King Zog (statue)

Tirana railway station was the central railway hub of Tirana, Albania. The railway was connected to other cities in Albania including Vlorë and Durrës. The railway station was said to have no luggage office. On 2 September 2013, the station was closed for passenger and freight transport, and was demolished to make room for a new boulevard that leads over the station area to the north. A completely new district will be created. As a result, the Tirana station was moved to Vorë in 2013, and later to renovated Kashar station in May 2015. The former Kashar-Tiranë line around 10 km in length was replaced with a bus service. In the northwestern district of Tirana, Laprakë, a new station will be built, which is planned as a multi-functional terminal for railway, tram and bus. Until its opening, the railway transport between Tirana and Kashar remains closed.

The Zogu I Boulevard or Boulevard Zog I (Albanian: Boulevardi Zogu i parë) (formerly Stalin Boulevard) was the first and the only boulevard at that time and is a major boulevard in Tirana, Albania, named after Zog I of Albania, the King of Albania who ruled the country between 1925 and 1939. It runs in a northerly direction from the central Skanderbeg Square towards the recently completed New Boulevard of Tirana. South of the square the avenue becomes Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, running south. During the communist period, the Boulevard was named 'Stalin Boulevard' and the name was changed after the restoration of democracy in Albania. For the first time the boulevard was named Boulevard Zogu I, and then it was called "Viale del Impero" (Avenue of the Empire), then it was called "Boulevard Mussolini" and then it was divided into two parts, which were called "Boulevard Martyrs of the Nation" and "Stalin Boulevard". This boulevard has been the 'Statue of Liberty' for all those who came to the capital by train, which was the most massive means of transport before the 90s. They came as visitors, as students, they came with work service, etc. It was the most favorite road in Tirana, as it was not only a road of various services, but thousands of romances were born from this road, boys and girls waiting for each other at the train, but also at the Faculty of Sciences. So, the Train street carries a lot of history and the municipality of Tirana has done one of the most beautiful things that has restored the glory of this boulevard, turning it into one of the most visited boulevards in Tirana. It is 35 linear meters wide, increasing the width of the sidewalks on both sides to 8.25 meters. The boulevard has two vehicle lanes on both sides of it, and the material type for both the road and sidewalks is white stone asphalt. On both sides of the boulevard, 4 new squares were built by the Municipality. The first square is the "pocket" square and is paved with stone tiles furnished with greenery. There is also the "village" square, which has a water fountain, which creates the impact of a village center. "Fortuzi" square was built on "Fortuzi" street, and the fourth square is "Universitetit" square, which already has a fantastic image. In 2012, a statue of Zog I was placed in the boulevard in the event of the 100th Anniversary of the Independence of Albania.

The General Directorate of Archives (Albanian: Drejtoria e Përgjithshme e Arkivave) is the national archive of the Republic of Albania, located in Tirana. Under the former control of the Party of Labour of Albania, the directorate houses the papers of the former People's Socialist Republic of Albania, and papers that were held by citizens prior to the regime. Completely modernized to archival standards as of 2004, with help from the Swiss Federal Archives, the archives also houses the Codex Beratinus and the Codex Beratinus II.

The Sheh Dyrri Tekke (Albanian: Teqja e Sheh Dyrrit) or Sheikh Duri Tekke (Turkish: Şeyh Düri Tekkesi) is a teqe in Tirana, Albania. It is a Cultural Monument of Albania.

The Tirana InterContinental Hotel is a hotel located in Tirana, Albania on the corner between central Skanderbeg Square and Zogu I Boulevard. The tower shares the same hotelier complex with lower-rising Tirana International Hotel as an extension. Topped in 2023 and expected for opening in the first quarter of 2025, the hotel stands at 133.5 metres (438 ft) tall and is divided into 33 floors.

Tirana's Rock is a mixed-use skyscraper in Tirana, Albania. Designed by MVRDV, the tower will stand at its completion at 85 meters (297 ft) high divided into 25 floors, and will include residential, commercial, and office spaces. The construction will also be among the world's largest buildings that double as a figurative sculpture. In its case, it will represent the bust of Gjergj Kastrioti (also known as Skanderbeg), one of Albania's Middle Ages main historical figures.

University College Bedër (Albanian: Kolegji Universitar Bedër) is a private non-profit university in Tirana, Albania. It was established in 2011 by the Muslim Community of Albania, thus completing the education cycle started with the reopening of the madrasas in 1991.At the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, Beder University is ranked as the fifth university in Albania. BU is a coed institution. It offers Bachelor, Master of Science and Professional master's degrees in English and Albanian. Two bachelor programs are 100% English. On June 3 of 2013 Beder signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University of Tirana. They have started the construction of their modern campus in Sauk.The current rector is Prof. Dr. Gjergj Sinani.

