Sunnyside Yard is a large coach yard, a railroad yard for passenger cars, in Sunnyside, Queens in New York City.

The Africa Center, formerly known as the Museum for African Art and before that as the Center for African Art, is a museum located at Fifth Avenue and 110th Street in East Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, near the northern end of Fifth Avenue's Museum Mile. Founded in 1984, the museum is "dedicated to increasing public understanding and appreciation of African art and culture." The Museum is also well known for its public education programs that help raise awareness of African culture, and also operates a unique store selling authentic handmade African crafts.The Museum has organized nearly 60 critically acclaimed exhibitions and traveled these to almost 140 venues nationally and internationally, including 15 other countries. Forty of these exhibitions are accompanied by scholarly catalogues.

The 36th Street station is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 36th Street and Northern Boulevard in Queens, it is served by the M train on weekdays, the R train at all times except nights, and the E train at night. The F and trains skip this station when they operate.

The 40th Street–Lowery Street station (announced as simply 40th Street station on trains) is a local station on the IRT Flushing Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the 7 local train at all times.

Berk Trade and Business School, founded in 1940, is one of the oldest trade and vocational schools in New York City. The school's founder, Irving Berk, was committed to trade and vocational education. The school develops entry-level skills for the building trades, specifically plumbing, electrical installation and building maintenance. The Electrical Installation program includes electrical theory and codes; reading of blueprints and schematics; low voltage (8 Volts to 24 Volts) bell and intercom systems; 120 to 240 Volt single-phase and three-phase systems; pipe bending; service work (electrical panels, meter pans; proper grounding and bonding.) Graduates of the 600-hour, 7+1⁄2-month accredited electrical program receive credits towards their Master Electrician's License.The Comprehensive Plumbing program includes soldering, threading, and running of pipes; installation of vanity kitchen and bathroom fixtures; isometric drawings; blueprint reading and codes; boiler and water heater installation, etc.Originally, the school was one of the first trade schools to teach plumbing installation in the country. Mr. Irving Berk was a plumber by trade and later decided to add electrical installation to the school's curriculum. The school also taught other trades, such as nursing and phlebotomy at three different branches before it returned to its original buildings trades model.

The 33rd Street–Rawson Street station (announced as the 33rd Street station on trains) is a local station on the IRT Flushing Line of the New York City Subway. It is located over Queens Boulevard on a concrete viaduct. It is served by the 7 train at all times.

Aviation High School, official name Aviation Career & Technical Education High School (24Q610), is public high school owned and operated by the New York City Department of Education. Formerly known as the Manhattan School of Aviation Trades (SAT), Aviation High School has operated since 1936. It is located in the Long Island City neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queens. The school accepts students from all five boroughs according to the NYC screened school process. The main focus of the school is to train Federal Aviation Administration licensed Airframe and Powerplant technicians. As of the 2017-18 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,086 students and 130 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.0:1. There were 1,033 students (47.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 59 (2.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch. The school had a graduation rate of 95% for the 2017-2018 school year.

The Baccalaureate School for Global Education (BSGE) is a New York City public high school located in the Astoria section of Queens, New York. BSGE was established in 2002. It serves a student body of about 400 students between the 7th and 12th grades. The is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer both the MYP (IB Middle Years Programme) and also the IB Diploma Programme. As per the U.S. News 2018 High School Ranking, BSGE was ranked #9 in the nation, and ranked #1 in New York. Applicants must succeed in an admission test, and satisfy other requirements according to the grade entered. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 476 students and 26.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.8:1. There were 149 students (31.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 54 (11.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Queens Technical High School is a public career and technical education secondary school located in Long Island City, NY. The school has an enrollment of 1,513 students and serves grades 9-12. A new wing, completed in 2005, added a cafeteria, library, gymnasium, and additional classrooms. The following career and technical programs are available to students: Careers in Business, Electrical Design and Installation, Plumbing Design and Technology, Pre-Engineering Electronic Technology, Computer Technology and Information Systems, Cisco networking, Cosmetology Careers/Salon Management, Barbering, and Graphic Design. The school is operated by the New York City Department of Education.

The 39th Avenue station (signed as the 39th Avenue–Dutch Kills station and formerly known as the 39th Avenue–Beebe Avenue station) is a local station on the BMT Astoria Line of the New York City Subway. It is located at 39th Avenue and 31st Street in Long Island City, Queens. The station is served by the N train at all times, as well as by the W train on weekdays.

Middle College High School at LaGuardia Community College (MCHS) is a public high school located on the campus of LaGuardia Community College in the Long Island City neighborhood in Queens, New York City, New York, United States. MCHS houses approximately 500 students in 45-35 Van Dam Street, the former L building of LaGuardia College's campus. It is a school within the New York City Department of Education. It is a member of the Middle College National Consortium.

The Frank Sinatra School of the Arts is an arts high school in Astoria, Queens as part of the New York City Department of Education. The school, founded by Tony Bennett, is a major arts high school in New York City offering high school diplomas in six arts majors including fine art, dance, vocal and instrumental music, drama, and film. Each studio has its own dedicated teachers, classrooms, ensembles, and performances/exhibitions where students may showcase their work to the public. All students must audition for admission. Students in every Studio/Major are also allowed to audition for the Musical Theatre elective class, which in the past has put on performances such as The King and I, Anything Goes, The Secret Garden, Carousel, Footloose the musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Jonathan Larson's RENT, Aida, The Music Man, Ragtime, The Phantom of the Opera and Hairspray. Students can also apply for the Stage Craft class that teaches the students to work as crew for theatre productions and technical theatre. The school has a population of approximately 853 students. Student to teacher ratio is 18:1. The school holds one of the highest graduation rates of New York City public high schools. In 2009, 96% of the senior class graduated with 97% enrolled for college. The class of 2009 additionally completed 17,000 hours of community service while at FSSA. The class of 2013 completed 20,000 hours of community service and its members, as a whole, were granted approximately $120,000 worth of scholarship money. The school had two students win the Posse foundation scholarship in the class of 2013.
