West Badin Historic District

Stanly County Airport (ICAO: KVUJ, FAA LID: VUJ) is a county-owned, joint civil-military, public-use airport in Stanly County, North Carolina, United States. It is located four nautical miles (5 mi, 7 km) northeast of the central business district of Albemarle, North Carolina. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned VUJ by the FAA but has no assignment from the IATA. The airport's ICAO identifier is KVUJ.

Narrows Dam and Power Plant Complex is a national historic district located at Badin, Stanly County, North Carolina. The district encompasses one contributing building and two contributing structures in the company town of Badin. The dam and power plant were built in 1917 by Alcoa to support the Badin plant. At the time of its completion, the Narrows Dam was the world's highest overflow type dam. The Narrows power plant is a one-story building nine bays wide with a gable roof and six-foot raised monitor roof.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Badin Lake is one of a series of lakes created by the damming of the Yadkin-Pee Dee River in the Uwharrie Lakes Region of the United States. The Badin Lake Dam was built in 1917 to support local aluminum smelting plant, Alcoa, and the associated community of Badin was named for the founder, Adrien Badin. The power generation unit was sold to Cube Hydro Carolinas in February 2017. Badin Lake is in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. It is contained by Narrows Dam at the town of Badin, North Carolina. Sitting within a valley, the lake is very deep, with a maximum depth of 190 ft (58 m). The lake occupies 5,350 acres (22 km2) and has 115 mi (185 km) of shoreline. Its waters have an average summer temperature of 84.4 °F (29.1 °C) and an average winter temperature of 50.6 °F (10.3 °C). No ferries cross Badin Lake. The northernmost point of Morrow Mountain State Park is roughly 2 miles (3.2 km) downstream from Narrows Dam. The lake lies within Stanly, Davidson, Montgomery, and Rowan counties. Much of the lake's eastern shoreline lies within the Uwharrie National Forest.

WZKY (1580 AM, "Magic 103.3 FM") is a radio station licensed to serve Albemarle, North Carolina, United States. The station is owned by Stanly Communications and broadcasts an oldies music format that at one time included programming from the Classic Hits network by ABC Radio. WZKY is where Bob Harris, "Voice of the Blue Devils", got his start in the radio business.

Eldorado Township, population 1,873, is one of eleven townships in Montgomery County, North Carolina, United States. Eldorado Township is 48.97 square miles (126.8 km2) in size and is located in the northwestern corner of the county.

Albemarle () is a city in and the county seat of Stanly County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 16,432 in the 2020 census. Albemarle is located in the easternmost part of the Charlotte metropolitan area.

Pee Dee Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 87 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in a predominantly residential section of Albemarle. They were built between about 1891 and 1947 and include notable examples of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style residential architecture. Notable buildings include the Brown-Parker House (c. 1891), Crowell House (c. 1900), Lambert-Hughes-Ferrell House (c. 1933), W. Berly Beaver House (1929-1936), David Augustus Holbrook House (1929-1936), Langley-Holbrook House (c. 1937), William Thomas Huckabee, Jr., House (1947), Robert Lee Smith Family House (c. 1900), and Wade F. Denning House (c. 1948-1950). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Quenby Mall, now known as Stanly County Commons, was a shopping mall located in Stanly County, North Carolina, United States. It was anchored by Belk, JCPenney, and Harris Teeter. The mall opened in 1966, and it was sold to Stanly County for their use in 1993.

Stanly County Schools (abbreviated SCS) is a local education agency headquartered in Albemarle, North Carolina and is the public school system for Stanly County. With over 1,350 employees, Stanly County Schools is the largest employer in Stanly County, North Carolina serving more than 8,700 students in grades PK – 12.

Thomas Marcellus Denning House, is a historic home located at Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Louis H. Asbury and built in 1924–1925. It is a two-story, double pile, Spanish Colonial Revival-style brick dwelling. It features bracketed, tiled pent cornices; full-façade porch with a parapet roof; and a side/sun porch with a porte cochere. Also on the property is a contributing brick garage. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Central Elementary School is a historic school in Albemarle, North Carolina whose current main building opened in 1925 as Albemarle High School, and whose previous building (Albemarle Graded School) located next door was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. Additions to the 1925 building were constructed in 1936 and a renovation and expansion completed in 2007. When the renovation was completed, Central Elementary moved from its original building next door. The renovation resulted in the Stanly County's school board being honored by Preservation North Carolina in 2008. The school has 561 students in grades pre-kindergarten to 5th grade and is SACS-accredited.

Five Points Historic District is a national historic district located at Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. The district encompasses six contributing buildings in the central business district of Albemarle. They were built between about 1905 and 1950 and include notable examples of Early Commercial and Industrial architecture. Notable buildings include the Service Station-Building (c. 1929, 1940), Anderson Grocery Building (c. 1928), The Model Tailoring Company (1922, c. 1940), Morgan Motor Company Building (1922, 1930s), and Lillian Knitting Mills (1905, 1938, late 1940s). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