The Tanners' Bridge (Albanian: Ura e Tabakëve) is an 18th-century Ottoman period stone footbridge located in Tirana, Albania. The bridge, built near the Tanners' Mosque, was once part of the Saint George Road that linked Tirana with the eastern highlands. The road was the route by which livestock and produce entered the city. The bridge crossed the Lanë stream near the area where butcher shops and leather workers were located. The bridge fell into disrepair when the Lanë was diverted in the 1930s. In the 1990s, the bridge was restored for use by pedestrians.

Tifozat Kuq e Zi (English: Red and Black Fans, also known as the Albania National Football Team Supporters Club) is a non-profit football supporters' association for the Albania national football team and various national team sportive activities. It was founded on December 25, 2003. In cooperation with FSHF, it organises trips for football fans to visit games, and develops and sells merchandise to support itself and fund sporting related projects. Tifozat Kuq e Zi stands firm in the political view that Albanians should share only one national team and have continuous aspirations to join in one state (Një Komb, Një Kombëtare), i.e. unification of Albania, Kosovo, etc. In this sense, TKZ is joined by different supporters' associations throughout Albanian-speaking regions mainly in Kosovo (Kuqezinjet e Jakoves of Gjakova, Plisat of Pristina, Torcida of Mitrovica, Shqiponjat of KF Besa Pejë, Forca of Vushtrria, etc.), North Macedonia (Ballistët of Tetovo, Ilirët of Kumanovo, Shvercerat of Skopje, etc.) and in Albania itself (Ultras Guerrils of Partizani Tirana, Tirona Fanatics of KF Tirana, Vllaznit Ultras of Vllaznia Shkodër and many other different Albanian fans). The TKZ have been praised by many different football players and managers, whom were not just Albanian. Switzerland's former coach, Ottmar Hitzfeld was astonished by how many Albanian fans turned up and how enthusiastic they were in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification – UEFA Group E between Switzerland and Albania on 11 September 2012 in Swissporarena, Lucerne, where the Swiss won 2–0 thanks to goals from Gökhan Inler and Kosovo-born Xherdan Shaqiri. He didn't believe that there were 12,000 Albanian fans in the stands which was more than how many Swiss fans turned up for the game. He stated Albanian fans are fantastic and the most passionate fans I have ever seen. During that campaign, TKZ attended all games Albania played apart from a match against Cyprus in Nicosia and were also large in numbers in the away games to Slovenia where Albania lost 1–0 and Norway where Albania won 1–0 thanks to a stunning goal by Hamdi Salihi.

Tirana ( tih-RAH-nə, Albanian pronunciation: [tiˈɾana]; Gheg Albanian: Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. It is among the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe, with 2,544 hours of sun per year.Tirana was founded as a city in 1614 by the Ottoman Albanian general Sylejman Pasha Bargjini and flourished by then around the Old Mosque and the türbe. The area that today corresponds to the city's territory has been continuously inhabited since the Iron Age. It was inhabited by Illyrians, and was most likely the core of the Illyrian Kingdom of the Taulantii, which in Classical Antiquity was centred in the hinterland of Epidamnus. Following the Illyrian Wars it was annexed by Rome and became an integral part of the Roman Empire. The heritage of that period is still evident and represented by the Mosaics of Tirana. Later, in the 5th and 6th centuries, an Early Christian basilica was built around this site. After the Roman Empire split into East and West in the 4th century, its successor the Byzantine Empire took control over most of Albania, and built the Petrelë Castle in the reign of Justinian I. The city was fairly unimportant until the 20th century, when the Congress of Lushnjë proclaimed it as Albania's capital, after the Albanian Declaration of Independence in 1912. Classified as a gamma-world-city, Tirana is the most important economic, financial, political and trade centre in Albania due to its significant location in the centre of the country and its modern air, maritime, rail and road transportation. It is the seat of power of the Government of Albania, with the official residences of the President and Prime Minister of Albania, and the Parliament of Albania. The city was announced as the European Youth Capital for 2022.

Dibër Street (Albanian: Rruga e Dibrës, formerly Rruga Bajram Curri) is a major street in Tirana, Albania. It runs northeast from the central Skanderbeg Square, just south of the Tirana International Hotel. The Mother Teresa Hospital (QSUT) is located on this street.

AMC Love Radio is a radio station based in Tirana, the capital of Albania. The station broadcasts mostly pop ballads.
