Cornell is a new community village being developed in northeast Markham, Ontario and bounded by Highway 407, 16th Avenue, Ninth Line, and the Donald Cousens Parkway. The 2011 population of this area was 9,880. Adding Cornell North's 2,178 (from 16th Avenue to Donald Cousens Parkway) it had 12,058 residents.

Cornell Community Centre is a 129 000 square foot centre, located at 3201 Bur Oak Ave, Markham, Ontario and centred within the community of Cornell. It is one of the newest community centres in the City of Markham. It was opened on December 17, 2012, and includes many features. The community centre is connected to Markham Stouffville Hospital, allowing many different facilities to be available for patients and doctors. The Library also has a section dedicated to health, diseases, and hospital usages on the second floor.

Markham Stouffville Hospital is an acute care community hospital with two sites: the Markham site, with diagnostic and emergency services, and clinical programs in childbirth, children's health, surgery, medicine, cancer care and mental health; and the Uxbridge site, a 20-bed hospital offering some inpatient and emergency services. In the 2019-2020 fiscal year there were almost 20,000 inpatient stays with an average length of stay of 4.6 days, and 106,000 emergency department visits.

Cornell Terminal is a York Region Transit bus terminus on a site immediately south of Markham Stouffville Hospital in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The station opened in September 2022 and includes a passenger pick-up and drop-off area, a public plaza, and future retail space.

Old (16th Avenue) Bailey Bridge is a Bailey bridge located below 16th Avenue (York Regional Road 73) east of Reesor Road within Rouge Park in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The bridge crossed the Little Rouge Creek, a tributary of the Rouge River. A new bridge was built above this bridge to provide two way access for 16th Avenue east of Ressor Road. The old bridge is in situ with ends fenced off to prevent trespassing.

Markham District High School (or MDHS) is a public high school in the city of Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is one of 32 high schools in the York Region District School Board. Until the 2016–17 academic year, it was the only publicly funded school within York Region which had a non-semestered system. In the 2016–17 academic year, the school switched to a semestered system.

Greensborough (2006 population estimated 5,000) (Census Tract Number 5350403.03) is a community in the city of Markham in the Regional Municipality of York in the Canadian province of Ontario. Greensborough is one of the easternmost communities in Markham, and with the exception of Dickson Hill, is also the northernmost. The community is situated just north of Markham Village (a heritage district along Main St. Markham), west of Cornell, and east of Mount Joy. It includes the area north of 16th Avenue, west of Ninth Line, south of Major MacKenzie Drive and east of Markham Road. Parts of the community's northern area remain uninhabited (as residential development continues).

St. Brother André Catholic High School is a Catholic secondary school in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Grades 9 to 12 are taught, with religious studies included in the curriculum. It is named after Saint André Bessette (also known as Brother André), a 20th-century Catholic religious brother in Montreal responsible for the construction of the Saint Joseph's Oratory. Mount Joy is a community located in the north part of Markham, Ontario, Canada near Highway 48 and 16th Avenue and part of the former Township of Markham. Mount Joy became a police village in 1907, but absorbed into Markham Village in 1915. A non-farm settlement developed on Main Street North and Peter Street from Beech Street to 16th Avenue. Like Quantztown, the former farm land in the area has given way to new homes. Only a handful of homes on Peter Street, former George Rodd General Store / Mount Joy Post Office and the old Mount Joy Public School (built 1907 and closed 1969) are left of the former police village.

Milnesville is a historic community of Markham, Ontario on the 8th Line or 8th Concession Road (now as Hwy. 48), between Elgin Mills Road and Major Mackenze Drive, and the Little Rouge Creek.

Locust Hill is a historic community of Markham, Ontario centred on Hwy. 7 and the Canadian Pacific Railway and within the boundaries of the future national Rouge Park.

Mount Joy GO Station is a railway station and bus station in the GO Transit network located in the City of Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the community of Mount Joy, north of the old town of Markham, at the intersection of Markham Road and Bur Oak Avenue and is a stop on the Stouffville line train service. It is also the northern terminus of most of the Stouffville line's off-peak train services.
