The Spire of Hope is an outdoor sculpture located in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The 40-metre spire is built into the roof of St Anne's Cathedral in the city's Cathedral Quarter. In April 2007 the steel spire was installed on top of the cathedral. The structure is illuminated at night and is part of a wider redevelopment planned for the Cathedral Quarter. The base section of the spire protrudes through a glass platform in the cathedral's roof directly above the choir stalls, allowing visitors to view it from the nave.

Belfast Cathedral, also known as St Anne's Cathedral, is a Church of Ireland cathedral in Donegall Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is unusual in serving two separate dioceses (Connor and Down and Dromore). It is the focal point of Belfast's Cathedral Quarter.

The Northern Ireland War Memorial also called NI War Memorial and War Memorial was opened in 2007 in Talbot Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland. It replaced an earlier building called Memorial House which was located in Waring Street on a site which was bombed during the Blitz in 1941. It contains the Home Front Exhibition and the first national memorial to the hundreds killed in the Belfast blitz, created by Carolyn Mulholland.

The Belfast School of Art, formerly the Belfast Government School of Art, is a School in the Ulster University Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and is physically located at the Belfast campus. Following the results of the Research Excellence Framework 2014 Ulster is ranked within the top ten for research in Art and Design in the UK.The School hosts an exhibition of graduating students work annually at the beginning of June each year. This exhibition is open to the public and free entry.

The Donegall Street bombing took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 20 March 1972 when, just before noon, the Provisional IRA detonated a car bomb in Lower Donegall Street in the city centre when the street was crowded with shoppers, office workers, and many schoolchildren. Seven people were killed in the explosion, including two members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC), who said they had evacuated people to what was considered to have been a safe area following misleading telephone calls, which had originally placed the device in a nearby street. The Provisional IRA Belfast Brigade admitted responsibility for the bomb, which also injured 148 people, but claimed that the security forces had deliberately misrepresented the warnings in order to maximise the casualties. This was one of the first car bombs the IRA used in their armed campaign.

The Muddlers Club is a restaurant in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was awarded a Michelin star in the 2020 Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland.Chef patron Gareth McCaughey (formerly of Ox) founded The Muddlers Club in 2015, naming it after a revolutionary secret society linked to the United Irishmen that met in the area in the 1790s. It is located in the Cathedral Quarter.

The Festival of Fools is an annual Street Festival held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, usually during the May Bank Holiday weekend. It first started in 2004 and includes performances from around the world. Performers are paid a fixed amount and money collected from audiences at the end of each show is used to fund the next years show. Previous to that, the annual International Festival of Fools, created by the Friends Roadshow went on from 1975 to 1984 in Amsterdam. It was a "comedy convention of the Nouveau Clowns".The London Critics Group held an annual show called the Festival of Fools. Running over Christmas they satirised events of the previous year whilst including folklore and customs of each month. They were written by Ewan MacColl, staged in the back room of a North London pub, The New Merlin's Cave, and ran for five years in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The Harp Bar was a public house and live music venue based in Hill Street, central Belfast, Northern Ireland. It's notable in the context of punk rock history, particularly music from Northern Ireland. It was owned between 1977 and 1984 by Patrick (Patsy) Lennon who some years later built and owned the Limelight nightclub and Dome Bar (two adjacent premises in Ormeau Avenue, Belfast).

The Cathedral Quarter (Irish: Ceathrú na hArdeaglaise) in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is a developing area of the city, roughly situated between Royal Avenue near where the Belfast Central Library building is, and the Dunbar Link in the city centre. From one of its corners, the junction of Royal Avenue, Donegall Street and York Street, the Cathedral Quarter lies south and east. Part of the area, centred on Talbot Street behind the cathedral, was formerly called the Half Bap. The "Little Italy" area was on the opposite side of Great Patrick Street centred on Little Patrick Street and Nelson Street.The Cathedral Quarter extends out to the edge of what can be referred as the old merchant quarter of the city. Past where the merchant area meets the Cathedral Quarter is still mostly merchant trade and services orientated and undeveloped for visitor services.The Cathedral Quarter is so called because St Anne's Cathedral, a Church of Ireland cathedral, lies at its heart.

Belfast Community Circus School teaches young people from Belfast and its surrounding areas a variety of circus skills. The school's most recent director was Will Chamberlain, who died of cancer on 19 October 2017, after holding the position since 2000.

The Calling is an outdoor sculpture by Paddy McCann located in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Located at the junction of Gordon Street and Dunbar Junction, it consists of a bright red stylised male human figure calling into the distance while standing on an ordinary chair atop an extended (and angled) piston-like arm. A similarly mounted blue female figure, opposite the first, calls back across the square. It was installed in 2003.

The Golden Thread Gallery is a contemporary art space in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It hosts contemporary art exhibitions and participatory events by a mix of Northern Irish and international artists; six large-scale exhibitions in the main gallery spaces and twelve exhibitions in its project space. It also facilitates exhibitions of Northern Irish art in other venues across the globe. The Golden Thread Gallery was established in 1998 by Gail Prentice in a former linen mill on an 'interface area' (an area where segregated nationalist and unionist residential areas meet) in North Belfast. In 2001, it was reconstituted to become the Golden Thread Gallery Ltd., a limited company with charitable status. In 2002, Peter Richards, artist and curator, was appointed as the gallery's new director. Gallery outreach activities include working off-site and in partnership with communities and groups, devising projects in addition to providing artists’ talks, gallery tours and workshops. The gallery also publishes exhibition catalogues and books. In recent years the Golden Thread Gallery has been working with a number of artists living and working in Northern Ireland to create a “not-for-profit” form of artists’ representation and has championed their work at art fairs such as the London Art Fair, Berliner Liste and Scope New York as well as establishing a dedicated in-house sales room. Golden Thread Gallery is a member of Plus Tate, a network of 35 contemporary art galleries and organisations based throughout the UK.The Golden Thread Gallery is free to the public and is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, National Lottery, Belfast City Council and supported by RMI and ASHP YEHA.
