White Plains Hospital

Percy Grainger Home and Studio is a historic home located at White Plains, Westchester County, New York. It was built in 1893 and is a two-story, three-bay-wide dwelling with a pyramidal hipped roof in the American Foursquare style. It features a full-width, one-story porch supported by four Doric order columns. The main entrance is a Dutch door. It was the home of musician Percy Grainger from 1921 to his death in 1961.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. was fatally shot by police on November 19, 2011, in White Plains, New York. After his LifeAid medical alert necklace was inadvertently triggered, police came to his home and demanded that he open his front door. Despite his objections and statements that he did not need help, the police broke down Chamberlain's door. According to police, Chamberlain charged at them with a knife and he was tasered, and then fatally shot. Chamberlain was a 68-year-old, black, retired Marine, and a 20-year veteran of the Westchester County Department of Corrections. He wore the medical alert pendant due to a chronic heart problem.The shooting was the topic of the 2019 film The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain.

The Galleria at White Plains is a soon to be defunct shopping mall located in downtown White Plains, New York, US, a commercial and residential suburb 20 miles (32 km) north of New York City. As of 2022, the mall currently maintains such major retail staples as Forever 21, and H&M. On December 21, 2022, it was announced that the Galleria at White Plains will be permanently closing in March 2023 to replace the mall with a mixed use site.

City Center at White Plains is a large mixed-use development shopping complex in downtown White Plains, New York. It features two 35-story apartment and condominium towers, known as The Tower at City Place, 600,000-square-foot (60,000 m2) of retail, restaurants, entertainment space and parking facilities. City Center's opening in 2003 was part of a redevelopment scheme to revitalize downtown White Plains after a decades-long period of real estate and business decline in common with economic issues experienced by similar-sized cities at the end of the twentieth century. Beginning in the 1990s, economic stimulation in the New York City region and the wider national economy spurred growth in the commercial and office leasing markets in White Plains, helping to solidify the city's position as the dominant business center of Westchester County. The City Center is locally known as the spot where New York Knicks players often hang out due to their training facility in Greenburgh, New York, being located just 14 minutes away.

The Tower at City Place (formerly known as Trump Tower) is a 35-story condominium located at 10 City Place in the city of White Plains in Westchester County, New York. It was completed in 2005, and it opened on September 21 of that year with 212 residences and 3 commercial spaces. On August 5, 2021, the condo unit owners voted to remove the Trump brand. A rebranding committee was formed consisting of twenty residents and a new name was chosen. In January 2022, the building's board filed declarations to the condo amendment with the new official name, The Tower at City Place. Full rebranding was completed in May 2022. The building is attached to a municipal parking building whose rooftop holds the outdoor amenities for The Tower at City Place residents. Rooftop amenities include two tennis courts, a putting green, playground, a basketball court, and a 20-meter swimming pool (maximum depth of 4 feet, 8 inches), which is claimed to be "olympic size" in combination with the pool deck and lounge area, BBQ grilling stations and a bar area.

Peoples National Bank and Trust Company Building is a historic bank building located at White Plains, Westchester County, New York. It was built in 1929 and is a nine-story commercial building in the Classical Revival style. It has an L-shaped plan and features highly finished limestone and brick materials and terra cotta ornament at the street level. Above the two-story base, the building remaining stories are built of brick with limestone trim.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The White Plains Armory is a historic building in White Plains, New York, in Westchester County. Located at 65 Mitchell Place/35 South Broadway, the building was built to serve as a National Guard armory. Construction of the building began in 1909 and was completed in 1910. The building was designed by architect James E. Ware. The building was 31,612 square feet and takes up three-quarters of an acre. 49th Separate Company/Company L, 10th Infantry Regiment occupied the armory from 1910 to 1939. From April 1924 to November 1929, the White Plains Armory was the temporary headquarters of Troop K of the New York State Police, after a March 3, 1924 fire destroyed the troop's headquarters at Gedney Farms. The police troop left the Armory in November 1929 after a new headquarters in Hawthorne was completed.Subsequently, the building's tenants were the 106th Infantry Regiment and then the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, Company D, 212th Field Artillery.It is located on the site of the first courthouse where the Declaration of Independence was read on July 11, 1776.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.The building was vacated in 1977. In 1982, it was converted to Armory Plaza, a senior housing complex with a senior center on first floor.

