Birkerød Church

Birkerød station is the railway station in Birkerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is served by S-trains on the Hillerød radial. The railway station was built in 1864 and the first S-trains were used in 1968. When built, the railroad station was situated a bit outside Birkerød. The reason for this was that it had to be situated on a hill to make it easier to get the trains started again after stopping. But today, Birkerød has grown a lot, so it is now located in the centre of the city.

Birkerød (Danish: [ˈpiɐ̯kəˌʁøˀð]) is a town in Rudersdal Municipality in the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is surrounded by several lakes and small woodlands. Birkerød station is located on the Hillerød radial of the S-train suburban network.

Sjælsø is a lake straddling the borders between the municipalities of Rudersdal, Allerød and Hørsholm in North Zealand to the north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Situated immediately to the north of the suburban town of Birkerød, it is surrounded by a mixture of farmland, pastures and small woodlands. The lake has an area of 293 hectares and is relatively shallow. It is fed by five minor streams and drains into the Øresund though Usserød Å. It is owned by Nordvand A/S.

The Special Support and Reconnaissance Company (Danish: Særlig Støtte- og Rekognosceringskompagni), until 1 January 2007 known as the Patrol Company Army Operational Command (Danish: Patruljekompagniet) is the only remaining Long Range Surveillance Company (LRSC) / Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) Coy) in the Danish Armed Forces. The unit is part of the Danish Home Guard, and the only one of its kind, working directly for the Danish Army and the only unit in Danish Armed Forces that uses a woven fabric for its cap badge. Like with the other Danish SOFs, the accepted soldiers have one year probation, before they get their beret with the SSR insignia, and can be considered full members.

Ravnsnæs is a small village with a population of 581 (1 January 2023), just south of Sjælsø in Denmark. Ravnsnæs is part of the Rudersdal Municipality, and is situated 3.5 km South West of Hørsholm. Watch pictures and fly-over video at landowner's website.

Sandholm is an estate in the parish of Blovstrød, Allerød Municipality some 30 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Magleås is a mansion in Høsterkøb near Birkerød in northern Zealand, Denmark. It is located in Rudersdal Municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark, 25 km. outside Copenhagen. The mansion includes 8 hectare park, and borders on the Rude Forest (Rude Skov). It also includes stables and a caretaker's house. It was built in 1910 for businessman Aage Westenholz (1859–1935), an uncle of Karen Blixen who was a co-owner and chairman of the board of her coffee farm (Karen Coffee Company Ltd.). He had previously made a fortune as a businessman in Asia. The main building, with its 50 rooms, was designed by the Westenholz' brother-in-law, the architect Torben Grut, in a neo-baroque style. In 1910, the Westenholz family moved in with a large staff. The nearby mansion Aasebakken was also designed by Torben Grut and built for land-owner Lennart Grut.

Åsebakken Priory, or the Priory of Our Lady of Åsebakken, is a Benedictine monastery of nuns at Birkerød, about 20 km north of Copenhagen in Denmark. The priory is part of the Beuronese Congregation within the Benedictine Confederation.

Furesø is a lake in Northeastern Zealand, Denmark and the deepest lake in Denmark. It defined Farum municipality's southeast border and is the site of Nicolai Eigtved's 18th century small pleasure pavilion for Privy Councillor Johan Sigismund Schulin on the Furesø Lake called Frederiksdal Pavilion. The lake neighbours the adjacent Farum Lake, to which it is connected by a short stream, Fiskebaek. It is the namesake of Furesø municipality, which was formed January 1, 2007 as a merger of the two former municipalities Farum and Værløse. It has a popular beach on its western shore, which is within the municipality.

Høvelte railway halt (Danish: Høvelte Trinbræt) is a railway halt on the Hillerød radial of the S-train network in Greater Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located between Birkerød station and Allerød station and primarily serves Høvelte Barracks. There is only one station platform by the northbound track. Only the five first trains in the morning and the five last trains in the night stop and only at request. On Sundays and in holidays it is the last eleven trains. Maintenance is done by Høvelte Barracks. The name Høvelte is relatively new. It was introduced in the 1930s. The former name of the locality was Luserød.

Frederikslund is a former country house now located in the middle of a neighbourhood of single-family detached homes at Frederikslundsvej 21 in Holte, Rudersdal Municipality. some 20 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The building was completed in 1803 to a Neoclassical design by Joseph-Jacques Ramée. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1978. Frederikslund Skov, a small woodland between Furesø and the Hillerød rail line, takes its name after the property..

Center Sandholm, or Sandholm, is a public institution for asylum seekers in Denmark. It is located in Sandholm, Blovstrød, Allerød Kommune. Children and young people under 18 who have fled alone are received at Center Gribskov. It is a former military barracks and the largest reception center for asylum seekers in Denmark. The center's daily operations are run by the Danish Red Cross. It also serves as both a receiving and departure center, for newly arrived asylum seekers, and asylum seekers who have been rejected; however, this later group will eventually be moved over to the Sjælsmark deportation camp. Separated from the Red Cross facility, Sandholm also offers a branch of the Immigration Service, the National Police Immigration Department, and Ellebæk, a penal institutions for detained asylum seekers.
