Bruree (Irish: Brú Rí, meaning 'abode of kings') is a village in south-eastern County Limerick, Ireland, on the River Maigue. It takes its name from the nearby ancient royal fortress, the alternative name of which from the earliest times into the High Middle Ages was Dún Eochair Maigue or the "fortress on the brink of the maigue". Other very old spellings and names include Brugh Righ, and Brugh Ri. The village is in a townland and civil parish of the same name.

Athlacca (historically Athlacka, from Irish: an tÁth Leacach, meaning 'the ford of the flagstones') is a small village in County Limerick, in the south west of Ireland. It is situated 26 km south of Limerick City, on the Morningstar River. The name Athlacca means 'ford of the flagstones', a feature that was once evident under the current St Catherine's Bridge. In the 17th century, the parishes of Dromin and Athlacca amalgamated and became one, and now the parish goes by the name Dromin/Athlacca. There are two pubs in the village, a national school, a playschool and Catholic church. Whilst the Catholic church remains in permanent use, the old Church of Ireland church has been demolished and all that remains is the steeple and gable wall. Athlacca parish extends from Rathcannon in the south to Crean in the north. Athlacca is in a rural area where farming, although in decline, is still the biggest employer.Athlacca most famous parishioners are Jim Cregan, the former European athletics champion, and PP Hogan (deceased 2005), champion horse trainer. The local GAA club is Dromin/Athlacca the club plays hurling and Gaelic football, the club colours are blue and white. The club won the 2013 County Intermediate Hurling Championship beating Knockaderry in the final and as of 2014 were competing at the Premier Intermediate grade. The underage joined up with neighboring parish Banogue in 2008 and formed a new club 'Shamrock Gaels' while in 2016 they changed their name to 'Dromin Athlacca Banogue'. Horse racing also has a following in the area and a point-to-point meeting is held annually.The sheltered housing known as "Dawn Court" was built on the grounds of the old creamery. It was opened by the then President of Ireland, Mary McAleese. The only part of the old creamery left is the chimney staff. Separate to the developments 20 dwellings, there is a sculpture of a high chair (or King's chair) made of green marble; on top of the chair is the scull and antlers of a red deer - in honour of the giant elk that was found in Rathcannon at the turn of the 20th century.

Coshma (Irish: Cois Máighe) is a historical barony in southeast County Limerick, Ireland. Baronies were mainly cadastral rather than administrative units. They acquired modest local taxation and spending functions in the 19th century before being superseded by the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898.

Charleville (Irish: Ráth Luirc or An Ráth) is a town in north County Cork, Ireland. It lies in the Golden Vale, on a tributary of the River Maigue, near the border with County Limerick. Charleville is on the N20 road and is the second-largest town between Limerick and Cork, the largest being Mallow. The Roman Catholic parish of Charleville is within the Diocese of Cloyne. Significant industries in the town include Kerry Co-Op and the construction and services sectors.

Charleville GAA club is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the town of Charleville, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the Cork GAA county board and the Avondhu divisional board.

Charleville railway station is a station on the Cork to Dublin Railway line in Ireland. It is located a mile outside the town of Charleville, mostly in North County Cork, Ireland though the border with County Limerick, Ireland crosses the track alignment diagonally, towards the northern end of the platforms. It is a small station with three through platforms, though the third is rarely used. Although there was a commuter service to Charleville for numerous years, it was discontinued in 2004 due to low take-up. In December 2005, services were further reduced to the station. In particular, the 21:00 services from Heuston to Cork no longer stop there. The station opened on 19 March 1849 and was closed for goods traffic on 6 September 1976.Until March 1967 Charleville was also the junction for the Cork Direct Line, the shorter route between Limerick and Cork which left the[Limerick to Foynes line at Patrickswell.

Meanus (Irish: Méanas) is a small village and townland in County Limerick, Ireland, approximately 19km south of Limerick City. As of the 2011 census, the townland of Meanus had a population of 63 people.The village has a Catholic church, a GAA pitch (Camogue Rovers GAA), two pubs, and a community centre. The Catholic church, Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, was built between 1845 and 1846, and was renovated in 1999.The River Camogue runs close to the village. Nearby villages include Fedamore, Bruff, Athlacca, Croom, and Crecora.

Croom or Crom Castle, also called the Castle of Crom, is a historic castle in the town of Croom, County Limerick, that is notable for its occupation as one of the principal residences of the Kildare branch of the FitzGerald dynasty. Their ancient war cry and motto "Crom a Boo", or in Irish "Crom Abú" or "Crom forever", comes from the strategic fortress. Before the FitzGeralds it was the site of an earlier fortress of the O'Donovans. It is located on a strategic bend in the River Maigue, hence the name Cromadh, or "bend in the river".

Castle Harrison, formerly Castle Dodd, was a great house close to Ballyhea and Charleville, in north County Cork, Ireland. The seat of the Harrison family for some time, the house was demolished in the 1950s.

Ballyhea or Ballyhay (Irish: Bealach Átha, meaning 'way of the ford') is a townland and civil parish in north County Cork, Ireland. Located near to the County Limerick border, the village of Ballyhea lies on the main N20 Cork–Limerick road, 3.5 km south of Charleville. It lies approximately 110 m above sea level.
