University Collegiate School

The University of Bolton (formerly Bolton Institute of Higher Education, Bolton Institute of Technology or simply Bolton Institute) is a public university in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. It has approximately 6,000 students and 700 academic and professional staff. Around 70% of its students come from Bolton and the North West region. The university is a member of the North West Universities Association, Universities UK and Million+.

Bolton Lads and Girls Club is a youth club and registered charity based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. It is one of the largest youth clubs in the United Kingdom, with a membership of over 4,000 young people. Based in Bolton's town centre, the club is open 7 days a week, 51 weeks a year and welcomes all young people aged 8 to 19 years old (up to 21 for young people with disabilities). Bolton Lads and Girls Club offers a range of targeted and universal provisions including sports, arts, mentoring and community outreach work.

Bolton Muslim Girls' School is a secondary school located in Bolton in the English county of Greater Manchester.It was founded in 1987 as an independent Islamic school for girls by Bolton Muslim Welfare Trust. In 2007 it became a voluntary aided school and part of the state-funded sector administered by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council. In September 2016 the school converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Prosper Multi-Academy Trust. Bolton Muslim Girls' School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils.

Queen's Park is a roughly circular 22 acres (8.9 ha) Victorian park lying on sloping ground to the north-west of Bolton town centre, in Greater Manchester, England. Opened as Bolton Park on 24 May 1866 by Lord Bradford it was renamed in 1897 in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.The park contains flowerbeds, duck ponds, and a children's play area and the River Croal runs through its lower area. A special feature is a series of grade II listed statues on the central terrace, including one of former British prime minister Benjamin Disraeli, John Fielding, a cotton Trade Unionist and James Dorrian, a popular Irish-born local doctor. The entrance lodge, now a cafe, is also a listed building, as is the cenotaph.

Bolton Crook Street passenger station was a purely temporary facility within the Bolton Crook Street goods yard, devised by the LNWR for use while their nearby Great Moor St station was demolished and rebuilt. It was used as such from August 1871 to September 1874, after which it reverted to use solely for goods. The temporary passenger station's exact location within the goods yard is believed to be the goods shed on the eastern side of Chandos Street.Sources differ on whether Great Moor St station reopened in September 1874 or April 1875. The original service to Kenyon Junction was provided continuously from 1831 to 1954, but the new, additional service to Manchester Exchange via Roe Green Junction and Walkden Low Level by the London and North Western Railway which did not start until 1 April 1875, when it ran from Great Moor Street. It is therefore possible that Crook St handed the Kenyon Junction traffic to the new Great Moor Street station in 1874.

Bolton Great Moor Street railway station was the first station in Bolton. It was opened on 11 June 1831 by the Bolton and Leigh Railway. Originally named Bolton, it was renamed Bolton Great Moor Street in October 1849. The original street level station was replaced by a temporary station at Bolton Crook Street Goods Yard on 1 August 1871 while the new station was built in a classic Italian style. It opened either on 1 April 1875 or on 28 September 1874 on the same site as the original station but at a higher level. The rebuilt station had four platforms covered by a roof. Its reconstruction coincided with the building of the direct line to Manchester Exchange via Walkden Low Level by the London and North Western Railway which opened on 1 April 1875. Local trains to and from Kenyon Junction via Chequerbent used the station's western platforms 1 & 2 whilst trains to and from Manchester Exchange via Walkden used Platforms 3 & 4.The station closed for regular passenger use by British Railways on 29 March 1954, although holiday and football specials ran until 1958 and an unadvertised workmen's service to Monton Green continued for some months. An enthusiasts' special visited on 21 September 1963 and on 9 May 1964 another visited the adjacent Crook St goods yard, this was the last passenger train on LNWR lines in the Bolton area.Tracks in the station were lifted in April 1964. The station was demolished in October 1966 and the area redeveloped.

Bolton Museum is a public museum and art gallery in the town of Bolton, Greater Manchester, Northern England, owned by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council. The museum is housed within the grade II listed Le Mans Crescent near Bolton Town Hall and shares its main entrance with the central library in a purpose built civic centre. The building has good accessibility.

Bolton Union Mill was a cotton spinning mill in Halliwell, Bolton, Greater Manchester. It was built in 1875 and 1880. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and brought back into production. Subsequently, it passed to Tootals and Dewhurst Dent in 1964. Production finished in 1967. The building is still standing. It has 15,466 m2 (166,470 sq ft) of floor space and was driven by a 1200 hp tandem compound J Musgrave engine with a 32 ft (9.8 m) flywheel with 28 ropes operated at 50rpm.
