João Gomes Bridge (Portuguese: Ponte João Gomes) is a bridge in Funchal, the capital city of the Portuguese island of Madeira. It forms part of the VR1, Madeira. It was completed in 1994 and was designed by engineer António José Luís dos Reis. It is 274.5 metres long and stands high at 140 metres.

Santa Maria Maior (Portuguese meaning Saint Mary the Great) is a civil parish in the eastern part of the municipality of Funchal on the island of Madeira. The population in 2011 was 13,352, in an area of 4.86 km2.

The Quinta da Boa Vista is a historic quinta ('estate') and orchid garden in the Santa Maria Maior parish of Funchal on the island of Madeira, overlooking the central and western parts of Funchal. It contains one of the last remaining walled stair terrace gardens of Funchal and continues to draw its water from the levada irrigation system. It was built some time during the late 18th and early 19th century, appearing on Trigo's 1910 Planta Roteiro Cidade do Funchal 1910 map for the first time.

Santa Luzia (Portuguese meaning Saint Lucy) is a parish in the municipality of Funchal in the Madeira Islands. The population in 2011 was 5,866, in an area of 1.34 km².

Campo de Futebol Adelino Rodrigues, also known as Campo do Liceu, is a multi-use stadium, mainly used for football, which is located in the city centre of Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira. The stadium is the current home of União da Bola. The stadium, which has a capacity for approximately 3,000 people in stands placed on three sides of the pitch, is mainly used by local football teams such as CS Madeira and by the University of Madeira teams. Until 2003, the pitch was made up of earth and clay, before it was revamped and laid with a synthetic astroturf surface. From October 2008 to June 2011, the stadium was also used for the home games of C.F. União, having moved from their previous home at the Estádio dos Barreiros. However, after their promotion to the Liga de Honra in 2011, União shared Barreiros once again, as the Campo do Liceu couldn't meet the league's criteria. In December 2019, União returned to Campo do Liceu, as they were relegated from Segunda Liga in 2018. The ground was the temporary home of Marítimo and Nacional from 1954 until 1957 during the reconstruction of the Estádio dos Barreiros.

The Building at 33 Rua do Carmo is an historical building located at 33 Rua do Carmo, Funchal, Madeira. It has been suggested that it could have been projected to be a synagogue.

The Jewish Cemetery of Funchal is a Jewish cemetery located in Rua do Lazareto, Funchal, Madeira. Sephardi Jews as well as Ashkenazi Jews are buried here.

Estádio da Madeira, formerly named Estadio Eng. Rui Alves and informally known as Estádio da Choupana is a football stadium in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. It is primarily used as the home stadium for C.D. Nacional.The stadium is currently able to hold 5,200 people and was built as a one-stand 2,500 seat stadium in 2000, when Nacional moved in. Previously they played their home games at the local municipal stadium, the Estádio dos Barreiros. The stadium is located within the Cidade Desportiva do C.D. Nacional (English: C.D Nacional Sport City), which also includes training pitches and a youth campus called Cristiano Ronaldo Campus Futebol (English: Cristiano Ronaldo Football Campus), named in honour of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Sport City is located in the north of Funchal, high in the mountains of the Choupana district. In January 2007, after a period of construction costing €20 million, the stadium was expanded to 5,200 by the opening of another stand. The stadium currently has only two all-seated stands which run the entire length of the pitch. The two ends of the field are occupied by tall fencing. On 1 June 2007 the stadium was renamed to Estádio da Madeira after the club reached an agreement with the local government to promote the region. The name also symbolises the fact that the stadium is the most modern sports venue on the island of Madeira, though not the biggest. That position is held by the municipal stadium, the Estádio dos Barreiros, home to Nacional's rivals Marítimo. Also in 2007, the academy campus was also renamed to Cristiano Ronaldo Campus Futebol.

The Capela do Corpo Santo or Chapel of Corpo Santo is a 15th century chapel at the end of the old village of Funchal (Rua D. Carlos I 64, 9060-051 Funchal, Portugal). It is dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen, Saint Pedro Gonçalves Telmo, the "Corpo Santo". It is decorated with ceiling paintings, gilded carved wood altars, and sculptures in the Manueline style. It has a gabled façade and the Gothic doorway is all that remains of the original chapel. Major changes were made in the 16th century when the altar was remodelled and window-slits added. Some of the aisle altar paintings date from this period and are attributed to the royal painter Fernao Gomes. The main altar paintings are probably from another paint workshop and have the dates 1615 and 1616 inscribed in the musician angels and the scenes of the Patron Saint's life. The chapel was the centre of an important confraternity, serving as an infirmary for local fishermen and their families, providing humanitarian aid, loaning money and helping the membership's widows.

The Church of Our Lady of the Mount (Portuguese: Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte) is the main church in the civil parish of Monte, in Funchal, Madeira island.

The Fort of São Tiago (Portuguese: Fortaleza de São Tiago) is located in the historical centre (Zona Velha) of Funchal, Madeira.

The Mercado dos Lavradores (English: farmers' market) is a fruit, vegetable, flower and fish market in Funchal, Madeira. The building was designed by Edmundo Tavares and opened on 24 November 1940. The facade, main entrance and fish market contain traditional Azulejo (panels of tiles) depicting regional themes, executed by João Rodrigues. It is divided into a number of smaller squares and stairways that are used as sales venues.On the night of 23 December (known locally as night of the market, Noite do Mercado in Portuguese), it is traditional for locals to meet in the market and surrounding streets singing Christmas songs, dance and drink in the nearby bars, which are open throughout the night to serve traditional drinks and especially the traditional Carne de vinha d'alhos sandwiches.
