Stank Hall

The White Rose Centre is a shopping centre in the Beeston area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It spans two floors and is near the M621 motorway. It takes its name from the White Rose of York, the traditional symbol of Yorkshire. Most shops are situated on the Ground Floor. The Upper Level mezzanine and ‘The Village’ outdoor expansion houses one of two food courts as well some retail outlets, a Cineworld 11-screen cinema, a Starbucks and an al fresco dining terrace boasting new tenants Wagamama, Prezzo, TGI Fridays and Five Guys among others. It also houses an outdoor children’s play area. Although the centre is smaller than other out-of-town shopping centres, it has attracted large retailers such as Next, JD Sports, Zara, River Island and Marks and Spencer. The centre opened on 25 March 1997 and accommodated major tenants including Sainsbury's, Marks & Spencer, Next, WHSmith, Primark, Zara, H&M, New Look, Boots and most recently Sky, with over 100 other stores and services. It contains eateries such as a McDonald's, KFC, Nando's, Starbucks, Subway, Frankie & Benny's, Chiquito, TGI Fridays, Graveleys, Five Guys, Krispy Kreme,multiple Costa Coffee's and (newly added) Wetherspoons. The centre has 4,800 free car parking spaces, security and on-site police officers. The south part of the centre was re-developed in 2005 downsizing the Sainsbury's Savacentre to a regular Sainsbury's which made space for other units. Argos was moved into Sainsbury's in 2018.The centre has a bus station at the north end of the mall connecting it to suburban areas of Leeds and to the city centre. The centre has won awards including a British Council of Shopping Centre's (BCSC) Gold Award, BCSC Purple apple, and Green apple awards.In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom, the centre suffered the loss of two of its major tenants and most popular stores. Both Debenhams and Topshop closed all stores worldwide and went into administration. The centre also lost a Disney Store, Thorntons and a Thomas Cook travel store.

Elliott Hudson College is a sixth form located in the Beeston area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The college offers A-Level courses for up to 1000 students from the Leeds City Region. Elliott Hudson College is part of The GORSE Academies Trust which also includes Boston Spa Academy, Bruntcliffe Academy, The Farnley Academy, The Morley Academy and The Ruth Gorse Academy.

Cockburn School (formerly Cockburn High School) is a mixed secondary school located in the Beeston area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.The original school on this site was Parkside secondary modern, which was an all-boys school. The headmaster for much of the time was Mr C Wadsworth. It was previously a foundation school administered by Leeds City Council and The Learning Trust (South Leeds). The Learning trust also includes Beeston Primary School, Clapgate Primary School, Hugh Gaitskell Primary School, Lane End Primary School, Middleton Primary School, Middleton St Mary's CE Primary School, St Philip's RC Primary School and Westwood Primary School. However, Cockburn School was converted to academy status in February 2016. The school is now part of a multi-academy trust, and hopes that other schools within The Learning Trust (South Leeds) will convert to academy status and join the trust, whilst continuing to work closely with the partner schools.Cockburn School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils. The school also has a specialism in the performing arts.

White Rose is a planned railway station between Cottingley and Morley railway stations on the Huddersfield Line. It was featured in the Government's plans for the railway in November 2017 and in July 2018 further details were revealed as part of the Connecting Leeds Vision with the consultation inviting opinions from the general public. It is anticipated by the developers that Cottingley railway station will close due to the proximity of the two stations.

Beeston railway station (West Yorkshire) was a railway station situated on the Great Northern Railway on the southern outskirts of Leeds, England.

Churwell railway station served the village of Churwell, West Yorkshire, England from 1848 to 1940 on the Huddersfield line.

Cottingley Towers & Cottingley Heights are twin high-rise towers of rented-flat accommodation on top of a hill in Cottingley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Cottingley Towers & Cottingley Heights were previously the tallest residential buildings in Leeds, with 25 floors each. The towers are 72 metres (236 ft) tall but are not classed as skyscrapers. They were built between 1971-2 and were refurbished in 1989.The towers were once heralded as the tallest residential buildings in Europe. Much has been done to address crime in the area and levels of crime have subsided notably over the past 10 years. When built, it was decided not to put a flat number 13 in either block as some regard 13 to be unlucky, and this was also the first time buildings of this design had been constructed. The Towers and Heights fall within the Beeston and Holbeck ward of the Leeds City Council.

The Recreation Ground, Holbeck held eight first class cricket matches [1]. Yorkshire CCC played 3 county championship games at the site, including a Roses Match in 1868 and the touring Australians twice played there. The Roses Match, the first first class game on the ground, was remarkable in that Lancashire were bowled out for just 30 and 34 and lost the match by an innings and 186 runs, one of the most comprehensive defeats in the long history of the fixture [2]. George Freeman took 12 for 23 in the match while Tom Emmett bagged 8 for 24. Only two centuries were scored on the ground in first class matches, Irwin Grimshaw scoring an unbeaten 122 in Yorkshire's first innings against Derbyshire CCC in 1886 and Billy Bates making 106 in the second. The ground has been lost to development and is currently covered by housing.

Elland Road Greyhound Stadium also known as Leeds Greyhound Stadium was a greyhound racing stadium in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The stadium is not to be confused with the football ground Elland Road or Fullerton Park.

Cottingley is an urban area in the south-west of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Cottingley falls within Beeston and Holbeck ward of the Leeds City Council, and is classed as an area of Beeston. The area includes Cottingley Hall Cemetery and Crematorium, run by the Council.

Churwell is a suburb of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, between Leeds city centre and Morley. It is 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Leeds city centre and 1.5 miles (2 km) away from the Leeds United Elland Road Football Ground. Churwell still retains its semi-rural feel with farms nearby cultivating, in particular, vegetables and rhubarb.

Yorkshire Radio was a British digital radio station serving Yorkshire on DAB. The station was owned by Leeds United A.F.C. and broadcast live coverage of all first-team games, alongside pop music from the 1960s to 2013.
