Colts Neck Township is a township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is located in the New York Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 9,957, a decrease of 185 (−1.8%) from the 2010 census count of 10,142, which in turn reflected a decline of 2,189 (−17.8%) from the 12,331 counted in the 2000 census.The municipality of Colts Neck Township was initially established by an act of the New Jersey Legislature as Atlantic Township on February 18, 1847, carved from portions of Freehold Township, Middletown Township, and Shrewsbury Township. The name was changed to "Colts Neck Township" as of November 6, 1962, based on the results of a referendum held that day.The township has been ranked as one of the state's highest-income communities. Based on data from the American Community Survey for 2013–2017, Colts Neck residents had a median household income of $167,480, ranked fifth in the state among municipalities with more than 10,000 residents, more than double the statewide median of $76,475.

Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck is a private golf and country club in Colts Neck Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The facility opened in 2005 as Shadow Isle Golf Club, featuring an 18-hole course designed by former U.S. Open champion Jerry Pate, and was acquired by The Trump Organization in 2008. Following the acquisition, golf course architect Tom Fazio oversaw renovations and the club was rebranded under the Trump National name.

Colts Neck Airport (FAA LID: N61) was a small general-aviation airport in Colts Neck Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. It was located just south of the village of Colts Neck at latitude 40.278° N, longitude 74.182° W (near the Route 537/Route 34 intersection). The airport featured turf (grass) runways and served local private and recreational flying (flight training, glider operations, banner towing, etc.) until its closure. At its peak in the 1970s–80s, dozens of light aircraft and sailplanes were based there. The field had minimal facilities: several small hangars (including T‑hangars and a wood-framed main hangar) and an unpaved taxiway. By contrast with larger airports, it had no paved runways, control tower, or advanced services; pilots used a common Unicom frequency and mostly did their own fueling and maintenance. Today, the site of the airport is home to Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck and a neighborhood of McMansions. Established in 1938, Colts Neck Airport first appeared on sectional charts shortly after World War II with a roughly 2,400 ft unpaved runway. Through the 1950s and 1960s it remained a modest grass field, featuring two sod runways arranged in a cross pattern. Activity grew in the 1960s: by 1963 the field accommodated a dozen light aircraft, and by 1970 it hosted over twenty airplanes along with a thriving glider‑towing operation. Under manager Paul Wille in the 1970s and early 1980s, fixed‑base operators Sky Advertising and Wilco Aviation provided flight instruction, banner‑towing, and fueling services. Suburban development pressures ultimately led to its sale to a private developer and formal closure in 2002. Within a decade, all airport structures were removed and the land was rezoned for residential use.

The Hominy Hills are a range of low, gravel-capped hills and upland areas located along the boundary of Colts Neck, Howell and Wall Townships, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and extending east into the Borough of Tinton Falls, formerly part of Shrewsbury Township. The hills attain heights of over 300 feet (91 meters) in elevation, attaining a maximum elevation of 307 feet (94 meters) at Throckmorton Hill, which is the highest point in Howell Township.

Naval Weapons Station Earle, originally known as the Naval Ammunition Depot Earle, is a United States Navy base in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. Its distinguishing feature is a 2.9-mile (4.7 km) pier in Sandy Hook Bay where ammunition can be loaded and unloaded from warships at a safe distance from heavily populated areas. The station is divided into two sections: Mainside, located in parts of Colts Neck Township, Howell Township, Wall Township, and Tinton Falls at 40°15′00″N 74°09′00″W; and the Waterfront Area (which includes the pier complex), on Sandy Hook Bay, located in the Leonardo section of Middletown Township, at 40°24′30″N 74°04′30″W. The areas are connected by Normandy Road, a 15-mile (24 km) military road and rail line that crosses and bypasses multiple public roads.

Hominy Hill Golf Course is a public 18-hole golf course in Colts Neck, New Jersey, operated by the Monmouth County Park System. The course was established in 1964 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones. The course measures 7,049 yards from the blue tees and has a USGA course and slope ratings of 73.8 and 135 from the blue tees. Scattered throughout the course are 138 bunkers, with water coming into play at four holes. Seasonal wildflowers enhance the out-of-play areas. Course amenities include a well-stocked golf center, GHIN handicapping, food concession snack bar, and an immaculately manicured putting green.

Scobeyville is an unincorporated community located within Colts Neck Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The settlement is named for the Scobey family which has inhabited the township since the 1700s. The site housed a one-room schoolhouse, a post office, and a general store. It was known for good fishing on the Yellow Brook which has its basin in Scobyville.

The Colts Neck School District is a comprehensive community public school district serving students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade in Colts Neck Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of three schools, had an enrollment of 955 students and 116.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 8.2:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.The district includes three schools and an administration building. The three schools are based on a PreK-2, 3-5, and 6-8 grade configurations. The Conover Road Primary School, the newest of the three, serves grades PreK-2. The Conover Road School currently serves grades 3-5 and has a functional capacity of 420 pupils. The Cedar Drive School currently serves grades 6-8 and has a functional capacity of 479 pupils. The district's preschool handicapped program is also housed in the Cedar Drive School.Students in public school for ninth through twelfth grades attend Colts Neck High School, along with students from portions of Howell Township. The Freehold Regional High School District serves students from Colts Neck Township, Englishtown, Farmingdale, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Howell Township, Manalapan Township and Marlboro Township. As of the 2020–21 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,316 students and 91.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.4:1.

Colts Neck High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Colts Neck Township, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades and operating as one of the six secondary schools of the Freehold Regional High School District. The school is located at the corner of County Route 537 and Five Points Road. The school serves students from all of Colts Neck Township and from portions of both Howell Township and Marlboro Township. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2008.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,347 students and 92.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.6:1. There were 114 students (8.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 39 (2.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.The school's mascot is the cougar, which was chosen collectively by the student body in a competition. The school's motto is "Let The Tradition Begin."

The North American Phalanx was a secular utopian socialist commune located in Colts Neck Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The community was the longest-lived of about 30 Fourierist Associations in the United States which emerged during a brief burst of popularity during the decade of the 1840s. The North American Phalanx was established in September 1843 and included the active participation of writer Albert Brisbane and newspaper publisher Horace Greeley, two of the leading figures of the Fourierist movement. The Association was disbanded in January 1856, following a catastrophic fire which destroyed a number of the community's productive enterprises. At the time of its termination it was the last of about 30 Fourierist Associations established during the 1840s still in existence and thus was the longest-lived. The main residential dwelling of the phalanx, a three-story wooden structure, stood vacant until it was itself destroyed by fire in November 1972.
