The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Angels (Spanish: Catedral de Santa María de los Ángeles), also Los Ángeles Cathedral, is the Catholic cathedral of the Diocese of Santa María de Los Ángeles in Chile. It is located in the center of the city, opposite the Plaza de Armas. It was built between the years 1970 and 1972. On the frontis are shown different scenes of the Holy Trinity. The interior of the temple has no columns, so you can see a complete panoramic view. On the altar is the image of Jesus Christ painted in large, work by Pedro Subercaseaux. The interior walls are ornamented with fragments of the Bible and on one side is placed the image of the Virgin of Carmen carved in native wood.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Santa María de Los Ángeles (Latin: Sanctae Mariae Angelorum) is a diocese located in the city of Los Ángeles in the ecclesiastical province of Concepción in Chile.

Los Ángeles (Spanish pronunciation: [los ˈaŋxeles]) is the capital of the province of Bío Bío, in the commune of the same name, in Bío Bío, in the center-south of Chile. It is located between the Laja and Biobío rivers. The population is 186,671 inhabitants (census 2012). The municipality ("comuna") of Los Ángeles has the highest absolute rural population of any Chilean municipality. To the north of the city is Salto del Laja (Laja Falls), and roughly 100 kilometers to the east is the 2,979 meters (9,774 feet) high Antuco volcano, in the Andes mountain range. The city is a gateway for tourists visiting the nearby Laguna del Laja National Park, the location of the volcano. Los Ángeles is served by María Dolores Airport.
