Disston Mansion

The North Broad Street Mansion District is a historic district in Lower North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is roughly bounded by Broad, Jefferson, Willington, and Oxford Streets, along the west side of the street it was named for. It comprises 76 contributing buildings and 15 non-contributing buildings over 15 acres.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Muhlenberg School, also known as Bishop Miller Tabernacle Church, is a historic school building located in the Feltonville neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1874–1875, and is a two-story, cross-gabled stone building, six bays wide and three bays deep. It is in the Italianate-style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is a contributing property to the Lower North Philadelphia Speculative Housing Historic District.

Cecil B. Moore is a neighborhood in the North Philadelphia section of the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States named after the late Philadelphia-based civil rights attorney and politician Cecil B. Moore. The district is loosely arranged around the main campus of Temple University. The neighborhood has gentrified due to an influx of Temple students during the past several years. The controversial term “Templetown” was coined by former Temple president Peter J. Liacouras, but has only recently come into wide use after a real estate development company adopted the name. Cecil B. Moore Avenue is the street running parallel to Oxford and Montgomery, intersecting with N. Broad Street in the neighborhood.

The General George G. Meade School is an historic elementary/middle school which is located in the North Central neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Part of the School District of Philadelphia, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, and is a contributing property to the Lower North Philadelphia Speculative Housing Historic District.

The Alfred E. Burk House, colloquially known as the Burk Mansion, is a Gilded Age late Victorian Italian Renaissance style house located at 1500 North Broad Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania now owned by Temple University. Designed by architects Edward P. Simon & David B. Basset and constructed between 1907 and 1909, the building was later altered and enlarged by Louis A. Manfredi first in 1949 and later in 1953. The house was initially commissioned and inhabited by industrialist and leather manufacturer Alfred E. Burk from 1909 until his death in 1921. From 1945-1970, the house served as the headquarters for the Upholsterers International Union of North America, an AFL-affiliated labor union of upholsters and textile workers, among others. In 1971, it was acquired by Temple University’s School of Social Administration. Temple University used the property as a daycare for faculty, staff, and students until its closure in 1995. The building currently sits unoccupied.

The Wagner Free Institute of Science is a natural history museum at 1700 West Montgomery Avenue in north Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 1855, it is a rare surviving example of a Victorian era scientific society, with a museum, research center, library, and educational facilities. Its buildings, developed between 1859 and 1901, present the collections of founder William Wagner in the style of the period, and have been designated a National Historic Landmark for their architecture and state of preservation.

Athletic Grounds was a baseball field located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the 1860s. It was the first home of the Philadelphia Athletics (1860–1876). It was often called the grounds at 15th and Columbia.

The Matthew Baird Mansion is an historic home, now apartment building, located at 814 N. Broad Street, in the Francisville neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1863–1864, and is a four-story, five bay, brownstone faced brick building with 19 rooms in a Late Victorian-style. The mansion consists of the main building, an attached three-story brick back building, and a two-story brick stable. It was built by Matthew Baird (1817–1877), one of the early partners in the Baldwin Locomotive Works.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Liacouras Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose venue which opened in 1997 and was originally named "The Apollo of Temple". The arena was renamed in 2000 for Temple University President, Peter J. Liacouras. It is part of a $107 million, four-building complex along North Broad Street on the Temple University campus in North Philadelphia. The Liacouras Center is the largest indoor, public assembly venue in Philadelphia north of City Hall.

The Edwin Forrest House (a.k.a. Gaul-Forrest House) is a historic house and arts building at 1346 North Broad Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Built in 1853–54, it was from 1880 until 1960 home to the Philadelphia School of Design for Women, at one time one of the nation's largest art schools for women. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1993 for this association.

Philadelphia School of Design for Women (1848–1932) was an art school for women in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Housed in the former Edwin Forrest House at 1346 North Broad Street, under the directorship of Emily Sartain (1886–1920), it became the largest art school for women in the United States. Its faculty included Robert Henri, Samuel Murray and Daniel Garber. In 1932, it merged into what is now the Moore College of Art and Design.
