Huddersfield Grammar School is a coeducational independent school located in Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England. The school was established in 1995 on the site of the former independent St David's School, which closed on 1 September 1995. St David's school had been purchased and merged with the former independent Kayes College in 1995 Since 2007 the school has been owned and operated by the Cognita Group. It is the largest independent school in Huddersfield to offer both primary and secondary education. In 2014, Cognita invested £3.5 million at Huddersfield Grammar School to further enhance the school's site and facilities.

Huddersfield West was a parliamentary constituency centred on the town of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. It returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The constituency was created for the 1950 general election, and abolished for the 1983 general election. It was a much more marginal seat than its neighbour, Huddersfield East, which was safely Labour, and was alternately held by the Liberals, Labour Party and finally the Conservatives in 1979.

Paddock is a district of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated 1-mile (1.6 km) to the south-west of the town centre.The Paddock Ward had a population of 14,875 according to the 2001 Census.Paddock's secondary school, Royds Hall, was attended by the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Harold Wilson. A 2017 Ofsted report found that the school had over 1,100 students.

Edgerton is a suburb of the town of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England. The suburb is located along the A629 road, also known as Edgerton Road, from Huddersfield to Halifax. It is some 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the town centre. It is the location of many of the towns largest and most imposing houses, as well as the town's principal cemetery.Although the place name has been traced back to the 14th century, Edgerton started its development in the early 19th century, when three substantial Georgian houses were built in the area. One of these houses, Edgerton Hill, survives today as the town's Ukrainian Club. By 1896, Huddersfield Corporation Tramways had built one of its pioneering steam tram lines through Edgerton. This was succeeded in turn by electric trams, trolley buses and motor buses.Politically, Edgerton forms part of the Greenhead ward of the metropolitan borough of Kirklees and is within the Huddersfield parliamentary constituency. It is bordered to the north by the suburb of Birkby, to the east by the town centre, to the west by Lindley and to the south by Marsh.

Royds Hall Academy is a mixed secondary school for pupils aged 11 – 16. It is located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, and on the north side of the Colne Valley towards Milnsbridge.

Greenhead Park is an urban park located 0.5 miles (0.8 km) west of the town centre of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. It is one of the largest parks in Huddersfield and was originally opened in 1884. It is an English Heritage grade II listed property and is also in a Conservation Area. It is a very popular park, attracting an estimated 250,000 visitors each year. It is popular with visitors from all walks of life, including students at lunchtime from the local colleges—Greenhead College and Kirklees College. The park features tennis courts, a skate park, play area and the last remaining paddling pool in Kirklees. Greenhead Park is also home to Huddersfield Pétanque Club.

Birkby is a large multi-cultural suburb close to the town centre in Huddersfield, in the Kirklees borough of West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 6,700.An affluent suburb during Victorian times, Birkby sits in the Grimescar Valley, a greenbelt area of Huddersfield. Holy Trinity Church is a Church of England parish church in the town of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1819 and is a grade II* listed building. The church is situated just off Trinity Street, named after the church and forming part of the main A640 road from Huddersfield to Rochdale, and is just outside the town centre, in the suburb of Marsh. The parish forms part of the diocese of Leeds.

Longroyd Bridge is a suburb approximately 1200 yds (1.1 km) to the southwest of Huddersfield town centre, West Yorkshire, England. The area is composed of industrial and commercial units. There is little housing in the commercial area, though within a few hundred yards are the housing areas of Thornton Lodge and Paddock. The dominating feature of the area is the viaduct carrying the Sheffield—Huddersfield Penistone Line railway over the valley of the River Colne from the station at Lockwood to Springwood Junction and tunnel where the line continues under Greenhead to arrive at Huddersfield railway station. Longroyd Bridge is where the A62, Manchester Road, route to Manchester passes over the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and the River Colne, it then travels down through the Colne Valley passing Milnsbridge, Linthwaite, and Slaithwaite to Marsden before crossing the Pennine hills to Oldham and Manchester. The Huddersfield Narrow canal has been extensively reconstructed over the last few years, with long infilled stretches dug out again. In places this has required major civil engineering work to route the canal under buildings that had been constructed over the canal when it became disused. Also to replace newly constructed lock gates. Within the first year after re-opening the canal drained out, unexpectedly, leaving some narrowboats and leisure craft stranded for several days. Then again in early 2009 there was a leak, which again stranded boats.

St. Lukes Hospital was a large hospital in the English town of Huddersfield; it had approximately 850 beds for patient-care.

Longwood and Milnsbridge railway station is a former railway station serving the Longwood and Milnsbridge areas of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England that was located between the existing Huddersfield and Slaithwaite stations. It closed on 7 October 1968 (along with many other wayside stations on the Huddersfield to Manchester line) as a result of the Beeching Axe.
