The Confederation Line (French: Ligne de la Confédération), also called O-Train Line 1 (French: Ligne 1 de l'O-Train), is a light rail line operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, as part of the city's O-Train light rail system. It opened on September 14, 2019, and is O-Train's second line. It operates on an east–west route, with a segment under Queen Street in the downtown core, complementing the north–south Trillium Line that operates to the west of the downtown core. Using light rail rolling stock and technology (e.g. pantograph electrical pickup from overhead catenary rather than a third rail), the Confederation Line is completely grade separated. The project was approved by the Ottawa City Council and the contract was awarded in December 2012. Construction began in 2013. At a cost of just over CA$2.1 billion, the first stage of the line was the largest infrastructure project awarded in the history of the city before being surpassed by the Stage 2 extension of the line, which will cost $4.66 billion.

Matt Anthony Field is a 675-seat multi-purpose stadium located on the University of Ottawa campus in Ottawa, Ontario. The stadium is home to the Ottawa Gee-Gees varsity women's soccer and rugby teams as well as the men's competitive club soccer and rugby teams. The facility was named in honour of Matt Anthony, a prominent figure in the Ottawa football community, playing for the Ottawa Rough Riders and later coaching the Gee-Gees as well as junior and high school football. Matt Anthony Field was renovated in 2011, the field surface was updated to FieldTurf Revolution, which was the first of its kind in Canada and only the second field with the artificial turf in North America. The facility holds a FIFA-recommended 2-Star designation, the highest synthetic turf rating possible. It is one of only approximately 20 FIFA 2-star fields in Canada.

uOttawa is a light rail transit (LRT) station on the O-Train Confederation Line, located on the University of Ottawa campus.

The Embassy of Germany in Ottawa (German: Deutsche Botschaft Ottawa) is located on Waverley Street, off Queen Elizabeth Driveway, in the Golden Triangle neighbourhood of the Canadian capital of Ottawa. The official residence of the Ambassador is in Rockcliffe Park. The current Ambassador to Canada from Germany is Sabine Sparwasser.

The University of Ottawa (French: Université d'Ottawa), often referred to as uOttawa or U of O, is a bilingual public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The main campus is located on 42.5 hectares (105 acres) directly to the northeast of Downtown Ottawa across the Rideau Canal in the Sandy Hill neighbourhood. The University of Ottawa was first established as the College of Bytown in 1848 by the first bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Ottawa, Joseph-Bruno Guigues. Placed under the direction of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, it was renamed the College of Ottawa in 1861 and received university status five years later through a royal charter. On 5 February 1889, the university was granted a pontifical charter by Pope Leo XIII, elevating the institution to a pontifical university. The university was reorganized on July 1, 1965, as a corporation, independent from any outside body or religious organization. As a result, the civil and pontifical charters were kept by the newly created Saint Paul University, federated with the university. The remaining civil faculties were retained by the reorganized university.The University of Ottawa is the largest English-French bilingual university in the world. The university offers a wide variety of academic programs, administered by ten faculties including the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, the Telfer School of Management, and the University of Ottawa Faculty of Social Sciences. The University of Ottawa Faculty of Law (French: Faculté de droit de l'Université d'Ottawa) is the law school at the University of Ottawa, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1953, the Faculty is today divided into Civil Law and Common Law sections, the two formally recognized legal traditions in Canada. The law school has produced a diverse array of successful alumni. These include the current Chief Justice of Canada Richard Wagner, and deans of several law schools. The Faculty is home to several specialist research centres, including the Centre for Health Law, Policy and Ethics; the Public Law Centre; and Centre for Law, Technology and Society.The faculty is very highly rated and maintains close links with the legal communities in Quebec, Ontario, and abroad. The Faculty of Law is also home to two elite bilingual law journals, one produced by the civil law section and the other produced by the common law section, which have significantly contributed to the development of law by the Supreme Court of Canada.

The Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services, or CRECS, is a research centre that collaborates with organizations in the education, social services and health sectors on research, evaluation, and training. Together, they work to improve social programs and policies for citizens, specifically those facing social exclusion. CRECS was founded in Ottawa, Ontario and continues to operate at the University of Ottawa.

