CFB Rockcliffe

Ottawa/Rockcliffe Airport or Rockcliffe Airport (IATA: YRO, ICAO: CYRO), a former military base, is a non-towered airport located on the south shore of the Ottawa River, 4 nautical miles (7.4 km; 4.6 mi) northeast of Downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The airport is the home of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, which owns the field, and is used and maintained by the Rockcliffe Flying Club.

The Canada Aviation and Space Museum (French: Musée de l'Aviation et de l'Espace du Canada) (formerly the Canada Aviation Museum (Musée de l'aviation du Canada) and National Aeronautical Collection (Collection aéronautique nationale)) is Canada's national aviation history museum. The museum is located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, at Ottawa/Rockcliffe Airport.

The Rockcliffe Yacht Club is a non-profit Yacht club based on the south shore of the Ottawa River near the Ottawa/Rockcliffe Airport in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada north of the Canada Aviation Museum. It is a 100-member “private co-op” style club. The club originally was part of CFB Rockcliffe but changed to a private club in 1984. The club is centred on a concrete ramp originally used to launch RCAF sea planes. The ramp extends 50 feet (15 m) into the water as when the ramp was built, in the 1930s, the level of the Ottawa river was much lower. In 1964, a dam was put across the Ottawa River for the Carillon Generating Station which raised the water level by 9 feet (2.7 m). As a result, the Rockcliffe Yacht Club has one of the best launching ramps on the Ottawa river.

Ottawa/Rockcliffe Water Aerodrome (TC LID: CTR7) is located adjacent to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is a small airport and few Ottawans know of its existence. The airport is the home of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, which owns the field, and is used and maintained by the Rockcliffe Flying Club. The airport land was originally a military rifle range. In 1918 the Royal Flying Corps began using the field behind the range for experimental mail flights, and the Ottawa/Rockcliffe Airport opened officially in 1920 as the Ottawa Air Station, one of the six original airfields opened across Canada by the new Air Board. Since it is on the shore of the Ottawa River and the runways were connected to the riverfront by a road, it was one of very few airports capable of handling and transferring floatplanes on both land and water. It only services seaplanes and its runway, is the river. It is mainly used by the military, general aviation aircraft, and by hikers, tourists and people attempting to access remote locations that are only accessible by air.

Viscount Alexander Park is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. At its maximum extent, the neighbourhood has a population of 5,430 according to the Canada 2011 Census.The neighbourhood includes much of the Rockcliffe Airport and the CFB Ottawa (North). It also includes the Montfort Hospital. Its bounded on the north by the Ottawa River, on the east by Blair Road, on the south by Montreal Road and on the west by the Aviation Parkway. Part of the neighbourhood, east of Codd's Road is also known as Finter. It named for Harold, Viscount Alexander of Tunis, Governor General of Canada from 1946 until 1952.

Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward is a city ward in Ottawa, Ontario. Located in the city's east end, the ward covers the neighbourhoods of New Edinburgh, Manor Park, Rockcliffe Park, Wateridge Village, Overbrook, Lindenlea, Viscount Alexander Park, Carson Meadows, Cardinal Glen, Rockcliffe Mews, Forbes, Castle Heights and part of Carson Grove. Prior to amalgamation, the area was part of Rideau Ward. The name "Rideau Ward" has been applied to this area since New Edinburgh was annexed by Ottawa in 1887. It was first contested in the 1887 municipal election, and was known as New Edinburgh Ward in the 1887 and 1888 elections. This recent incarnation of Rideau Ward was created in 1994 from Overbrook-Forbes Ward and part of By-Rideau Ward. It was initially named Ward 4 before being renamed Rideau in 1995.

