Happy Valley is an unincorporated rural community in King Township, York Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada.

Strange is an unincorporated community west of King City in King Township, Ontario, Canada. It is directly north of Laskay to the west of Highway 400, and is a sparsely populated agricultural area. Strange was founded as Williamstown in 1841, founded by William Wells who opened a general store. He abandoned his plans to expand the community into a town in 1853 when the Toronto, Simcoe & Lake Huron railway was built through the community of Springhill (now King City) instead of Williamstown. In 1854, the community's first post office closed, but another opened on 1 March 1880 through the efforts of Frederick William Strange, for whom the post office and the community were renamed. Today, only a few residential buildings remain, and only the Presbyterian Church and two graveyards provide links to its past.

The Marylake Augustinian Monastery, also known as Marylake Monastery, Marylake Shrine, or simply Marylake, is an Augustinian monastery in King City, Ontario, Canada. The campus is nearly 1,000 acres (4.0 km2), residing on Keele Street, just north of 15th Sideroad (Bloomington). It is part of the Province of Saint Joseph, the Canadian province of Augustinians which operates under the jurisdiction of the Chicago-based Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel. Marylake is the chief foundation of the Augustinians in Canada, and is now well known as a spiritual centre for the Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto. Marylake generally refers to the complex which includes the property, the monastery and shrine, and which operates a retreat centre. The shrine is named the Our Lady of Grace Shrine, whose title is taken from an Augustinian shrine in Lisbon, Portugal. The monastery motto is One mind and one heart unto God. In 1999, the mendicant order established a school on the property, St. Thomas of Villanova College. It uses the house system, with houses such as St. Augustine, St. Nicholas, St. Rita, and St. Monica.

Villanova College is a high school and middle school in King City, Ontario, Canada. Established by lay educators Paul Paradiso and Grant Purdy with the blessing of the Archdiocese Toronto and in cooperation with the Order of Saint Augustine's friars of Toronto and Marylake Augustinian Monastery. The school campus is within the grounds of this Augustinian monastic foundation in King City. Villanova College offers grades four to twelve and is the first, and only, Canadian institution to become a member of the Augustinian Secondary Education Association. It is a privately operated independent school, officially sponsored by the Augustinian Order.Villanova College is York Region's only independent Catholic school. It offers STEM and AP programs as well as arts, athletic, social outreach and leadership experiences.

Kettleby is an unincorporated community in the northeastern part of King Township in Ontario, Canada. It is located about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) east of Highway 400, 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of Toronto, about 40 kilometres (25 mi) south of Barrie, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) west of Newmarket, and about 50 kilometres (31 mi) east of Orangeville.

The King Heritage & Cultural Centre in King City, Ontario, Canada is a local history museum for the township of King at 2920 King Road. It was previously known as Kinghorn Museum, and is located on what was once known as Kinghorn, now subsumed by King City. Its name was changed to King Township Museum when its operation was transferred from the King Township Historical Society to the municipal government of King in 2000, and to its current name in 2014. It is operated by the King Township Community Services Department.The Museum is affiliated with the Canadian Museums Association (CMA), the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN), and the Virtual Museum of Canada. The King Heritage & Cultural Centre houses the King Township Historical Society, Arts Society King, the township archives, the township museum collection and two exhibition galleries, a performance hall, and four historic buildings.

Glen Echo Park was a naturist club opened in 1955 by Marie and Eddie Todorowsky in King, Ontario. When it closed in 2009, it was the oldest nudist camp in Ontario. The camp featured a children’s swimming pool, a playground, a five-unit motel and a shower area. In 1974, a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) clubhouse was constructed for complete year-round use. In April 2009, after years of trying to sell the camp to nudists, the owners sold the property; in August 2009, it was announced that the camp would close down in October 2009 as it was bought by a private buyer for personal use.The announcement that the club would close effective October 1, 2009 only gave members about a month's notice. The news of the sale and closure came as a surprise to the membership because they had been given repeated assurances that the park would be sold to someone who would maintain it as a nudist club. Because some had significant investments in elaborate cabins that could not easily be moved, many members felt betrayed.Members fought to keep the park open. A September 2009 Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) ruling gave the members an additional year before they would be required to vacate. This ruling was subsequently overturned when the LTB ruled the act did not apply.

Happy Valley Forest is a 6.48 square kilometre provincially significant ecological area, classified as an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. It consists of an upland forest on steeply rolling topography, various wooded swamps, and minor wetland areas (wet meadows, thickets and cattail swamps). A few small kettle ponds are also present. Located on Ordovician bedrock over the Oak Ridges Moraine, the forest attains elevations between 122 and 152 m, increasing westward. The majority of the area is composed of overburden of ice-contract stratified drift of sand, gravel and silt of varying origin (kame, outwash or collapse). Soil types in the forests are predominantly pontytool sandy loam; Brighton sandy loam, King clay loam (southern and western steep areas), and bottomland (along stream banks) are present in small areas. The upland forest is dominated by sugar maple in most areas, and sugar maple and American beech in others, though species such as paper birch, white ash, eastern hemlock, black cherry and red oak are found throughout. The eastern portion is instead dominated by red maple and red oak, interspersed by American beech, paper birch, eastern hemlock and largetooth aspen. In the valleys of this forest can be found largetooth aspen with white birch, red maple and occasional beech, red oak and trembling aspen. Moreover, several kettle depressions and small kettle ponds are present in the area. Supporting over 100 bird species, and numerous other wildlife species, the Happy Valley Forest is recognized for its size and the presence of various rare species. Native and rare species include: Acadian flycatcher (endangered) Hooded warbler (threatened) Jefferson salamander Cerulean warblerThe red-shouldered hawk was a vulnerable species, but as a result of conservation efforts, was reclassified in 2006 and is no longer at risk. Note that the status of the species listed above is for Canada only. None of these species is currently facing global extinction. The forest is also home to the northern flying squirrel and the southern flying squirrel, which depend on trees with holes for nesting and food storage. The southern flying squirrel is at the northern extent of its range in Happy Valley Forest.

Kinghorn Methodist Episcopal Cemetery is located in the Kinghorn community of King, Ontario. The cemetery sits on a hill 300 metres south of King road, on the east side of Jane street. It was established in 1848. Of the 30 headstones that are visible on the site only 24 are still standing. Many have cracked and fallen over with age, and have later been restored and reinforced.
