Kayabaşı, Başakşehir

Şamlar is a village in Başakşehir district of İstanbul Province, Turkey. It is situated in the European portion of Turkey, so called Rumeli at 41°07′N 28°44′E to the east of the Sazlıdere Dam reservoir. It is about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northwest of Başakşehir. The population of Şamlar is 3448 as of 2010. The oldest building in the village is a mosque dated 1839. A part of village territory was confiscated during the construction of Sazlıdere Dam. For that part, the government started a new housing project which is now called Yenişamlar ("new Şamlar"). The main economic activities of the village are agriculture, cattle breeding, fishing and some light industries.

Sazlıdere Dam is a reservoir dam in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. The dam supplies the European side of the city and its suburbs with drinking water. The Turkish State Hydraulic Works backed the development of the dam, which was constructed between 1992 and 1996. The reservoir supplies 50 hm³ of drinking water annually.

It was developed jointly by Turkish and Japanese cooperation, symbolized in the name with Çam ve Sakura (English: pine and cherry blossom). The hospital complex opened in May 2020.

It was first opened as part of M3 but in 2021 it was made a part of M9. It is located just north of the Atatürk Olympic Stadium but within the Olympic stadium complex. The station consists of two island platforms servicing three tracks. West of the station lies the Olimpiyat Yard, which houses the dispatcher of the M3 and the M9 line.Olimpiyat station was opened on 22 November 2013.
