 1978–79 school year. Prior to opening its own high school, students from Jamesburg would attend either Freehold High School or New Brunswick High School. The borough's first high school opened in 1906, with seven students in the district's elementary school sharing a common teacher with the eighth grade. In its early years, the school served students from the surrounding Middlesex and Monmouth county communities of Cranbury, East Brunswick, Englishtown, Helmetta, Manalapan Township, Monroe Township, Old Bridge Township and Spotswood. The high school relocated in 1912. After multiple votes to create a new high school facility had failed, construction of a building to meet the expanding demand began in 1931 and the school opened in September 1932. Constructed at a cost of $165,000, the facility included 17 classrooms, an auditorium and a gymnasium. Students from South Brunswick had attended the district until 1960, when South Brunswick High School was opened as the Jamesburg district would no longer accept students from the township after the 1959–60 school year. The New Jersey Board of Education voted in May 1979 to shut down the high school, which with an enrollment of 182 students was the smallest in the state. Starting with the 1979–80 school year, Jamesburg began sending students to Monroe Township High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Monroe Township School District. Students from Helmetta had been attending Jamesburg High School under a sending/receiving agreement, and switched its students to Spotswood High School. By the time the school closed, there were 4,100 graduates. The first building to house the high school was eventually demolished and replaced by the current Grace M. Breckwedel Middle School building. The second building that housed the high school was turned into an office complex, which is still there today and known as Forsgate Commons. It is located on the intersection of Forsgate Drive and Davison Ave, right behind the district's John F. Kennedy Elementary School.

Buckelew Mansion, also known as Lakeview, is a historic home in Jamesburg, Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. It now serves as a museum of local history and the headquarters of the Jamesburg Historical Association.

Thompson Park is a 675-acre park and 925-acre nature reservation. The entire park is connected to sports fields operated by Monroe Township High School, and located in the municipalities of Monroe Township and Jamesburg in Middlesex County, New Jersey. It is the largest park in the Middlesex County Park System, and features Lake Manalapan at its center.

Whittingham, also known as Greenbriar at Whittingham, is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Monroe Township, in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 2,476. The area is focused around the age-restricted gated community of Whittingham.

Forsgate is a golf course community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Monroe Township, Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It consists of Forsgate Country Club and its associated housing developments. It is in the northwestern part of the township, bordered to the south across Forsgate Drive by Rossmoor, to the east by the Hightstown Industrial Track rail line, to the north by a branch rail line connecting Jamesburg and Monmouth Junction, and to the west by the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 8A. It is 13 miles (21 km) south of New Brunswick and 19 miles (31 km) northeast of Trenton. The community was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Ponds is a planned community and census-designated place (CDP) in Monroe Township, Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is in the southern part of the township, bordered to the west by Clearbrook, to the north and east by Concordia, and to the south by Union Valley Road. It is 4 miles (6 km) south of Jamesburg and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Hightstown. The community was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Holmes–Tallman House is a large farmhouse with Carpenter's Italianate style located northwest of Jamesburg, at the corner of County Route 535 (Cranbury-South River Road) and County Route 522 (Rhode Hall Road, formerly Brown's Corner Road), in Monroe Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Also known as Brown's Corner House, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 12, 1979, for its significance in architecture.

Helmetta is a borough in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough is located in the heart of the Raritan Valley region, with Manalapan Brook (a Raritan River tributary) flowing through the center of the community. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 2,455, its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 277 (+12.7%) from the 2010 census count of 2,178, which in turn reflected an increase of 353 (+19.3%) from the 1,825 counted in the 2000 census. The community was established around a snuff mill opened in the 1820s that was acquired by George Washington Helme in the 1880s. Helmetta was formed as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 20, 1888, when it was created from portions of East Brunswick, based on the results of a referendum held on March 10, 1888. Helmetta's boundary with East Brunswick Township was changed as of March 24, 1897. The borough was named for Helme's daughter, Olivia Antoinette "Etta" Helme.
