Saintfield (from Irish Tamhnaigh Naomh, meaning 'Field of Saints') is a village and civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is about halfway between Belfast and Downpatrick on the A7 road. It had a population of 3,588 in the 2021 Census, made up mostly of commuters working in both south and central Belfast, which is about 18 km away. The population of the surrounding countryside is mostly involved in farming. Running east to west across the A7 is the B6 road, and to the west of this crossroads is Main Street, which takes one towards Lisburn and Ballynahinch, and to the east is Station Road which takes one towards Killyleagh.

Saintfield railway station was on the Belfast and County Down Railway which ran from Belfast to Newcastle, County Down in Northern Ireland.

Ballynahinch Junction railway station was on the Belfast and County Down Railway which ran from Belfast to Newcastle, County Down in Northern Ireland. The railway split off from the Belfast and County Down Railway onto the B&CDR Ballynahinch Branch ending at Ballynahinch station.

Shephard's Bridge Halt was a basic halt on the Belfast and County Down Railway which ran from Belfast Queens Quay station to Newcastle railway station in Northern Ireland. It is about 13.7 miles from Queens Quay station

Listooder is a hamlet and townland situated outside Crossgar towards both Ballynahinch and Saintfield in County Down, Northern Ireland. Listooder derives its name from the Irish word Lios an tSúdaire meaning "fort of the leather tanner" or "ring-fort". From the mid 19th century, the hamlet was known as the Cock, while the townland which centres around the fort was called Listooder. The hamlet has a small working farm, a missionary hall, an Orange Lodge, and a Non-Subscribing Presbyterian church. During the 19th and 20th centuries, Listooder also had a shop, public house, and a primary school. Housing has extended from the crossroads (postbox) towards Saintfield in recent decades. According to the 2011 census, there were then nine houses and 31 people living in Listooder.

Creevyargon Halt railway station was on the Belfast and County Down Railway which ran from Belfast to Ballynahinch in Northern Ireland.

Ravara (from Irish Ráth Bhearach 'fort of heifers') is a rural townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. It has an area of 1242.98 acres (5.03 km2). It is situated in the civil parish of Killinchy and the historic barony of Castlereagh Lower, located just south of Ballygowan. It lies within the Ards and North Down Borough Council.

Ouley Hill is 180 m high and lies in County Down Northern Ireland between Carryduff and Saintfield. Its name is derived from Irish Baile Eochaille '‘townland of the yew-wood’ or simply Eochoillidh ‘yew wood’'It was the site of a battle in the Irish Rebellion of 1798. Ouley Hill is accessible by the Killinure Road which runs across the highest part, there are several side road networks which straddle the peak, including Ouley Road itself.

Carrickmannon (from Irish Carraig Mhanainn 'Manannán’s rock') is a rural townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. It has an area of 1436.5 acres (5.81 km2). It is situated in the civil parish of Killinchy and the historic barony of Castlereagh Upper, located just south of the village, Ballygowan. It lies within the Ards and North Down Borough Council.

Ballygowan railway station was a rural station in Ballygowan, County Down between Comber and Saintfield on the Belfast and County Down Railway which ran from Belfast Queens Quay station to Newcastle railway station in Northern Ireland. The station had only one platform on the south side. There was a level crossing at the Comber end. The goods store on the Saintfield end was added in 1898. The station has since been demolished and rebuilt into a shop and a private residence but the goods shed still stands, now used by the company Station Autos. Part of the former train yard on the west side is now used as a bus depot by Translink Ulsterbus.

Ballygowan (from Irish Baile Mhic Gabhann, meaning 'McGowan's townland') is a village in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is within the Ards and North Down Borough. The town of Comber is a short distance to the north-east, the town of Saintfield to the south, and the city of Belfast further to the north-west. It is within the civil parishes of Killinchy and Comber and is split between the historic baronies of Castlereagh Lower and Castlereagh Upper. It had a population of 3,138 people in the 2021 Census.

In Northern Ireland, the A7 is a major trunk road running 15.0 miles (24.1 km) from Downpatrick, through Crossgar and Saintfield, to Carryduff. Here the A7 joins the A24 (running from Newcastle) at an at-grade roundabout, and continues to Belfast. The section between Carryduff and Saintfield was constructed in the latter half of the 19th century, to bypass Ouley Hill, as the previous route along Old Saintfield Road/Killynure Road was proving too arduous for stagecoach horses.
