Sephardic Museum (Toledo)

The El Greco Museum (in Spanish: Museo del Greco) is located in Toledo, Spain. It celebrates the mannerist painter El Greco (Domenikos Theotokopoulos, 1541–1614), who spent much of his life in Toledo, having been born in Fodele, Crete.

The Synagogue of El Tránsito (Spanish: Sinagoga del Tránsito), also known as the Synagogue of Samuel ha-Levi or Halevi, is a historic synagogue, church, and Sephardic museum in Toledo, Spain. Designed by master mason Don Meir (Mayr) Abdeil, it was built as an annex of the palace of Samuel HaLevi, treasurer to King Peter of Castile, in 1357. The synagogue was converted into a church after the Expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492. It was briefly used as military barracks during the Napoleonic Wars of the early 1800s. It became a museum in 1910, formally known today as the Sephardic Museum. Besides being a historic building, it's also known for its rich stucco decoration, mudéjar style, and women's gallery.

The Convento de San Antonio de Padua is a Franciscan convent located in Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. Dedicated to St Anthony of Padua, the institution was created in 1525 in the former palace of the advisor comunero Don Fernando de Ávalos, confiscated by order of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor because its owner was a comunero. The entrance is Gothic-Mudéjar of the 15th century. The church was designed by Juan Bautista Monegro. The chapter house and the choir, of the same period, conserves a floor of azulejos. Its main altar has an 18th-century Baroque altarpiece. In the side chapels are located the sepulchers of its founders, the De la Fuente family.

The Jewish House (Casa del Judío) is located in the heart of the Jewish quarter of Toledo, in Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It was built in the 14th and 15th centuries. The two areas of main interest are the courtyard, which retains a multitude of yeserias (carved plasterwork), and above all, the basement that was possibly a Jewish liturgical bath or mikveh, whose function was spiritual purification and preparation for some important event in the life of a Jew. During restorations of adjacent rooms, Almagra style hydraulic plastering has been uncovered, as well as a cistern, all of which support the theory about its use. Another element of great relevance for its archaeological study is a piece of wood used as a lintel for access to the basement, where it can observe the work of carving with floral motifs, based on tympanums and scrolls, accompanying an epigraphic repertoire whose transcription says: "Thanks I give you, because you have answered my prayers"; Text related to verses 21 of Psalm 18: "Here is the door of Yahveh, through which the righteous come in." 21 "thanks I give you, because you have answered my prayers, and it has been my salvation", which welcomes all those who are faithful and pure at the interior of the house.

The Flour factory San José, located in Toledo (Spain), is a clear example of the industrial architecture of the late 19th century.

The Palace of Fuensalida, is a palace located in city of Toledo (Castile-La Mancha, Spain) built at the end of the first half of the 15th century by Pedro López de Ayala, the first lord of Fuensalida, is a great example of the Toledan Mudéjar, a historical typology that is scarce in Toledo built heritage, where merge three styles: Gothic, Plateresque and Mudéjar. It is integrated in a big block, which also includes the Taller del Moro and the Iglesia de Santo Tomé, which forms the north façade of the Plaza del Conde. The first Count of Fuensalida, Pedro López de Ayala, carved this house towards 1440 for the mayorazgos of this title, of which was founder. This first Count of Fuensalida, son of the famous Chancellor López de Ayala, was main mayor of Toledo, mayor of the fortresses of the city, and, consequently, retired mayor of the King. Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, despite his pilgrimage, landed in Toledo no less than nineteen homes, and he lived in this Palace while the construction of the Alcázar was completed. In his letters and in its courtyard, the child who would become king, Philip II, experienced some of his childhood experiences, along with his mother, the Empress. Today, a sculpture by Pompeo Leoni representing Isabel of Portugal presides over the courtyard of Fuensalida.

The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca (Spanish: Sinagoga de Santa María La Blanca, lit. 'Synagogue of Saint Mary the White') or Ibn Shoshan Synagogue is a museum and former synagogue in Toledo, Spain. Erected in the late twelfth or early thirteenth century, it is disputably considered the oldest synagogue building in Europe still standing. The building was converted to a Catholic church in the early 15th century. The synagogue is located in the former Jewish quarter of the city between the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes and the Synagogue of El Tránsito. It is one of three preserved synagogues constructed by Jews in a Mudéjar or Moorish style under the rule of the Christian Kingdom of Castile.

The Iglesia de Santo Tomé is a church located in the historical center of the city of Toledo (Spain), and was founded after the reconquest of this city by King Alfonso VI of León. It appears quoted in the 12th century, as constructed on the site of an old mosque of the 11th century. This mosque, together with other mosques in the city, were used as Christian churches without major changes, since in the taking of the city there was no destruction of buildings. However, at the beginning of the 14th century, being in a ruinous state the church was totally rebuilt in charge of Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, Lord of Orgaz, and the old minaret of the mosque was transformed into a bell tower in Mudéjar style. Its fame is mainly due to the fact that it contains the painting The Burial of the Count of Orgaz by El Greco, which can be seen by accessing the back of church.

The Baños del Ángel or Baños de Zeid are an Islamic baths located in the city of Toledo, in Castile-La Mancha, Spain. These are undoubtedly one of the best preserved among the eight that still maintain recognizable structures within the Historic Quarter of Toledo. The restored room corresponds to the warm and, unlike other bathrooms, maintains the hypocaust until today better preserved of the Muslim civil architecture in Toledo. The enhancement of this bath allows, without doubt, allow to expand the knowledge about this type of constructions of Muslim origin that are essential to understand the urban structure, social organization and habits of life in Toledo between the 10th and 13th centuries.

The Tower of San Cristóbal is a Mudéjar tower belonging to the Church of San Cristóbal in Toledo (Spain).

The Cortes of Castilla–La Mancha (Spanish: Cortes de Castilla-La Mancha) is the unicameral legislature of Castilla–La Mancha, an autonomous community of Spain. The Cortes consists of 33 elected deputies. The Cortes of Castilla–La Mancha represent the popular will through 33 deputies elected by universal adult suffrage through the secret ballot.

The Convento de San Clemente is a Renaissance convent located in the city of Toledo, in Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It was founded in the 13th century during the reign of Alfonso X of Castile the Wise (reigned 1252–1284). Inside the building there are a Roman cistern, Mudéjar architecture, remains of the Palacio de los Cervatos and many decorative elements. It is a large building that contains a basements, a refectory, two cloisters, a chapter house, a church, a hallway, the nuns' choir, the portals, cisterns and other dependences. It currently houses a museum dedicated to the marzipan that, according to a historic study and tradition, originated in this convent.
