The Center for Study of Gene Structure and Function (Gene Center) is a consortium of fifty-three researchers (twelve from minority groups underrepresented in the sciences). It is based at Hunter College in Manhattan. It focuses on cross-disciplinary and translational research by promoting dialogue and cooperation among scientists working in diverse biomedical research fields. It is funded by the Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) program of the National Center for Research Resources(NCRR) of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Since its establishment in 1985, the NIH has awarded the Gene Center over $38 million in federal grants. The Gene Center participates in two primary collaboratory networks: Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) and the RCMI Translational Research Network. The CTSC comprises New York City's Weill Cornell Medical College, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, and the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing. The CTSC builds collaborations between the partner institutions and community organizations to accelerate research from the laboratory into patient care, and to improve health outcomes in the community. The partnership was launched in September 2007 with a $49 million award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The RTRN is a coalition of 18 RCMI Programs across the United States. This network integrates clinical, biomedical, and behavioral researchers with health care providers and community leaders into geographically and ethnically diverse research partnerships aimed at improving patient outcomes in areas identified as national public health priorities. The Gene Center also sponsors seminars, colloquia, and annual symposia and funds student researchers at the undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral levels. This support includes translational research opportunities. These students, many of whom are minorities from national and international colleges and universities, have advanced to academic and professional appointments at institutions such as Hunter College, CUNY, George Washington University, Harvard, Johns Hopkins University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the Cancer Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital and National Institutes of Health.

Hunter College is a public university in New York City. It is one of the constituent colleges of the City University of New York and offers studies in more than one hundred undergraduate and postgraduate fields across five schools. It also administers Hunter College High School and Hunter College Elementary School.Hunter was founded in 1870 as a women's college; it first admitted male freshmen in 1946. The main campus has been located on Park Avenue since 1873. In 1943, Eleanor Roosevelt dedicated Franklin Delano Roosevelt's and her former townhouse to the college; the building was reopened in 2010 as the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College. The institution has an 57% undergraduate graduation rate within six years.

The Asia Society is a 501(c) organization that focuses on educating the world about Asia. It has several centers in the United States (Manhattan, Washington, D.C., Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco) and around the world (Hong Kong, Manila, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Melbourne, and Zurich). These centers are overseen by the Society's headquarters in New York City, which includes a museum that exhibits the Rockefeller collection of Asian art and rotating exhibits with pieces from many countries in Asia and Oceania. In January 2021, the Asia Society named former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as its CEO and President. Asia Society has been described as a participant in the Chinese Communist Party's "backchannel" diplomatic efforts.

The Henry P. Davison House is a mansion located on 690 Park Avenue and 69th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. It was constructed for the banker Henry P. Davison in 1917 by Walker & Gillette in the Neo-Georgian style. Since 1952, the building has been the location of the Consulate General of Italy.The House was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1970. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The William Sloane House (also known as the William and Frances Crocker Sloane House) is a mansion located on 686 Park Avenue between 68th and 69th Streets in the Upper East Side of New York City. It was constructed for the industrialist William Sloane and his wife Frances Crocker Sloane in 1919 by Delano & Aldrich in the Colonial Revival style as one of the Park Avenue Houses. It changed ownership multiple times. Today the Italian Cultural Institute of New York is located there, next to the adjacent Italian consulate-general. The House was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1970. It is on the National Register #80002708 (1980).
