Leeland/Third Ward station

High School for Law and Justice (HSLJ), formerly the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (LE/CJ in short), is a high school located in Houston, Texas, United States. The school serves grades 9 through 12 and is a part of the Houston Independent School District. The current campus is in East Downtown.HSLJ is an all-magnet high school that has Houston ISD's magnet program for law enforcement and criminal justice. Children from surrounding neighborhoods are not automatically eligible for HSLJ; pupils in the surrounding area are zoned to Wheatley High School. Prospective students are required to take a test for admission. Students enrolled a HSLJ are taught how to operate in either the Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice Fields. In 2014 the HISD board voted to rename the school the High School for Law and Justice. This was effective in 2016.

Buffalo Stadium was a minor league stadium primarily used by the Houston Buffaloes from 1928 through 1961 (except for 1943 to 1945 because of World War II). It was the site of the first night game between two major league baseball clubs, which took place between the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants in 1931. The Buffaloes were a farm team of the Major League St. Louis Cardinals and provided many great ballplayers to the Cardinals' success in 1930s and 1940s. The arrival of the National League Houston Colt .45s in 1962 brought an end to minor league baseball in Houston. It also went by the names of Buff Stadium and later Busch Stadium. It was bounded by Leeland Street, St. Bernard Street (present-day Cullen Boulevard), Coyle Street, and Milby Street in the East End. The railroad tracks leading to Union Station, site of the Houston Astros' current ballpark, ran behind the center field wall. Near the University of Houston, the stadium was also home to the Houston Cougars baseball team during the 1940s. Before Buff Stadium, baseball teams in Houston played at West End Park from 1905 until 1928; Buff Stadium was built on the East End of Houston. West End Park was located at the southeast corner of Andrews and Heiner Streets, on the southwest edge of present-day downtown. Home plate's specific location, until 2013, was commemorated by a plaque in the Houston Sports Hall of Fame, which comprised part of the Finger Furniture Store.

Coffee Plant/Second Ward is a light rail station in Houston, Texas on the METRORail system. It is served by the Green Line and is located on Harrisburg Boulevard between York and Hutcheson streets. The station is named for the Second Ward neighborhood as well as a former Maxwell House coffee manufacturing plant. In 2006, Maxwell House sold the plant to Maximus Coffee Group which currently operates the plant under the Atlantic Coffee Solutions brand.Coffee Plant/Second Ward station opened on May 23, 2015, as part of the Green Line's first phase.

Yellowstone Academy is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian, private school in the Third Ward, Houston, Texas. Serving pre-kindergarten to grade 4, it was established to educate low-income African-American children in the Third Ward area, and it is one of three Houston area private schools aimed at low income families. It occupies several buildings, including the former Frederick Douglass Elementary School. It previously served middle school students, but is now co-located with Yellowstone College Prep.

The school is within the Houston Independent School District (HISD). The school serves a section of Eastwood. The school has the Environmental Science Magnet Program. Lantrip's building has been designated as a Texas state historic site.

The East Downtown Management District (EDMD), manages the area with offices headquartered at START Houston, a co-working space 1121 Delano Street. The community is located east of Downtown Houston and north of Interstate 45 (Gulf Freeway). It is between the George R. Brown Convention Center and the East End district.The Old Chinatown, an area within East Downtown bounded by Interstate 69/U.S. Route 59, Preston Street, St. Joseph Parkway, and Dowling Street (now Emancipation Avenue), is the older of the two Houston Chinatowns. The East Downtown Chinatown is not the same as the Chinatown in southwestern Houston.

Elgin/Third Ward is a light rail station in Houston, Texas on the METRORail system. It is served by the Purple Line and is located on Scott Street at Elgin Street in the Third Ward. Elgin/Third Ward station opened on May 23, 2015.The station is proposed as a transfer station for the University Line.

The Church of the Redeemer, Episcopal in Houston, Texas is an Episcopal inner city church. During the late 1960s, under Rector Graham Pulkingham and for several decades, it was a center for liturgically based worship and charismatic revival. Redeemer was the origin for the Community of Celebration in the UK and the US, and the traveling worship ministry The Fisherfolk. In March, 2011 the church began sharing the use of a nearby Lutheran church of the same name.

Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park (formerly known as Cougar Field) is a baseball park in Houston, Texas. It is the home field of the Houston Cougars baseball team. Several iterations of the ballpark have existed. The current stadium holds 5,000 people, and opened for baseball in 1995. With a 1,500 square foot Daktronics video board, Schroeder Park features the second-largest scoreboard in college baseball. Since its opening, Schroeder Park has hosted several notable college baseball events. In February 2016, the University of Houston announced that, as a response to a large donation to the baseball program, Cougar Field would be renamed Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park.
