South Ozone Park is a neighborhood in the southwestern section of the New York City borough of Queens. It is just north of John F. Kennedy International Airport, between Aqueduct Racetrack to the west and the Van Wyck Expressway to the east. Adjacent neighborhoods include Ozone Park to the west; Richmond Hill to the north; Jamaica, South Jamaica, and Springfield Gardens to the east; and Howard Beach and Old Howard Beach to the southwest.Rockaway Boulevard is South Ozone Park's main business strip. There is also a high concentration of small businesses along Liberty Avenue, which is also one of South Ozone Park's main source of revenue. South Ozone Park is located in Queens Community District 10 and its ZIP Code is 11420. It is patrolled by the New York City Police Department's 106th Precinct. Politically, South Ozone Park is represented by the New York City Council's 28th and 32nd Districts.

South Jamaica (also commonly known as "The Southside") is a residential neighborhood in the borough of Queens in New York City, located south of downtown Jamaica. Although a proper border has not been established, the neighborhood is a subsection of greater Jamaica bounded by the Long Island Rail Road Main Line tracks, Jamaica Avenue, or Liberty Avenue to the north; the Van Wyck Expressway on the west; Rockaway Boulevard on the south; and Merrick Boulevard on the east, adjoining the neighboring community of St. Albans. Other primary thoroughfares of South Jamaica include Baisley, Foch, Linden, Guy R. Brewer, and Sutphin Boulevards. The 180th Street Business Improvement District is responsible for the development of the area. Considered a slum in the early 20th century, the neighborhood now consists of working-class and middle-class residents. South Jamaica is located in Queens Community District 12 and its ZIP Codes are 11433 through 11436. It is patrolled primarily by the New York City Police Department's 113th Precinct, but also by the 103rd Precinct. Politically, South Jamaica is represented by the New York City Council's 27th and 28th Districts.

The Kennedy Airport Interchange is a large, complex highway interchange located along the northern boundary of John F. Kennedy International Airport in the New York City borough of Queens, in New York, United States.

Robert's Lounge was a saloon located at 114-45 Lefferts Boulevard, in South Ozone Park, Queens, New York City. The saloon was used as a hangout by Paul Vario. The basement was a graveyard for mob victims. A human leg bone and a portion of a human shoulder bone were excavated from the basement on June 6, 1980. The bones were thought to have been those of two of Burke's associates, Thomas DeSimone and Martin Krugman, who went missing a short time after the Lufthansa heist.

Baisley Pond Park is a public park located in the southeastern part of Queens, New York City, bordering the neighborhoods of South Jamaica, Rochdale, and St. Albans. It covers 109.61 acres (44.36 ha), including the 30-acre (12 ha) Baisley Pond in the center of the park. It is maintained by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

Cedar Manor, originally named Power Place was a railroad station along the Atlantic Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, in Queens, New York City. The station opened as a small one-story frame station here in 1906, east of the track and north of what was then called Power Place, which was later renamed 114th Avenue, and finally renamed Linden Boulevard. Cedar Manor was a real estate development covering the neighborhood generally west and north of the crossing of the LIRR with New York Boulevard. Before World War I it was a signal stop only. The station was phased out on January 28, 1959 and the building was razed in February 1959 with grade elimination, and was discontinued as a station stop.

August Martin High School is a New York City public high school located in South Jamaica, Queens, at 156-10 Baisley Boulevard. The school focuses on aviation (students can obtain their pilot's certification while studying there) and other vocational areas. The JFK Expressway is a short freeway connecting the Belt Parkway with John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York City. It interchanges with the Nassau Expressway (New York State Route 878 or NY 878) near the former proposed south end of the Clearview Expressway (Interstate 295 or I-295). The roadway is the newest expressway in New York City, opened in December 1991.

South Jamaica Houses is a housing project in South Jamaica, Queens, New York. It is nicknamed "40 Projects." The original complex, South Jamaica I Houses opened in 1940, while the second complex, South Jamaica II Houses, opened in 1954. The entire complex is bounded by South Road to the north, 160th Street to the east, Brinkerhoff Avenue to the south, and 158th Street to the west.

Don Peppe is an Italian restaurant in South Ozone Park, Queens but was originally in Brooklyn.Don Peppe is a half mile east of Aqueduct Racetrack and is decorated with photographs of thoroughbreds as well as jockey silks. They still have people from the track as customers but not as large as in the past. The racing decorations date back to the 1960s when they moved to Lefferts Boulevard from Brooklyn.Along with Bamonte's, it was one of the restaurants Anthony "Fat Tony" Rabito, a Bonanno crime family Consigliere was forbidden to frequent by his probation officer. Rabito was told to stay away from “hot places” “because they are well known mob hangouts.”Ciro Perrone was so upset that a waiter supposedly spilled a drink on his wife that he ordered his crew, which included Henry Hill, to beat the staffer with lead pipes and bats.

Baisley Park Houses is a housing project in South Jamaica, Queens, New York and completed on April 30, 1961. The development consists of five, 8-story buildings with 386 apartment units for an estimated 1,057 people. It covers a 7.48-acre expanse, and is bordered by the Long Island Rail Road, 116th Avenue, Foch and Guy Brewer Boulevards.. It is owned and managed by New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).

Queens High School for the Sciences at York College (commonly called QHSSYC or QHSS) is a New York City public specialized high school operated by the New York City Department of Education specializing in mathematics and science. It admits students based only on their scores on the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (commonly referred to as the SHSAT). The school was founded in 2002 along with the High School for Math, Science and Engineering at City College and the High School of American Studies at Lehman College. QHSSYC is a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology (NCSSSMST).In 2012, the U.S. News & World Report ranked QHSSYC as the 52nd best "Gold Medal" high school in the United States, and the 8th best "Gold Medal" high school in New York. In 2015, Queens High School for the Sciences at York College was named 3rd in the state and 25th overall in the country for best high schools statewide and nationally. The school is operated by the New York City Department of Education. In 2010, according to the Department of Education annual school reports, QHSSYC had one of the highest graduation rates, test scores, and attendance statistics in New York City, and was assigned the highest possible grade of 'A'.