Sandy Hill (French: Côte-de-Sable) is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, located just east of downtown. The neighbourhood is bordered on the west by the Rideau Canal, and on the east by the Rideau River. To the north it stretches to Rideau Street and the Byward Market area while to the south it is bordered by the Queensway highway and Nicholas Street. The area is named for its hilliness, caused by the river, and its sandy soil, which makes it difficult to erect large buildings. It is home to a number of embassies, residences and parks. Le cordon bleu operates its Canadian school there, at the opposite end of Sandy Hill from the University of Ottawa. According to the 2011 Canadian Census, the population of Sandy Hill was 12,490.

The Corktown Footbridge (French: Passerelle Corktown) is a pedestrian footbridge over the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The 70-metre (230 ft) bridge is located about 400 m (1,300 ft) south of the Laurier Avenue Bridge and connects the University of Ottawa campus with the Golden Triangle neighbourhood. It was opened on 21 September 2006. The bridge also connects the eastern and western sides of the Rideau Canal Pathway and has links to Colonel By Drive on its eastern side and to Queen Elizabeth Driveway and Somerset Street on its western side. The bridge's name refers to a series of shanties built along the "Deep Cut" section of the Rideau Canal during its construction. Many of the labourers living in Corktown came from County Cork in Ireland, giving it its name. The idea of a bridge between the University of Ottawa and the Golden Triangle dates back to the 1980s. It went through many years of review and feasibility studies with no success. The university and its students were strong supporters of concept, saying that the bridge would provide students with easier access to retail on Elgin Street and would connect the Golden Triangle to uOttawa station. City councillors Diane Holmes and Clive Doucet also lobbied heavily for the construction of a bridge. Finally, in January 2005, city council narrowly approved a $5 million bridge project.In spring of 2007, a naming committee was struck by councillors Diane Holmes and Georges Bédard, composed of stakeholders from communities on both sides of the bridge. The committee presented its report to a public meeting on May 29, 2007, where members of the public had an opportunity to express their preferred name from three shortlisted names: Somerset Footbridge, Charlotte Whitton Footbridge, and Corktown Footbridge. Public support for the "Corktown" name was overwhelming. The name was also promoted by groups such as the Ottawa District Labour Council, the Bytown Museum, and an ad-hoc group called "Friends of Corktown Bridge", which organized a cèilidh in advance of the public meeting. The formal ceremony to name the Corktown Footbridge was held on 11 September 2007 led by Mayor Larry O'Brien.The Corktown Footbridge has numerous love locks attached to its railing. In 2014, Professor Murat Saatcioglu of the University of Ottawa determined that there was no risk of structural collapse from the weight of the love locks attached to the railing of the bridge. In 2019 numerous of the love locks were removed due to "the amount, placement and clumping of locks," and that city staff routinely inspect the locks and removed damaged ones.

Goodwin House is a prominent heritage building in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Located at 312 Laurier Avenue East it was built by railway executive George Goodwin from 1899 to 1900. It is one of the largest mansions ever built in the city. It later became a convent for the Grey Nuns, and during the Second World War was used as the headquarters of the Canadian Women's Army Corps. In 1978 it was bought and restored by St. John Ambulance, which used it as its national headquarters. Recently it was sold to Amnesty International which today uses it as its Canadian headquarters.

CHUO-FM is a Canadian community-based campus radio station, broadcasting at 89.1 FM in Ottawa, on Rogers digital cable on channel 943, via RealAudio stream and in MP3. It is the campus radio station of the University of Ottawa, a member of the National Campus and Community Radio Association in Canada, and a member of the world community radio association AMARC. CHUO's studios are located on the campus of the University of Ottawa, while its transmitter is located in Camp Fortune, Quebec.

The Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Canada was the embassy of Angola in Canada. It was located in Panet House at the corner of Laurier Avenue and King Edward Avenue, next to the University of Ottawa. The embassy was closed in November 2018.
