West Kent is a planned unitary authority area in Kent, England. It is planned to be formed on 1 April 2028. The largest settlement will be Maidstone, the county town of Kent, and it will also include Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Ditton, and Swanley. It will be formed from the Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling and Tunbridge Wells districts. Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge are currently unparished, and the rest of the area is parished. The area has a 2024 estimated population of 567,062.

It opened in 2005 after several years of development by Centros Miller to include 350,000 sq ft (33,000 m2) of shopping and a 760 space car park.The original owner was Landsec. Legal & General bought the centre in 2011 for £92 million. It then passed to M&G Real Estate for £110m.

The Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment Cenotaph is a First World War memorial dedicated to members of the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment and located in Maidstone in Kent, south-eastern England. Unveiled in 1921, the memorial was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens following his design for the Cenotaph on Whitehall in London and is today a grade II* listed building.

The Tithe Barn in Maidstone, Kent, is a large two-storey stone building on the east side of Mill Street. It was constructed in the 14th century as a tithe barn for the nearby Archbishop's Palace and was later used as the palace's stables. Construction is attributed to Archbishop Courtenay, who died in 1396. The barn is a Grade I listed building and a scheduled monument. It is home to the Tyrwhitt-Drake Museum of Carriages.

The Archbishop's Palace is a Grade I listed historic 14th-century and 16th-century building on the east bank of the River Medway in Maidstone, Kent. Originally a home from home for travelling archbishops from Canterbury, the building has been most recently used as a venue for wedding services. The former tithe barn for the palace (today severed from the palace by the A229), now serves as the Tyrwhitt-Drake Museum of Carriages.

The Maidstone line is a railway line between Swanley, Maidstone and Ashford in Kent, England.The line diverges from the Chatham Main Line at Swanley Junction and proceeds down the Darenth valley to Otford junction (where the Bat & Ball line divides towards Sevenoaks). It continues via Borough Green & Wrotham and Maidstone East to Ashford, where it joins the South Eastern Main Line. In 2020 the line from Ashford International to Kemsing was adopted by the Kent Rail Partnership and this section was renamed The Kent Downs Line
