Prestonia is a neighborhood five miles southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, U.S. Its boundaries are Preston Highway, Interstate 65, Interstate 264 and the Norfolk Southern Railway tracks. Many of Prestonia's streets are named after Kentucky counties. It was probably named for the local highway (then called Preston Street Road), which was in turn named after early Louisville landowner Col. William Preston.

Lynnview is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 914 at the 2010 census.

Camp Zachary Taylor was a military training camp in Louisville, Kentucky. It opened in 1917, to train soldiers for U.S. involvement in World War I, and was closed three years later. It was initially commanded by Guy Carleton and after the war its commanders included Julius Penn. Its name (and some of its buildings) live on as the Camp Taylor neighborhood of Louisville. It is named for Louisville resident and United States President Zachary Taylor. Not to be confused with Fort Zachary Taylor, a place in Key West Florida used for a military base. The novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald trained at the camp as did actor Louis Wolheim.

Camp Taylor is a neighborhood and former military base six miles southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States. First announced on June 11, 1917, it was originally a military camp named for former president Zachary Taylor. For a time it was America's largest military training camp, housing 47,500 men at one time, and spurred development in an area that was previously dominated by farmland. Most of the camp was dismantled after World War I and a residential neighborhood emerged, composed mostly of small bungalow and Cape Cod homes, many built or purchased by soldiers returning from the war. Many of these buildings were built from lumber and other materials from the dismantled military buildings. The working class community was annexed by Louisville in 1950. F. Scott Fitzgerald was stationed at Camp Taylor and mentions it in his novel The Great Gatsby. Bellarmine University is built on part of the location of the former Camp Taylor.

Louisville Downs was a half-mile Standardbred harness race track located in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It opened in 1966 and held over 3,400 days of harness racing until it was sold to Churchill Downs Inc. in 1991. Louisville Downs was built and managed by William H. King, a Louisville entrepreneur and promoter, who was the first to offer wagering by phone (“Call-a-Bet”) and full card simulcast wagering to television viewers. The track is now the site of Derby City Gaming, a historical racing parlor opened in 2018.

Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (IATA: SDF, ICAO: KSDF, FAA LID: SDF), formerly known as simply Louisville International Airport, is a civil-military airport in Louisville in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The airport covers 1,500 acres (6.1 km2) and has three runways. Its IATA airport code, SDF, is based on the airport's former name, Standiford Field. Despite being called an international airport, it has no regularly-scheduled international passenger flights, but is a port of entry, handling many UPS Airlines international cargo flights through the United Parcel Service's worldwide air hub, often referred to as UPS Worldport.Over 4.2 million passengers and over 5.7 billion pounds (2.89 million tons) of cargo passed through the airport in 2019. It is also the second-busiest in the United States in terms of cargo traffic, and fourth-busiest for such in the world. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a "primary commercial service" airport since it has over 10,000 passenger boardings (enplanements) per year. Federal Aviation Administration records show the airport had 1,877,861 revenue enplanements in 2018, an increase of 11.46% from 1,684,738 in 2017.Because of UPS Airlines' operations, Louisville International Airport is the second-busiest cargo airport in the United States, only falling short of FedEx's SuperHub at Memphis International Airport, and also the world's fourth-busiest airport by cargo traffic, behind Shanghai Pudong, Memphis and Hong Kong. The Kentucky Air National Guard's 123d Airlift Wing operates C-130 transport aircraft from the co-located Louisville Air National Guard Base. On January 16, 2019, the Regional Airport Authority voted to change the name of the airport to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in honor of the boxer and Louisville native Muhammad Ali. On June 6, 2019, the airport unveiled its new logo, featuring "Ali's silhouette, arms up and victorious, against the background of a butterfly."

Edgewood is a neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Fern Valley Road to the south, I-65 to the west and Preston Highway to the north. Streets were laid out in the 1920s, but development was halted by the Great Depression. The area was also far from the city and had poor infrastructure. An improved sewage system after World War II and the large expansion of Standiford Field (now Louisville International Airport) spurred development of Edgewood and its annexation by Louisville in 1957. The airport was increasingly a threat to the neighborhood, with the city buying many houses in the 1980s and noise becoming a problem after the expansion. A voluntary buyout plan was announced in 1996 for all residents of Edgewood.

Audubon is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Clarks Lane to the north, Poplar Level Road to the east, Preston Highway to the west, and the city of Audubon Park to the south. The smaller city of Parkway Village is surrounded by Audubon. George Rogers Clark Park, the site of a cabin owned by the parents of George Rogers Clark, is a prominent feature of the neighborhood. The northern part of the neighborhood was developed by Harold W. Miller in the 1940s, taking advantage of the popularity of nearby Audubon Park, by subdividing the land into small lots and building inexpensive homes. The southern part of the neighborhood became the site of John J. Audubon Elementary School with the remainder being developed as the Glenafton subdivision in the mid-1960s.

Audubon Park is a home rule-class city in central Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,433 as of the 2020 census, down from 1,473 at the 2010 census. It is located about 5 miles (8 km) south of downtown Louisville and is surrounded on all sides by the city of Louisville.

The Mega Cavern is a former limestone mine in Louisville, Kentucky. It stretches under parts of the Watterson Expressway and the Louisville Zoo. Due to the mine's support structures, it is classified as a building and is the largest building in Kentucky. The space is used for business, storage, recycling, and tourism, with offerings including tram-guided tours, zipline tours, a ropes course, an annual holiday lights display, and, previously, a mountain bike park

Kentucky Flyer is a wooden roller coaster located at Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky. The coaster opened on April 28, 2019, to celebrate Kentucky Kingdom's 30th anniversary.

The Louisville Zoological Gardens, commonly known as the Louisville Zoo, is a 134-acre (54 ha) zoo in Louisville, Kentucky, situated in the city's Poplar Level neighborhood. Founded in 1969, the "State Zoo of Kentucky" currently exhibits over 1,200 animals in naturalistic and mixed animal settings representing both geographical areas and Biomes or habitats. The Louisville Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the American Alliance of Museums. The zoo over the last ten years has had annual attendance anywhere from 760,000 to 945,000 visitors.
