The Pennington School is an independent, coeducational college preparatory school for day and boarding students located in Pennington, Mercer County, New Jersey. The school operates for students in sixth through twelfth grades. The Head of School is Dr. William S. Hawkey, who assumed the position in July 2014.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 530 students and 94.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 5.6:1. The school's student body was 58.7% (311) White, 17.2% (91) Asian, 9.2% (49) Black, 8.7% (46) two or more races, 5.8% (31) Hispanic and0.4% (2) American Indian / Alaska Native.Pennington is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools, the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools, and the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1930; the accreditation expires in May 2025.

Pennington Railroad Station is a disused train station in Pennington, Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The station was built in 1882 by the Reading Railroad, and added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 31, 1974.

First Presbyterian Church of Pennington is a historic congregation in Pennington, New Jersey that started in 1709. The current building dates to 1875 after an 1847 Gothic structure burned down the previous year.

Hopewell Valley Vineyards is a winery in Hopewell Township (mailing address is Pennington) in Mercer County, New Jersey. The vineyard was first planted in 2001, and opened to the public in 2003. Hopewell Valley has 25 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 6,000 cases of wine per year. The winery is named for the region where it is located.

The borough is located at the cross-roads between the Delaware Valley region to the southwest and the Raritan Valley region to the northeast. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 2,802, its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 217 (+8.4%) from the 2010 census count of 2,585, which in turn had reflected a decline of 111 (−4.1%) from the 2,696 counted in the 2000 census.

The municipalities that are part of this district are Hopewell Borough, Hopewell Township and Pennington Borough.As of the 2019–20 school year, the district, comprised of six schools, had an enrollment of 3,467 students and 351.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.9:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

The Hart–Hoch House is a historic Federal style home, built c. 1800 in Hopewell Township, Mercer County, New Jersey, USA. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 14, 1973.

The John D. Hart House is a historic home built c. 1800 and located at 54 East Curlis Avenue in Hopewell Township near the borough of Pennington in Mercer County, New Jersey. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1937. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 18, 1972, for its significance in architecture.

The John Welling House is a historic Dutch Colonial home in Pennington, New Jersey that dates to the early 18th century. John Welling moved to the Hopewell valley from Jamaica, New York in 1727 and leased the home and 223 acres (90 ha) farm from Terit Lester, purchasing it the next year. A tradition exists that during the British occupation of Pennington during the American Revolution a Hessian soldier was taken captive in the home. Welling's great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Welling, married John D. Hart who built the adjacent John D. Hart House, which is also on the National Register of Historic Places. The home remained in the Welling family until 1921 and from 1928 until 1973 was home to Congressman Charles R. Howell. The house is a rare example of a Dutch clapboard and shingle house, one of the few remaining in Mercer County.

The Jeremiah Woolsey House is a historic Dutch Colonial home located at 237 Washington Crossing–Pennington Road (County Route 546), southwest of Pennington, in Hopewell Township of Mercer County, New Jersey. Listed as the Jeremiah M. Woolsey House, it was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1936. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 27, 1975, for its significance in architecture and politics/government.

Hopewell Township is a township in Mercer County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Located at the cross-roads between the Delaware Valley region to the southwest and the Raritan Valley region to the northeast, the township considered an exurb of New York City in the New York metropolitan area as defined by the United States Census Bureau, while also directly bordering the Philadelphia metropolitan area, being a part of the Federal Communications Commission's Philadelphia Designated Market Area. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 17,491, its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 187 (+1.1%) from the 2010 census count of 17,304, which in turn reflected an increase of 1,199 (+7.4%) from the 16,105 counted in the 2000 census.The township dates back to February 20, 1700, when the area was still part of Burlington County. One of the earliest European settlers before 1710 was George Woolsey, formerly of Jamaica, Queens (in present-day New York City), whose father was one of the earliest pre-1650 settlers of what was New Amsterdam. His descendants maintained the family farm for over 200 years.The township was formerly the name for one of two portions of 800 acres (3.2 km2) of land purchased in 1714 by William Trent, and was formally set off to Hunterdon County, when that county was created on March 11, 1714. Trenton Township was formed out of this estate on June 3, 1719, later to become the City of Trenton. Hopewell Township was incorporated by Royal charter on March 1, 1755, and was re-incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798, as one of the state's initial group of 104 townships. Hopewell Township became part of Mercer County at its creation on February 22, 1838. Portions of the township were taken to form Marion Township (February 22, 1838, reverted to Hopewell Township on February 14, 1839), the Borough of Pennington (January 31, 1890) and Hopewell Borough (April 14, 1891), with additional portions of the township transferred to both Pennington and Hopewell Borough in 1915.
