The Roe Valley Country Park is a forested area containing part of the River Roe, south west of Limavady, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is maintained by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, which is part of the Department of the Environment of Northern Ireland. The park is approximately three miles (4.8 km) long and consists of mainly deciduous, riparian woodland on each side of the Roe. The terrain next to the river is mostly steep sided gorge, with some areas of flat grassland on the northwest bank. As the river has a large, freely draining catchment area, it significantly increases in volume and speed soon after heavy rain. This is most visible around the visitor centre, where the river is forced through a narrow section of the gorge. The river is known for the legend of the dog who leaped the river Roe, fleeing enemies to warn the O'Cahan's of Limavady of danger via a message in its mouth.

Tamlaght Finlagan Monastery was an early religious settlement in Tamlaght Finlagan, Ballykelly, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.The monastery was founded in 585 AD. The name of the monastery means "The plague monument of St. Findluganus". Findluganus was an associate of St. Columba, who attended the Drumceatt Synod of 574 AD. The abbey became a parish church and is mentioned in some papal paperwork in 1291. However, by 1622 the church was in ruins, which can still be seen today.

Limavady Castle (Léim an Mhadaidh), also known as O'Cahans Castle, is a ruined castle in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It was once a stronghold of the O'Cahans. In 1542, the MacQuillans, accompanied by James Butler, 9th Earl of Ormond, the Lord High Treasurer of Ireland and a large body of English, besieged and took the castle, slaughtering the whole garrison.

St Mary's High School is a Catholic secondary school situated in the town of Limavady, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

Limavady Grammar School is a co-educational 11-18 selective grammar school in Limavady, County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Situated on the Ballyquin Road, it is close to other schools in the town, including Limavady High School and St. Mary's High School. In 2008, the school was placed 139th in The Times school league table for the UK, which is based on both GCSE and A-level results. The school is non-denominational and features a broad mix of pupils from different communities in the County Londonderry area, and currently enrolls 910 pupils. The admission policy of the school is based on academic selection and Year 8 students are admitted in order of score in the AQE common entrance assessment. Limavady Grammar School follows a common curriculum, with options added at GCSE and A-level. Due to the foundation of the Limavady Post-Primary Learning Partnership in 2002, A-level students can study certain subjects outside of school on link courses, with the other secondary schools in Limavady and the North West Regional College.The mission statement is "Learning, Caring, Preparing for Life".

Limavady High School is a secondary school in the Limavady, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It currently has around 800 pupils enrolled. The school is part of the Limavady Learning Partnership.

Limavady Borough Council (Irish: Comhairle Bhuirg Léim an Mhadaidh) was a local government body in Northern Ireland. In May 2015 it merged with Coleraine Borough Council, Ballymoney Borough Council and Moyle District Council under local government reorganisation in Northern Ireland to become Causeway Coast and Glens District Council. Its headquarters were in the town of Limavady, although 63% of the population lived in a rural setting. It covered an area of 586 square kilometres and included the valley of the River Roe. It stretched from the Sperrin Mountains in the south to Benone beach, a seven-mile strand on the Atlantic coast which was the first beach in Northern Ireland to be awarded a Blue Flag. Apart from Limavady other towns in the area included Dungiven and Ballykelly.The Limavady Borough Council area consisted of three electoral areas: Limavady Town, Benbradagh and Bellarena. The council was established in 1973 and was made up of 15 members who were elected (normally for a four-year term) using a single transferable vote system. Together with the neighbouring district of Coleraine, it formed the East Londonderry constituency for elections to the Westminster Parliament and Northern Ireland Assembly. At the last election in 2011 members from the following political parties were elected: 6 Sinn Féin, 3 Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP), 3 Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), 2 Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) and 1 Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV). The posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor were usually rotated annually among the political representatives of the two main traditions within the community as part of the partnership process operated by the council. In June 2013, the Mayor was Councillor Gerry Mullan (SDLP) and the Deputy Mayor was Councillor James McCorkell (DUP).

The Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre, formerly the Alexander Memorial Hall and originally Limavady Town Hall, is a civic venue in Main Street in Limavady, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The structure, which incorporates the façade of the old town hall, was previously a Grade B1 listed building but was delisted in July 1998 to facilitate the demolition of the structure behind the façade and the subsequent erection of a new cultural centre.

Limavady railway station served Limavady in County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. The Londonderry and Coleraine Railway opened the station on 29 December 1852.It closed on 3 July 1950.

Limavady (; from Irish Léim an Mhadaidh 'leap of the dog') is a market town in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, with Binevenagh as a backdrop. Lying 17 miles (27 km) east of Derry and 14 miles (23 km) southwest of Coleraine, Limavady had a population of 11,279 people at the 2021 Census. In the 40 years between 1971 and 2011, Limavady's population nearly doubled. Limavady is within Causeway Coast and Glens Borough. From 1988 to 2004, a total of 1,332 dwellings were built in the town, mainly at Bovally along the southeastern edge of the town. The large industrial estate at Aghanloo is 2 miles (3 km) north of the town.
