The Wheatsheaf, St Helens

The Sutton Mill Dam is a wildlife nature park and area of open water located in Sutton in the south of St Helens in Merseyside, England. Sandwiched between Clock Face Road, Leach Lane, and Mill Lane, it measures 360 metres in length with a waterfall at its eastern end. The lake is formed from the Sutton Brook, which flows through Sutton from Chester Lane to Jackson Street and ultimately into the St Helens Canal. In 1976, local residents formed the Sutton Mill Dam Action Group to campaign against plans to allow the site to become a dumping ground for industrial waste. As a result of the local community's efforts, the site was officially opened as a wildlife park in 1987 with natural recovery encouraged as opposed to artificial landscaping. The success of the project was recognised on 24 May 1988, when Prince Charles visited Sutton Mill Dam to the delight of a crowd of 200 onlookers. The Sutton Mill Dam is one of the most popular angling locations in St Helens containing roach, bream, gudgeon and carp and the East Sutton Angling Club hosts popular summer contests for young anglers. Robins Lane Halt was a short-lived railway station which served the south of St Helens, England. The unstaffed Halt was on the short "Fast Lines" otherwise known as "The Passenger Lines" which ran from the St Helens to Widnes line at Sutton Oak Junction to the Manchester to Liverpool line next to St Helens Junction station.

Clock Face railway station served the colliery village of Clock Face south of St Helens, England. The station was on the southern section of the St Helens and Runcorn Gap Railway which was later absorbed by the London and North Western Railway.

St Nicholas Church is in New Street, Sutton, Merseyside, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Saint Helens, the Archdeaconry of Warrington and the diocese of Liverpool. Its benefice is combined with those of All Saints, Sutton, and St Michael and All Angels, Sutton. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Sutton is an area of St Helens, Merseyside, and Ward of the metropolitan borough of the same name. The population of the ward taken at the 2011 census was 12,003.Historically within Lancashire, it is one of the four townships along with Eccleston, Parr and Windle that formed the municipal borough of St Helens in 1868.

Hays Chemicals had a factory in the Sutton area of St Helens, England. The factory was controversial, locally, for actual and feared escapes of toxic chemicals.The factory was the last customer to use the remains of the St Helens and Runcorn Gap Railway's original main line. Trains accessed the factory from the north, leaving the Liverpool to Wigan Line at St Helens Central Station Junction and travelling through Peasley Cross. In its final years the tracks south of the factory had been lifted. Hays closed in April 2002. Trains continued until 27 September of that year. The factory has since been levelled.The track was left in place after closure. At August 2015 it was plainly visible heading away southeast from the south end of St Helens Central, though pallisade fencing crosses the line.

The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

St Helens Junction railway station is a railway station serving St Helens, Merseyside, England. It is in Sutton, three miles southeast of St Helens town centre. The station is on the electrified northern route of the Liverpool to Manchester Line, 12 miles (19 km) east of Liverpool Lime Street (on the former Liverpool and Manchester Railway). The station and all trains calling there are presently operated by Northern Trains.

Clock Face is a village and area of St Helens, England, 5.6 km (3.5 mi) south of the town centre. It is a ward within the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens and forms part of the parish of Bold. Historically a part of Lancashire, the village and area is so named because of a large clock face that adorned the Inn. The name was also adopted by a colliery in the area. The Clock Face public house, although not the original building, is built close to the original location and maintains the naming tradition.

Lea Green railway station is in St Helens, Merseyside, England, three miles south of the town centre near the suburb of Clock Face. The station is on the electrified northern route of the two Liverpool to Manchester lines, 10+3⁄4 miles (17 km) east of Liverpool Lime Street. Northern Trains operates the station with Merseytravel sponsorship displaying Merseytravel signs. Constructed in 2000, the station has a park and ride car park fitted with charging points for electrically-powered vehicles, a modern CCTV security system and a booking office at street level.
