Listowel Castle

Listowel ( LISS-tohl; Irish: Lios Tuathail, meaning 'Tuathal's ringfort', IPA:[ˈlʲɪsˠˈt̪ˠuəhəlʲ]) is a heritage market town in County Kerry, Ireland. It is on the River Feale, 28 km (17 mi) from the county town, Tralee. The town of Listowel had a population of 4,794 according to the 2022 census, the third largest in the county. Listowel is also the name of a townland within the town and an encompassing civil parish.Described by the organisers of Listowel's writers festival as the "Literary Capital of Ireland", a number of internationally known playwrights and authors have lived there, including Bryan MacMahon and John B. Keane.

Listowel Emmets is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Listowel, County Kerry, Ireland. They play in Division 2 of the County Football league and in the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship. Players from the club also compete in the Kerry Senior Football Championship with the divisional side Feale Rangers Notable players from the club include Tim Kennelly, and his 2 sons Tadhg Kennelly and Noel Kennelly.

St Michael's College, is an all-boys secondary school serving the town of Listowel, and the greater north Kerry catchment area. The school is situated on the banks of the River Feale, and on the Cahirdown Road, Listowel.

An Teampall Bán more commonly known by its diminutive name Teampaillin Bán is a famine graveyard located off the Ballybunion road in Listowel, County Kerry. It is the burial ground of over 2,641 victims who died between February 1850 and March 1852 during the Great Famine.

Finuge (Irish: Fionnúig) is a village near Listowel in County Kerry, Ireland. Finuge is a traditional Irish crossroads village with a shop, a pub, Teach Siamsa and a G.A.A. pitch. Sheehan's Thatched House located at Finuge Cross is regarded as one of the oldest surviving authentic thatched houses in Ireland. Conservation experts estimate it at least 300 years old. The village's name is derived from Préachán, meaning crow. Listowel is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) to the north-east, and Tralee is 20 kilometres (12 mi) to the south-west.

Finuge is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Finuge, County Kerry, Ireland. The senior team currently compete in the Kerry Junior Football Championship. They also form part of the Feale Rangers divisional team that play in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. Many of the players also play hurling with Lixnaw in the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship. Players from the club have won a total of 14 Senior All-Ireland Gaelic football medals. The club also supplied the Kerry GAA senior team manager from 2012-2018, Éamonn Fitzmaurice. After he took over from Jack O'Connor, he became the youngest ever Kerry manager at 35. Fitzmaurice managed Kerry to All Ireland glory, winning the Sam Maguire in 2014, whilst also winning one National League, six Munster Championships and two McGrath Cups.

Ballydonoghue GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in north County Kerry, Ireland. It fields Gaelic football teams at underage and adult levels. All teams represent the parish of Ballydonoghue which contains the village of Lisselton. The club's home ground is Denis Dowling Park, Coolard. The club is affiliated to the North Kerry Football Board and is one of six clubs which form the Shannon Rangers divisional side which competes in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. The club was founded during the 1930s following the amalgamation of several smaller teams. Several Ballydonoghue players have played on the Kerry inter-county football team, including three club members who were on the Kerry team that contested the 1947 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final at the Polo Grounds in New York.As of 2023, the club was competing in the Kerry Intermediate Football Championship, Division 3 of the Kerry County Football League and the North Kerry Senior Football Championship. The club has two teams competing in the North Kerry Football League; the first team play in Division 1A and the second team in Division 4. At officiating level, the club are represented by referee Brendan Griffin, one of only two Kerry referees on the GAA's national panel of referees.

St Senan's are a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football club from just outside Listowel in north County Kerry, Ireland. They play North Kerry Division 1, County League Division 3 and Premier Junior Championship Football. They won the Kerry Junior Football Championship in 1985 and 1996. St Senan's won the North Kerry Senior Football Championship for the first time in 2018 and retained the title in 2019.

Clounmacon are a Gaelic football team in north County Kerry in Ireland. They play in Division 5 of the county league. Clounmacon players also participate in the Kerry Senior Football Championship with the divisional side Feale Rangers.

Lyracrumpane, also sometimes spelled Lyreacrompane (Irish: Ladhar an Chrompáin), is a townland in the civil parish of Kilfeighny and the historical barony of Clanmaurice in County Kerry, Ireland. It is in the Stack's Mountains area of North Kerry. The townland, which has an area of approximately 3.9 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi), had a population of 66 as of the 2011 census.Lyreacrompane Community Centre was officially opened, in November 2000, by the then Minister of Justice and Law Reform John O'Donoghue. There are a number of Mass path trails in the nearby Coillte wood. The local national (primary) school, Lyracrompane National School, had an enrollment of 15 children as of January 2024.
