Wister station

Wister is a neighborhood in Northwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is bounded by Chelten Avenue to the north, Germantown Avenue to the west, Belfield Avenue to the east, and Wister Street to the south. Wister is a section within Germantown. The Clarkson-Watson House, Fisher's Lane, Grumblethorpe, Grumblethorpe Tenant House, and Ivy Lodge are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Tom Gola Arena, The Tom, The Gola, is a 3,400-seat multi-purpose arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania situated inside the TruMark Financial Center. It is home to the La Salle University Explorers men's and women's basketball teams as well as its volleyball team. It is named after former Explorers captain and head coach Tom Gola, currently in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The building was opened on February 21, 1998, as the men's basketball team defeated Virginia Tech 74-64. La Salle's Explorers had not played basketball on campus since leaving Wister Hall in 1955, the season after the 1954 NCAA Championship. The Explorers played at the Palestra from 1955 to 1989, the Philadelphia Civic Center from 1989 to 1996, and the First Union Spectrum from 1996 until the arena opened in 1998. In 2021, the arena was equipped with two working smoke machines. In Philadelphia's 2016 Summer Olympics bid, the arena was planned to host fencing.

The TruMark Financial Center, known as the Hayman Center until 2017, is the indoor athletic arena on La Salle University's campus. It is located directly across a walkway from the St. Francis and St. Edwards residence complex. The building was opened in February 1998 from a very large donation from Harry Blake Hayman I. The building was dedicated in the name of his parents; a plaque was placed on the front, inside beside the main doors. Located on the first floor of the building is the main gameday concourse and the six-lane, 25-yard pool area. The TruMark Financial Center hosted the 2007 Philadelphia Catholic League and Public League swimming championships. The second floor is home to the La Salle University Athletic Department and team offices. Also located on the second floor is the Mezzanine level, which overlooks the main entrance. It is only accessible from the main entrance. The third floor houses Tom Gola Arena, the 4,000-seat basketball/volleyball/intramural sports facility. Located in the basement are the team locker rooms, the equipment room, the training and weight rooms and a single squash court. On Monday, April 24, 2017, it was announced that the Hayman Center would be renamed the TruMark Financial Center after its sponsor, one of the region's largest credit unions.

John Glaser Arena (also known as The Glaser) is a 3,000+ seat multi-purpose arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania situated inside TruMark Financial Center. It is home to the La Salle University Explorers men's and women's basketball teams. It is located at the former site of Tom Gola Arena. The arena was named after John E. Glaser who donated the funds to renovate Tom Gola Arena into a new arena. The former arena was named after former Explorers captain and head coach Tom Gola, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Belfield, also known as the Charles Willson Peale House, was the home of Charles Willson Peale from 1810 to 1826, and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965. The Belfield Estate was a 104-acre (42 ha) area of land in the Logan section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, much of which is now a part of La Salle University’s campus.

WEXP was a free-form campus radio station in Philadelphia, which operated for nearly 50 years. The station primarily operated as a very low powered carrier current station, with its coverage limited to the La Salle University campus. At times it was also simulcast over the La Salle TV channel's Second Audio Program (SAP), and distributed over the Internet. Because of its extremely low power, the radio station did not need a license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or receive official call letters. However, the self-assigned identifier of "WEXP", short for "explorer", was adopted. Originally on 640 AM, the carrier current transmissions moved to 530 AM to avoid interference from WWJZ, a new FCC-licensed 50,000 watt station assigned to 640 AM starting around 1992. Towards the end of WEXP's existence, the transmission briefly moved to 1600 kHz AM before suspending broadcasting.

Fisher's Lane is a national historic district located on East Logan Street in the Wister neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The district includes 12 contributing buildings and three contributing structures in a residential section of Wister. The houses are representative of the Second Empire and Italianate-styles of architecture. Specific properties include those at numbers 39, 53, 69, 75 and 81 on the northwest side of East Logan Street and 48, 62, 76, 82 and 90–92 on the southeast side. The artist Joseph Pennell lived at 75 East Logan as a teenager. One of his early works depicting "the ugly house across the street" won a prize in a school art show, presented to him by the state.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Fishers station is an abandoned railroad station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located at 335 East Logan Street. Built by the Reading Railroad, it later served SEPTA Regional Rail's R7 Chestnut Hill East Line. The station was closed in 1992 for the RailWorks project and not reopened due to low ridership. The station's shelters still stand, though the stairs to access them from street level and the underpass from one platform to another have been fenced off.

The Ivy Lodge is an historic American home which is located in the Wister neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

McCarthy Stadium, The Mac, is a 7,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is home to the La Salle University Explorers men's and women's soccer teams. It was previously the home to the university's American football team until it was discontinued in 2007 after a seven-year revival. The facility opened in 1936. Its field is surrounded by a six lane, one-quarter mile track.

Grumblethorpe, in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was the home of the Wister family, who lived there for over 160 years. It was built in 1744 as a summer residence, but it became the family's year-round residence in 1793. It is a museum, part of the Colonial Germantown Historic District.

St. Vincent's Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a former seminary of the Congregation of the Mission, established to train priests for the Eastern United States.
