Portlick Motte

Portlick Castle is a late medieval tower house castle near the village of Glasson, County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located approximately 6 miles from Athlone on the shores of Lough Ree. It comprises a square late medieval 4-storey stone tower with an attached 2-storey Georgian wing and Victorian tower.

The neighbouring civil parish is: Kilkenny West to the east.

Killinure Point is a peninsula at the south-eastern end of Lough Ree in County Westmeath, Ireland on the River Shannon. Surrounded on three sides by water, it is the south-western peninsula of the Killinure electoral division. Killinure Point is on the mouth of the Inner Lakes namely Killinure Lough, Coosan Lough and Ballykeeran Lough. It is roughly 0.2 km from Coosan Point (by line of sight), which is the opposite side of the narrow waterway forming the mouth of the Inner Lakes.

Lough Ree Lifeboat Station is situated at Coosan Point, on the eastern shore of Lough Ree, the second largest lake on the River Shannon, located in the centre of Ireland in County Westmeath. A lifeboat station was established a Coosan Point on 29 June 2012 by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The station currently operates the B-class (Atlantic 85) Inshore lifeboat, Tara Scougall (B-920), on station since 2019.

The townland stands to the north of Athlone town, on the shores of Killinure Lough. As of the 2011 census, the townland contained no houses and was unpopulated.