White Plains TransCenter is an intermodal transit center in White Plains, New York. It serves as a terminal/transfer point for many Bee-Line Buses, as well as intercity buses, and taxicabs. The terminal is located along Ferris Avenue north of Hamilton Street (westbound NY 119), diagonally across from the White Plains station of Metro-North Railroad, and includes a parking garage located next door to the railroad station, across that street. Ferris Avenue is a one-way street north of Main Street (eastbound NY 119), and is flanked by northbound and southbound buses only lanes between Hamilton Street and Water Street. The main building of the TransCenter can be found on the block along Ferris Avenue to the west, Water Street to the south, Lexington Avenue to the west, and New Street to the north, which is also covered by the building itself. The parking garage across the street also contains bicycle racks on the northwest corner of Ferris Avenue and New Street, which is also the entrance to the station parking lot north of NY 119.

White Plains station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in White Plains, New York. It is 22.3 miles (35.9 km) from Grand Central Terminal, and the average travel time varies between 33 and 51 minutes (depending on if a train is express or local). With 9,166 daily commuters as of 2006, White Plains is the busiest Metro-North station in Westchester County, the busiest non-terminal or transfer station on the Metro-North system, and the first/last stop outside New York City on most upper Harlem Line express trains. Though it is not a terminal station, White Plains is one of the key stations on the Harlem Line. Its downtown White Plains location is not far from many businesses and office buildings making it very convenient to commuters and making it a stop for all off-peak trains and most peak trains regardless of terminal location. A short walk from the station is the White Plains TransCenter, a terminal/transfer point for many Bee-Line buses as well as intercity buses (Greyhound Lines, Leprechaun Lines, Short Line Bus, and Trailways of New York) and Connecticut Transit's I-Bus to Stamford, Connecticut. Pace University's Graduate Center is located across the street from the White Plains station, while Pace Law School's 12-acre (49,000 m2) campus lies several blocks away on North Broadway. Mercy College, Berkeley College, as well as The College of Westchester are also located within walking distance of the station. The Westchester campus of Fordham University, approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) away, is served by the station. The station is located in the Zone 4 Metro-North fare zone.

The Source at White Plains is a large urban-style shopping complex in downtown White Plains, New York, owned and managed by 'New England Development'. The Source is located next to The Westchester and Crowne Plaza hotel, and features several major brand-name retailers and restaurants including Dick's Sporting Goods, Raymour & Flanigan, The Cheesecake Factory, and Whole Foods Market. The Source opened in 2004 and was built on the site of one of the first suburban branches of Saks Fifth Avenue, which closed in early 2002. The mall is connected to a large 4-story parking garage. Within close proximity of The Source are complementary retail developments such as The Westchester mall (featuring anchor stores Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom), a freestanding Bloomingdale's department store, the City Center at White Plains, and the Galleria at White Plains mall. As of December 2015, the management contract for The Source at White Plains was awarded to The Wilder Companies, based out of Boston and managed by John Tacij. Danone International has established their headquarters at The Source, moving from their previous North White Plains location. Danone took over space on the top floor of the center, which had been vacant since the closure of the three-level Fortunoff store.

The Jacob Purdy House was used as General George Washington's headquarters in 1778 and possibly in 1776 during the Battle of White Plains in the American Revolutionary War. Originally constructed by Samuel Horton, it was purchased by Jacob Purdy's father, Samuel Purdy in 1730. It came into the possession of Jacob Purdy about 1785, in the aftermath of the war when some of the family had fled as United Empire Loyalists.In the 1960s it was repaired and restored, and in 1973 the structure was moved to its present location. A further renovation was conducted around 1980, involving both professional craftsmen and local teenagers in an apprentice program. The Jacob Purdy House is now the headquarters of the White Plains Historical Society. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
