Igreja de São Martinho

São Martinho (English: Saint Martin) is a civil parish in the municipality of Funchal, on the island of Madeira. The population in 2011 was 26,482, in an area of 7.95 km².

The Praia Formosa is a beach on the Portuguese island of Madeira. It is the fashionable district of Funchal and a popular beach location. Famous residents include Christopher Columbus, Merche Romero, and Cristiano Ronaldo. It is also home to one of Europe's biggest real estate commerce centre, and is known for its night clubs, and cruise and beach resorts.

The Marine Biology Station of Funchal (Portuguese: Estação de Biologia Marinha do Funchal), on the Portuguese island of Madeira, is a research centre owned by the municipality of Funchal and dedicated to research and education on marine sciences. It was inaugurated on 28 September 1999.The station is an observer member of the European Network of Marine Biology stations (MARS), which has around 60 laboratories in Europe. Also, the station is part of the Portuguese Institute of Marine Research (IMAR). Most of these Institute’s members are Portuguese university research laboratories specialized in marine sciences.

Estádio do Marítimo (formerly and often still referred to as Estádio dos Barreiros) is a football stadium in Funchal, Portugal. It is the home stadium of Club Sport Marítimo and although much larger in its heyday, the stadium can now hold 10,932 spectators.The old stadium itself was rather distinctive in design and shape. Built into a Funchal hillside, the stadium offered and still offers views of the bay, city, and the rising Madeiran mountains from its two "banana-shaped" stands that stretch the entire length of the field and curve around most of the running rack, but not entirely. The two stands were both all seated with the bancada nascente being totally uncovered and considerably smaller than the main bancada lateral. Because it was built into the ground, the top of the main stand, complete with its roof was actually only at street level, which required walking down several stairways to reach the stand from the main road. Since 2016 the stadium has stands on every side of the pitch totally covered.

The Pavilhão dos Barreiros is an indoor arena located in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. The facility is home to the roller hockey teams of C.S. Marítimo and Hoquei Clube da Madeira.

Belmond Reid's Palace (a.k.a. Reid's Palace) is a historic hotel located to the west of Funchal Bay in Madeira, Portugal, in an imposing position looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel has sloping gardens. The hotel's complex include more than 40,000 square meters of space designed as a subtropical botanical garden.

The University of Madeira (UMa; Portuguese: Universidade da Madeira, pronounced [univɨɾsiˈðaðɨ ðɐ mɐˈðɐjɾɐ]) is a Portuguese public university, created in 1988 in Funchal, Madeira. The university offers first, second cycle and Doctorate academic degrees in a wide range of fields, in accordance with the Bologna process. It is now under the CMU/Portugal agreement with Carnegie Mellon University, having master programme in Computer Engineering, Human Computer Interaction and Entertainment Technology. Students admitted will be eligible for scholarships and have internship opportunity during the summer break. In addition, Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute, founded in January 2010, is devoted to building international partnership with other educational institutes and industry.

The Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute (M-ITI) is a teaching and research institute of the University of Madeira, headquartered in Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal.

Campo da Imaculada Conceição is a football stadium in Funchal, Portugal. It is currently used for football matches and has a capacity for 1,824 people. The stadium is owned by C.S. Marítimo and forms part of the Complexo Desportivo do Marítimo training facility. The stadium is the home venue of Marítimo's reserve team, Marítimo B, as well as the youth teams.

São Pedro (Portuguese for "Saint Peter") is a civil parish in the municipality of Funchal in the island of Madeira. The population in 2011 was 7,273, in an area of 1.49 km².São Pedro is located north of Sé and central to the municipality, surrounded by the parishes of Santo António, Santa Luzia, Imaculado Coração de Maria, São Roque and São Martinho.
