Enniscorthy Castle

Enniscorthy (Irish: Inis Córthaidh) is the second-largest town in County Wexford, Ireland. The town is located on the picturesque River Slaney and in close proximity to the Blackstairs Mountains and Ireland's longest beach, Curracloe. The Placenames Database of Ireland sheds no light on the origins of the town's name. It may refer either to the "Island of Corthaidh" or the "Island of Rocks". The cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ferns is located in the town as well as an array of other historical sites such as Enniscorthy Castle and the key battle site of the 1798 Rebellion. At the 2022 census, the population of the urban area of Enniscorthy was 12,310. The town is twinned with Gimont, France.

The Battle of Enniscorthy was a land battle fought during the Irish Rebellion of 1798, on 28 May 1798, when an overwhelming force of rebels assailed the town of Enniscorthy, County Wexford, which was defended only by a 300-strong garrison supported by loyalist civilians. On the previous day at nearby Oulart, several thousand rebels led by Fr John Murphy had massacred a detachment of the North Cork militia, amounting to 110 officers and men.: 92–93 

Enniscorthy Market House (Irish: Teach an Mhargaidh Inis Córthaidh), also known as The County Council and Urban Council Offices (Irish: Oifigí na Comhairle Contae agus na Comhairle Uirbeach), is a municipal building in the Market Square, Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland. The building, which was used as the local market house through much of its life, is now used as a civic building.

Enniscorthy railway station (Irish: Stáisiún Inis Córthaidh) is a railway station in County Wexford, Ireland. It is in the centre of the town of Enniscorthy.

St. Aidan's Cathedral (Irish: Ardeaglais Naomh Aodháin) is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ferns. It is located in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, in Ireland. The saint to whom the cathedral is dedicated is Máedóc of Ferns (feast day 31 January), also known as Áedan or Aidan, who died in 626, and not to be confused with St. Aidan of Lindisfarne (feast day 31 August), an Irish missionary who died in 651.

National 1798 Rebellion Centre (Irish: Ionad Náisiúnta 1798 Éirí Amach) is a heritage centre dedicated to the history of the 1798 Rebellion located in Enniscorthy, County Wexford.

Coláiste Bríde, Enniscorthy is a girls Voluntary Catholic Secondary School located in County Wexford. Coláiste Bríde was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and operates under the Trusteeship of CEIST.

Vinegar Hill Windmill or Templeshannon Windmill is a tower mill on Vinegar Hill, Enniscorthy, County Wexford.

The River Bann is a large river in County Wexford, in the southeast of Ireland. It rises in the southern slopes of Croghan Mountain in north Wexford on the County Wicklow border. It flows south and is joined by the Blackwater Stream near the village of Hollyfort. Veering southwest it passes under the R725, then continuing southwestwards it flows beneath the N11 national primary route at the village of Camolin. It is crossed by the Dublin - Wexford railway four times as it flows past the town of Ferns before joining the River Slaney north of Enniscorthy. In the 1950s a reservoir was built at Ballythomas to supply water to the town of Gorey, County Wexford. Before that, its banks regularly spilled over and made a lot of swamp land on its route.
