Academy Gardens is a neighborhood located in Far Northeast Philadelphia. It is located on the eastern side of the Far Northeast. Its approximate boundaries are Pennypack Park, Grant Avenue, the John F. Byrne Golf Course, and Holme Avenue. Originally farm land, it was part of the holdings of Thomas Holme, surveyor for Pennsylvania's founder, William Penn. The zip code is 19114. Academy Gardens was settled in earnest by veterans of World War II during the dramatic expansion of the Northeast. Many of the homes were inexpensive "starter homes" that were largely unfinished to constrain cost. These homes have been extensively remodeled over the years and now largely belie their humble origins. Penn-Academy and Crispin Gardens are the local youth sports organizations. There is little industry but a fair amount of retail trade in the neighborhood, mainly along Willits Road and Holme Avenue. Former prominent residents include Thomas Holme and Lord William J. McBride Jr.

All Saints' Torresdale Episcopal Church is an Episcopal church in the Torresdale neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.The church was founded in 1772, an extension of Philadelphia's Old Trinity Church. The present church building, designed by Frank Wills, was completed in 1855.

Torresdale station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Located at Grant Avenue and James Street in the Torresdale neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, it serves the Trenton Line. It is 14.8 miles from 30th Street Station. In 2017 this station saw 1,160 boardings on an average weekday. Though located on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, Amtrak does not stop at this station. Torresdale has a 331-space parking lot.

Torresdale, also formerly known as Torrisdale, is a neighborhood in the Far Northeast section of Philadelphia. Torresdale is located along the Delaware River between Holmesburg and Bensalem Township in neighboring Bucks County. The adjacent confluence of the Poquessing Creek with the Delaware River had been favored by William Penn's surveyor, Thomas Holme, as the site for the city that Penn planned to found. Although a more southerly site was finally selected, Holme and others acquired property there, where he is buried.

Camp Happy, was a summer camp designed to provide healthy nutrition and fresh air for the underprivileged children of Philadelphia. It was located on a large tract of land near the Delaware River, in Torresdale, Northeast Philadelphia.

Byberry Creek is a 6.0-mile-long (9.7 km) tributary of Poquessing Creek in northeastern Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States.Byberry Creek is formed from two branches that flow through Northeast Philadelphia, Wilsons Run and Waltons Run. Waltons Run, the western stream, flows across land of the Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Wilsons Run, the eastern stream, is sometimes considered a continuation of the main stream Byberry Creek.The two tributaries join to form the main channel of Byberry Creek near Academy Road adjacent to Archbishop Ryan High School as seen in aerial images of the area at coordinates 40.086609°N 74.984436°W / 40.086609; -74.984436. Byberry Creek joins Poquessing Creek approximately one mile before the confluence with the Delaware River.

Jefferson Health - Northeast also known as Aria-Jefferson Health (formerly called Frankford Health Systems, now part of Jefferson Health) is a healthcare system in Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County. It consists of three hospitals and a number of outpatient clinics with a total of 855 beds. In July 2016, Aria and Jefferson Health System announced an official merger.
