Corneen (from Irish: Cornín meaning ‘A Little Round Hill’) is a townland in the civil parish of Templeport, County Cavan, Ireland. It lies in the Roman Catholic parish of Templeport and barony of Tullyhaw. A sub-division is called Millstone Hill, so named because millstones for the local corn mills were quarried there.

Slieve Rushen is a mountain which straddles the border between County Cavan in the Republic of Ireland and County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. It is also called Slieve Russell or Ligavegra (Also Legavagra, Ligavagra). It has an elevation of 404 metres above sea-level. OS 1/50k Mapsheet: 27A & 26. Grid Ref: H234 226. The mountain is made up of grey limestone with a cap of sandstone and shales and is extensively quarried by local companies. The surface is mostly covered with peat, conifer forests and grazing fields. The mountain contains several caves and swallow-holes including Pollnagollum (Slieve Rushen) and Tory Hole which are a popular destination for potholers, both situate in Legavreagra townland. It forms part of the Slieve Rushen Bog Natural Heritage Area [2]. A recent addition to the mountain is the Slieve Rushen Wind Farm for generating electricity.

Bawnboy (Irish: An Bábhún Buí, meaning 'the yellow bawn') is a small village and townland in a valley at the foot of Slieve Rushen, between Ballyconnell and Swanlinbar, in County Cavan, Ireland. A synod of the Roman Catholic Provincial Council of Armagh was held in Owengallees, Baunbuidhe (Bawnboy) on 25 May 1669 where the Bishop of Kilmore, Eugene MacSweeney tried to depose Thomas Fitzsimons, the vicar general of the diocese.Bawnboy is part of the ancient parish of Templeport, birthplace of St Mogue. Its most famous building is a Victorian workhouse, built in 1853, long disused and now derelict.

A sub-division is called Carricknabrock (Irish derived place name, Carraig na Broic, meaning 'The Rock of the Badgers’). Another sub-division is called The Spinks. The 1938 Dúchas folklore collection states- The 'Spinks', in the townland of Aughnakelly in a hollow between Northern and Southern Ireland, is supposed to contain deposits of coal.

The Killycluggin Stone is a decorated stone, found near the town of Killycluggin, County Cavan, in Ireland. Roughly cone-shaped and covered in Iron Age La Tène designs, it was discovered broken in several pieces, partly buried close to a Bronze Age stone circle, inside which it probably once stood. The stone is now housed in the Cavan County Museum, while an imperfect replica stands near the road about 300 metres from the original site.Although now much damaged, the stone can be reconstructed from the different surviving pieces. It was at least 6 feet high. At the base of the stone there were four rectangular adjoining panels measuring 90 cm each in width giving a circumference of 3 m 60 cm when it was first carved. The height of each panel was about 75 cm.

Slieve Rushen Wind Farm is an 18-turbine wind farm in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, with a total capacity of 54 MW, enough to power over 30,000 homes. It was commissioned in April 2008.
