The Fredensborg Houses (Danish: Fredensborghusene) form a housing complex in natural surroundings on the outskirts of the small town of Fredensborg in the north of Zealand, Denmark. The houses were designed by Jørn Utzon for Danes who have worked for long periods abroad.

Lille Rolighed is a late 18th-century, thatched house situated on the street that leads up to Fredensborg Palace in Fredensborg, Denmark. The garden features the grave of embroidery artist Cathrine Marie Møller. The house from 1777 (extended in 1820), an outhouse from 1840 and Møller's tomb were listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1964,

Dorothealyst is an 18th-century house situated on the street that leads up to Fredensborg Palace in Fredensborg, Denmark. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1970.

Jægergården, situated at Kronprinsensvej 3, close to Fredensborg Palace, is one of the oldest surviving houses in Fredensborg, Denmark. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1970.

Kratbjerg halt is a railway halt serving the district of Kratbjerg in the western part of the town of Fredensborg in North Zealand, Denmark. The halt is located on the Little North Line from Helsingør to Hillerød. The train services are currently operated by the railway company Lokaltog which runs frequent local train services between Helsingør station and Hillerød station.

The Little North Line (Danish: Lille Nord) is a local railway line which runs between Hillerød and Helsingør in North Zealand north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The most important town along the route is Fredensborg, home to Fredensborg Palace, one of the Danish Royal Family's two main residences. The railway line is standard gauge and single track, and the distance from Hillerød to Helsingør is 20.8 kilometres (12.9 mi). The railway opened in 1864 as part of the North Line between Copenhagen and Helsingør by way of Hillerød. The line now constitutes the northernmost section of the original North Line which has not been electrified to form part of Copenhagen's commuter rail network, the S-train. The railway is owned by Hovedstadens Lokalbaner and operated by the railway company Lokaltog which runs frequent local train services between Hillerød station and Helsingør station.

Michael Rosings Minde (lit. "Michael Rosing's Memory"), Helsingørsvej 3, is a house in Fredensborg, Denmark. It was built in 1873 to designs by Johan Daniel Herholdt. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1980.

Fredensborg Kommune is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Hovedstaden (Capital Region). The municipality covers an area of 112.13 km2 and has a total population of 41,689 (as of 1. January 2023). Its mayor, since 2010, is Thomas Lykke Pedersen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The municipality was created on 1 January 2007, in a merger of the former municipalities of Karlebo Kommune and Fredensborg-Humlebæk Kommune. Fredensborg Palace is the Danish Royal Family’s spring and autumn residence. Queen Ingrid of Denmark and Prince Consort Henrik died there.

Until 1 January 2007 Fredensborg-Humlebæk Kommune was a municipality (Danish, kommune) on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 72 km², and had a total population of 20,024 (2005). Its last mayor was John Hemming, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party. The site of its municipal council was in Fredensborg. The municipality was a conglomerate of several small towns, the two major ones being Fredensborg and Humlebæk. Fredensborg-Humlebæk municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Karlebo Kommune municipality to form the new Fredensborg Kommune. This created a municipality with an area of 112 km² and a total population of 39,187 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region").

Lake Esrum (Danish: Esrum Sø, pronounced [ˈesʁɔm ˈsøˀ]) is the largest lake in Denmark by water volume and the second-largest lake by surface area, after lake Arresø. It is situated in the central part of North Zealand (the northeastern region of Zealand), straddling the boundaries of the municipalities Hillerød, Fredensborg, Helsingør and Gribskov, some 40 kilometres north of Copenhagen. The lake covers 17 km2, Its length from north to south is 8.4 km and its maximum depth is 22 m. Its principal drainage is Esrum Å, a 10-km stream which passes Esrum Watermill and the remains of Esrum Abbey on its way to the Kattegat at Dronningmølle. The western shore of the lake is dominated by Gribskov, one of Denmark's largest forests, and the small town of Nødebo. Fredensborg Palace, one of the official residences of the Danish Royal Family, with its extensive gardens, is situated on the southeast shore. Boat trips operate on the lake from Sørup, a village just south of the palace gardens.
