Suwon

Hwaseong Fortress or Suwon Hwaseong is a fortification surrounding the centre of Suwon, the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do, in South Korea. It was built from 1794 to 1796 by King Jeongjo of the Joseon dynasty to house and honour the remains of his father, Prince Sado. Sado had been executed by being locked alive inside a rice chest by his own father King Yeongjo after failing to obey a command to commit suicide. Located 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of Seoul and enclosing much of central Suwon, the fortress includes King Jeongjo's palace Haenggung. The fortress and enclosed palace were designated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997. It comprises among many other features the palace, a perimeter wall, four main gates, and two sluicegates over the Suwoncheon, Suwon's main stream, which flows through the centre of the fortress.

Suwon City Hall is a subway station of the Suin–Bundang Line, the commuter subway line of Korail, the national railway of South Korea. The station was opened in November 2013, as part of the final extension of the Bundang Line. As its name suggests, Suwon City Hall is located right next to the station.

The Catholic University of Korea St. Vincent's Hospital (가톨릭대학교 성빈센트병원) is a medical center in Suwon, South Korea. The number of beds is 900. Hospital is used in the 2010 TV series Master of Study.

Suwon Bus Terminal is the main intercity and express bus station serving Suwon, a city in South Korea's north-west province of Gyeonggi-do. The station is located in Gwonseon-gu, 2.6km south-east of Suwon Station. Standing beside a branch of E-Mart, it is not to be confused with West Suwon Bus Terminal, which is located adjacent to a different branch of the same store.

The Diocese of Suwon (Lat.: Dioecesis Suvonensis) is a particular church of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church. The seat of the Bishop of Suwon is at Jeongjadong Cathedral in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Pope Paul VI created the episcopal see on October 7, 1963. The territory had previously been part of the Archdiocese of Seoul, to which Suwon is suffragan.

Suwon Station is a railway station in the city of Suwon, South Korea. The station was completely redeveloped in 2002 and 2003, and is now integrated with the Aekyung Shopping Mall (AK Plaza). This station serves Inter-city railway Gyeongbu Line KTX, ITX-Saemaeul and Mugunghwa will stop. and Line 1, Suin–Bundang Line of the Seoul subway will stop. And this station is an important hub in southern Gyeonggi Province.

Seryu Station is a station on Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. It is in southern Suwon. Near Seryu Station lies Suwon Air Base, home to the ROKAF's 10th Fighter Wing. It is between Suwon station and Byeongjeom station.

Hyowon High School (Hangul: 효원고등학교) is a public high school located in Suwon, South Korea.

Jeongja-dong is a group of three administrative neighbourhoods of Jangan-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Jeongja-dong (정자동/亭子洞) is also a legal status neighbourhood, though the administrative neighbourhoods' boundaries are wider. The three administrative neighbourhoods comprising Jeongja-dong are Jeongja-1-dong, Jeongja-2-dong, and Jeongja-3-dong. Jeongja-3-dong incorporates part of the legal status neighbourhood Cheoncheon-dong. Jeongja-dong is in central Jangan-gu, though it shares a short border with the city of Uiwang.

MaetanGwonseon Station is a subway station of the Suin–Bundang Line, the commuter subway line of Korail, the national railway of South Korea. The station was opened in November 2013, as part of the final extension of the Bundang Line.

The Suwon World Cup Stadium (수원월드컵경기장) is a football stadium located in Suwon, South Korea. It has been home of the K League 1 team Suwon Samsung Bluewings since 2001. The capacity of the stadium is 44,031.

Yushin High School is a private Christian high school located in Wooman-dong, Paldal-gu Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Republic of Korea.