Montfort Hospital (French: Hôpital Montfort), commonly shortened to Montfort in both English and French, is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Ottawa. It offers short-term primary and secondary health care, offering service in both the French and English language. The hospital serves over 1.2 million residents of Eastern Ontario, and the Gatineau region of Quebec. Montfort is the only hospital in Ottawa that administers in French and the only Francophone academic healthcare institution west of the province of Quebec.In 2014 and 2018, Montfort was accredited by Accreditation Canada. It was recognized as a "Best Practice Spotlight Organization" from the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO). In June 2013, the hospital was designated a Group A teaching hospital.Montfort trains Francophone healthcare professionals with the help of the hospital's knowledge institute, the Institut du Savoir Montfort (ISM), and in collaboration with its main partners, the University of Ottawa and La Cité college as well as other post-secondary education programs. In 2015, it was ranked as Canada's top 40 research hospitals owing to the activities of ISM-Research. The executive management team is led by chief executive officer Dr. Bernard Leduc. The medical team reports to Chief of Staff Dr. Thierry Daboval. The chair of the board of trustees is Carl Nappert.Montfort opened in 1953. It was secularized in 1970. It expanded in 1992, and again in 2010.

The John Macoun Marsh is a small wetland located on the property of the Beechwood Cemetery, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Maintained and protected by the Beechwood Cemetery, the teachers and students of St. Laurent Academy, a nearby private school, adopted the marsh as a research and conservation area for students. In 2004, the Educarium private school joined with the Jean Vanier Catholic School to continue the education work. To date, almost 1,400 species have been recorded by students there. In 2006, the Macoun Marsh team won international recognition in the Volvo Adventure, an environmental award connected to the United Nations Environmental Program.The marsh name honours Canadian naturalist John Macoun, and was chosen by the students of Educarium. In 2009, the Macoun Marsh team built connections with international youth groups to create the Second International Youth Symposium for Biodiversity. This event brought youth from Barbados, Canada, Honduras, India, Japan, Mexico, and the United States together to share their biodiversity projects. This event was held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They also began work on a Youth Accord (first written in 2005 in Mexico) to present in Japan for the International Year of Biodiversity in 2010.

Manor Park is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on the east side of Rockcliffe Park.The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, on the east by the Aviation Parkway, on the south by Montreal Road and on the west by Birch Road. This area covers Census Tracts 5050060.00 and 5050059.00 which had a combined population of 7,716 as of the Canada 2016 Census. It is an almost exclusively residential area, the great majority of its housing stock having been built in the late 1940s and early 1950s, by a consortium of five Ottawa area developers. Prior to its development, much of the land was slightly marshy treed area, used as riding trails stemming from nearby Mile Circle as well as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables, which remain nearby, and are the home of the Musical Ride. It is well treed, with some notable white pines scattered throughout. The first development in what is now Manor Park appeared in the mid-1920s, and was known as Rockcliffe Annex. Following World War II, Manor Park was built over top of Rockcliffe Annex, becoming Ottawa's first post-war subdivision. The first families moved into the neighbourhood in 1947. When it was built, it was considered to be "Canada's first completely co-ordinated community".The Village of Cardinal Glen sub-neighbourhood began to be built by Timberlay Homes in 1988.A small pocket park is named Anthony Vincent Park, after a former Canadian diplomat. Notable local institutions include Manor Park Public School, and St Columba Anglican Church.

Notre Dame Cemetery, is a Catholic cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 1872, it is the most prominent Catholic cemetery in Ottawa. The cemetery's western edge is located in Vanier, just south of Beechwood Cemetery. Its eastern limit is St. Laurent Boulevard. The cemetery is the final resting place for more than 114,000 people.

Collège catholique Samuel-Genest (CCSG) is a French Catholic junior high and high school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, under the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE). Both junior high and high school sides were combined in 2004 with the fusion of the CCSG (high school) with the junior high schools of Pauline-Vanier and Vision Jeunesse (both in Ottawa, ON). A school uniform is mandatory for the students.

Beechwood Cemetery is the national cemetery of Canada, located in Vanier, Ottawa, Ontario. Over 82,000 Canadians from all walks of life are buried in the cemetery, including Governor General Ramon Hnatyshyn, Prime Minister Robert Borden, and several members of Parliament, premiers, Canadian Armed Forces personnel and veterans, Royal Canadian Mounted Police personnel, Canadian Security Intelligence Service intelligence officers, and Hockey Hall of Famers, alongside other notable Canadians. In addition to being Canada's national cemetery, it is also the national military cemetery of Canada and the national memorial cemetery of the RCMP.
