The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation (Russian: Министерство обороны Российской Федерации, Минобороны России, informally abbreviated as МО, МО РФ or Minoboron) is the governing body of the Russian Armed Forces. The President of Russia is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and directs the activity of the Ministry. The Defence Minister exercises day-to-day administrative and operational authority over the armed forces. The General Staff executes the president's and the defence minister's instructions and orders. The main building of the ministry, built in the 1940s, is located on Arbatskaya Square, near Arbat Street. Other buildings of the ministry are located throughout the city of Moscow. The supreme body responsible for the Ministry's management and supervision of the Armed Forces is The National Defense Management Center (Национальный центр управления обороной РФ) located on Frunzenskaya Embankment and responsible for the centralization of the Armed Forces' command. The current Russian Minister of Defence is Army General Sergei Shoigu.

Chef's house (Russian: Ше́фский дом) or Tames house (Russian: Тамесов дом) is a historic building in the Khamovniki district in Moscow (Komsomolsky Avenue, house 13). It was built in the late 18th century on the basis of chambers built earlier that century. It is part of the Khamovniki barracks complex. The Chef's House is built in accordance to the classicism style and has the status of an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.

Park Kultury (Russian: Парк культу́ры) is a Moscow Metro station in the Khamovniki District, Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow. It is on the Koltsevaya line (Circle line), between Oktyabrskaya and Kiyevskaya stations. Park Kultury opened on 1 January 1950.

Park Kultury (Russian: Парк Культу́ры, English: Park of Culture) is a Moscow Metro station in the Khamovniki District, Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow. It is on the Sokolnicheskaya line, between Frunzenskaya and Kropotkinskaya stations. Named after the nearby Maxim Gorky Park of Culture and Leisure located across the Moskva River. The station was designed by Nikolai Kolli and opened on 15 May 1935, along with the first phase of the Moscow Metro.

The Museum of Moscow (Russian: Музей Москвы) is one of the oldest museums of the city of Moscow, Russia. Its collection was established on the initiative of Russian scientific community in 1896. The Moscow City Duma gave it a large collection of exhibits. In the 20th century the museum several times changed its name and location. In 1921 the museum was called Moscow Municipal Museum and was located in Sukharev Tower. In 1940 was renamed the Museum of History and Reconstruction of Moscow. In 1987 the museum got its present name.

Fersman Mineralogical Museum (Russian: Минералогический музей им. А. Е. Ферсмана) is one of the largest mineral museums of the world, located in Moscow, Russia. Its collections include more than 135,000 items. Among them natural crystals, geodes, druses and other kinds of mineral treasures. The museum was named after Alexander Fersman.

The Moscow Palace of Youth (Russian: Московский дворец молодёжи), also called Moscow Youth Palace, is an entertainment complex in Moscow, located in the Khamovniki District above the Frunzenskaya metro station. The building was constructed in 1982–1988 according to the designs of architects Yakov Belopolsky, M. E. Belenya, Mykhail Posokhin and Vladimir Khavin.

RIA Novosti (Russian: РИА Новости), sometimes referred to as RIAN (РИАН) or RIA (РИА) is a Russian state-owned domestic news agency. On 9 December 2013 by a decree of Vladimir Putin it was liquidated and its assets and workforce were transferred to the newly created Rossiya Segodnya agency. On 8 April 2014 RIA Novosti was registered as part of the new agency.RIA Novosti is headquartered in Moscow. The chief editor is Anna Gavrilova.
