The Dublin–Galway Greenway is a partially completed 'coast-to-coast' greenway and partial rail trail, in Ireland, funded by the Department of Transport, which is due to become the western section of EuroVelo EV2, a cycle route from Galway, Ireland, crossing Europe and ending in Moscow, Russia. The 276 km route was planned to be completed by 2020. It is due to be the fourth greenway in Ireland, after the Great Southern Trail, the Great Western Greenway and the Waterford Greenway.

Moylisker (Irish: Maoileiscir) is a civil parish in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located about 6.14 kilometres (4 mi) south of Mullingar. Moylisker is one of 10 civil parishes in the barony of Fartullagh in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 2,286.3 acres (9.252 km2). Moylisker civil parish comprises 8 townlands: Anneville a.k.a. Rathduff, Belvidere, Dunboden Demesne, Paslicktown, Prebaun, Rathduff a.k.a. Anneville, Rochfort Demesne, Tallyho and Tyrrellstown. The neighbouring civil parishes are: Lynn to the north, Enniscoffey to the east and Carrick and Kilbride to the south.

The townland is to the south of Mullingar, and the north of Rochfortbridge. Beggstown, which is 0.33 square kilometres (0.13 sq mi) in area, had no recorded population as of the 2011 census.

Mullingar ( mul-in-GAR; Irish: An Muileann gCearr, meaning 'the left-hand mill') is the county town of County Westmeath in Ireland. It is the third most populous town in the Midland Region, with a population of 22,667 in the 2022 census.The Counties of Meath and Westmeath Act 1543 proclaimed Westmeath a county, separating it from Meath. Mullingar became the administrative centre for County Westmeath. The town was originally named Maelblatha, and takes its modern name from a mill noted in the legend of Colman of Mullingar.Traditionally a market town serving the large agricultural hinterland, Mullingar remains a significant commercial location. It had a tradition of cattle trading until 2003 when its cattle market was closed for the development of a mixed commercial and residential scheme called Market Point. However, in 2014 the local County Council allowed an annual Christmas Market to take place on Mount Street. Mullingar has a number of neighbouring lakes, including Lough Owel, Lough Ennell and Lough Derravaragh. Lough Derravaragh is also known for its connection with the Irish legend of the Children of Lir. The town of Mullingar is linked to Lough Ennell via Lacy's Canal and the River Brosna. Another nearby waterway is the Royal Canal, which loops around Mullingar.
