Gedelek, Orhangazi

Charmidea was a town of ancient Bithynia. Its name does not appear in ancient authors but is inferred from epigraphic evidence. Its site is located near Çeltikçi in Asiatic Turkey.

Orhangazi is a municipality and district of Bursa Province, Turkey. Its area is 506 km2, and its population is 81,110 (2022). Olive production is a major part of the economy. The archeological digs of Ilıpınar Höyüğü are in the region of Orhangazi, and can be visited. Orhangazi is located near the lake Iznik and near the Sea of Marmara. Orhangazi has a number of villages around it, connected with local buses. One of the villages, Keramet, has a natural hot springs. Main roads leading to the villages have olive fields on both sides.

Güneyköy is a village in the Yalova District of the Yalova Province in Turkey. Its population is 505 (2022). The village was founded in 1896 by immigrants from Dagestan. The first official name of the village was given as Almali or Elmaalani in 1899, as mentioned in the archives of the prime minister. While the name Almali was used, the name was changed to Reşadiye in 1910 after Sultan Mehmed V Reshad visited the village, was pleased by it, and had a memorial fountain built there. In 1934, it was named Güneyköy because of its location on the southernmost shore of Istanbul's borders. The village has three mosques, two official schools and a medrese. In 1919, it was invaded by the Greek Army during the Turkish War of Independence, and its inhabitants migrated to the Geyve and Adapazarı regions for three years. Only a portion of this population was able to return after the war. Sheikh Şerafeddin Dağıstanî and Abu Muhammad al-Madani of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Golden Chain are buried up in the cemetery of the village.

Yeniköy is a neighbourhood of the municipality and district of Orhangazi, Bursa Province, Turkey. Its population is 2,769 (2022). Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (belde). It is situated to the north of Lake İznik. The distance to Orhangazi is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) and to Bursa is 50 kilometres (31 mi). In 1963 Yeniköy was declared a seat of township. Table olive is the most important crop of the town. It was captured by the Greek Army in 1919 and its population was massacred and the village was burnt.

The Orhangazi Tunnel (Turkish: Orhangazi Tüneli), is a motorway tunnel located at Samanlı Mountains in Marmara Region as part of the Istanbul-Bursa Motorway O-5 in Turkey. Situated northeast of Orhangazi town between Laladere and Yeniköy villages on the province border of Yalova and Bursa, it is a twin-tube tunnel of length 3,586 and 3,591 m (11,765 and 11,781 ft) carrying three lanes of traffic in each direction. The construction works began on 15 February 2012, and are being carried out by Otoyol A.Ş., a consortium of Turkish Nurol, Özaltın, Makyol, Yüksel, Göçay and Italian Astaldi companies. The New Austrian Tunnelling method (NATM) was applied for the boring of the tunnel. Breakthrough in one of the tubes was achieved on 19 February 2014 after two years and four days of work. A related ceremony was held at site in presence of Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç and Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication Lütfi Elvan on 3 March 2014. It is the longest motorway tunnel of Turkey. The tunnel's opening to traffic was in April 2016. Other tunnels on the route are the 1,192 and 1,303 m (3,911 and 4,275 ft)-long Selçukgazi Tunnel and the 1,556 and 1,653 m (5,105 and 5,423 ft)-long Belkahve Tunnel.

Kadıköy is a town (belde) in the Yalova District, Yalova Province, Turkey. Its population is 9,543 (2022). It is 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) south west of Yalova and at the midpoint of Armutlu Peninsula. The settlement was founded by an Ottoman kadı ("judge") . Hence it was named as Kadıköy ("Judge's village"). During Ottoman Empire most of the population was composed of Greeks. But according to Population exchange between Greece and Turkey agreement the Greek population was replaced by Turkish population from Greece. Refugees from Caucasus after the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) were also settled in the village. The village was declared a seat of township in 1991. Intensive farming such as green house farming and floriculture is the main economic activity of the town.

Harmankaya Nature Park (Turkish: Harmankaya Tabiat Parkı) is a nature park located in Termal district of Yalova Province, northwestern Turkey.Harmanlı Nature Park is located 18 km (11 mi) to Yalova, 6 km (3.7 mi) to Termal and 5 km (3.1 mi) to Üvezpınar village, and situated south of Termal district on the road between Üvezpınar and Sudüşen Waterfall close to the provincial border to Bursa. The area covering 1 ha (2.5 acres), which formerly had a registered recreational area status, was declared a nature park by the Ministry of Environment and Forest on July 11, 2011.
