Cornasker (Irish language derived place name, Corr na Sceire meaning 'The Round Hill of the Jagged Rock'.) is a townland in the civil parish of Kildallan, barony of Tullyhunco, County Cavan, Ireland.

Aghnacreevy (Irish derived place name, either Achadh na Craoibhe meaning 'The Field of the Wide-Branching Tree' or Áth na Craoibhe meaning 'The Ford of the Wide-Branching Tree'.) is a townland in the civil parish of Kildallan, barony of Tullyhunco, County Cavan, Ireland.

Carrigallen (Irish: Carraig Álainn, meaning 'beautiful rock') is a small village in County Leitrim, Ireland. It is on the R201 and R203 roads in the east of the county, 19 km west of Cavan town. As of 2016, the village had a population of 387.

Rockfield Lake (Irish: Loch Pháirc na Carraige, meaning 'Lough of the Field of Rocks'), also known as Rockfield Lough, is a lake or lough situated between Carrigallen and Killeshandra, two small towns on the northern edge of the Midlands in Ireland. Part of the lake is in County Leitrim, which is part of the Province of Connacht, while most of the lake is in County Cavan, which is part of the Province of Ulster. This means that the provincial boundary between Connacht and Ulster runs through the lough. The Cullies River (Irish: An Abhainn Dubh, meaning 'the Black River') flows through Rockfield Lake, entering the lake at its southern end and flowing out of the lake at its north-western end. This small river flows from nearby Cullies Lake, and flows on, via Drumhart Lake, through Rockfield Lake to Glasshouse Lake.Rockfield Lake covers about 94 acres (around 38 hectares) and is just over 36 feet (just over 11 metres) deep at its deepest point, this point being at the southern end of the lake. The surface elevation of the lake is 154 feet or 47 metres.

Newtowngore or Newtown Gore, known before the Plantations of Ireland as Ducarrick (Irish: An Dúcharraig, meaning 'the black rock'), is a village on the R199 regional road in County Leitrim, in the north of the parish of Carrigallen.

Magh Slécht (sometimes Anglicised as Moyslaught) is the name of a historic plain in Ireland. It comprises an area of about three square miles (8 km2) situated in the south-eastern part of the Parish of Templeport, Barony of Tullyhaw, in the west of County Cavan. It is bounded on the south by Templeport Lough, on the north by Slieve Rushen mountain, on the east by the Shannon–Erne Waterway, and on the west by the River Blackwater. Magh Slécht formed part of the Province of Connacht until the 16th century when it was made part of the Province of Ulster.It was originally named Magh Senaig (plain of the hill-slope) and under this guise is mentioned in The Metrical Dindshenchas in the story of the Dagda, Corrgenn and Ailech, wherein it states the Corrgenn travelled from Tara to Lough Foyle in the Inishowen peninsula via Mag Senaig. In Pre-Christian times the small area where the Crom Cruach idol stood at Killycluggin and Kilnavert was originally named Fossa Slécht or Rath Slécht and it is from this small location that the wider Magh Slécht area received its name. In 1911 BC during the reign of Fodbgen, the Firbolg High-King of Ireland, the name Magh Senaig was changed to Magh Slécht (The plain of prostrations) as it became the nationwide centre of the cult of the god Crom Cruach. Another interpretation is Magh Sleacht meaning the Plain of the Monument. St. Patrick is said to have thrown down Crom Cruaich when he stretched out the Bachal Isu from a neighbouring hill causing it to fall over with its head pointing toward the Hill of Tara. The twelve surrounding idols were then swallowed up by the earth.Another name for the plain was Magh Lecet or Magh Leced. The ancient Irish prayed by prostrating themselves in a similar fashion to today's Muslims, i.e. by kneeling down on both knees and touching the forehead against the earth. The plain is not flat but consists of little drumlin hills. However, as it is surrounded by mountains, it is a plain in comparison. In the old Irish tale The Siege of Druim Damhgaire or Knocklong (Forbhais Droma Dámhgháire), one of King Cormac Mac Art's druids was called Cecht of Magh Slécht.

The R204 road, also called the Ballinamore–Carrigallen Road, is a regional road in Ireland, located in County Leitrim.

The Killycluggin Stone is a decorated stone, found near the town of Killycluggin, County Cavan, in Ireland. Roughly cone-shaped and covered in Iron Age La Tène designs, it was discovered broken in several pieces, partly buried close to a Bronze Age stone circle, inside which it probably once stood. The stone is now housed in the Cavan County Museum, while an imperfect replica stands near the road about 300 metres from the original site.Although now much damaged, the stone can be reconstructed from the different surviving pieces. It was at least 6 feet high. At the base of the stone there were four rectangular adjoining panels measuring 90 cm each in width giving a circumference of 3 m 60 cm when it was first carved. The height of each panel was about 75 cm.

The River Blackwater (Irish: Abhainn Dubh) rises in the Cuilcagh Mountains, in the townland of Gowlan, Parish of Killinagh, Barony of Tullyhaw, County Cavan. It then flows in a south-east direction and ends in Ballymagauran Lough.[1] It has a fish population of brown trout, pike and perch.[2] The earliest mention of the river is in poems in the Book of Magauran dating to the 1350s.

Camagh (from Irish: either Cam-achadh meaning 'A crooked field' or Cam-magh meaning 'A crooked plain') is a townland in the civil parish of Templeport, County Cavan, Ireland. It lies in the Roman Catholic parish of Templeport and barony of Tullyhaw. The local pronunciation is Commagh.
